Magical Malta
And so we arrived in Malta. The first impression is hot. The climate is Mediterranean, somewhat reminiscent of Tunisia. Palm trees, cacti, and everywhere the sea. Traffic is left-handed, Malta is an English colony in the past. The English language of the Maltese is a separate story. The accent is terrible.
Malta is a very small country - a population of about 400.000 people, consists of 3 islands - Malta, Gozo and Comino. The whole of Malta is like a fairy tale, medieval buildings, crazy landscapes, blue lagoons. Only 8 people live on the island of Comino. But Malta is very different. We were at a rural wine festival, and at an MTV party, walked along the romantic medieval streets... There is a whole district in Malta where there are only restaurants and discos.
We just fell in love with Malta. But you need to know right away that Malta is not Turkey. All hotels are quite old (built in the 70-80s), there are practically no beaches of their own, the food is so-so. If you like staying in hotels, this is not the place for you. But if you crave new experiences, love architecture and nature, you will be delighted. In a week you can travel around the whole country - Malta is very small and fabulous.
