Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.. Where is the best place to relax at the end of May?
Holidays are traditionally in the second half of May, traditionally 15-16 days and traditionally 10-11 days of excursions and 4-5 days on the beach. Which country from the list to choose?

on the Black Sea it can be cool for a beach at this time. it is best to choose the Adriatic. I would choose Croatia in the Dubrovnik area. you can take a car and travel to nearby countries.
аватар AlexZimin
If you are interested in a beach holiday, then Cyprus is better. In those countries that you listed at the end of May, there may be cold water. From the above, it is better to choose Montenegro or Croatia. And there and there there is something to see, very beautiful nature

Romania and Bulgaria fall away at the end of May, it's cold for swimming in the sea. Although in the south of Bulgaria, in Nessebar, I rested and swam already on June 7th.
аватар mishatour
You know my opinion, but the country is not in the list)). None of these countries "will pull" 10 days of excursions, and even a beach holiday at the end of May is 10/90.

Of these countries: definitely -Montenegro and. . . . ONLY in BECICI! Why? CHEAP! The water in Becici is turquoise, like on the Greek islands. AND. . like a bay, not the open sea. Greenish-turquoise huge rock fragments stand in several places on the beach and in the water. They all sunbathe and take pictures. And, if you go through a short tunnel, you get to a sandy beach with small pink pebbles. The famous Sveti Stefan is not far away. RED CARE car rental is also the cheapest, by the way, in Europe. And a taxi too: from Tivat, where you need to fly, and not to Podgorets, - 18 euros. In addition, even by bus you can go to Sveti Stefan and the port of Bar. And from there there is a ferry to Italy in Bari. Swim to bow to the Holy relics of St. Nicholas. They say that you can negotiate with a guide even without a Schengen visa. There were such cases. EXCELLENT excursions to the Ostrog Monastery to St. Vasily Ostrogsky - believers of ALL denominations come from all over the world. And 15 km to the city of Tivat! There maritime museum is extraordinary and a visit to a submarine. The guide is a former submarine officer. The town itself is beautiful.. From it for the whole day, take an excursion on a small boat along the Bay of Kotor. Miracle! To Budva 20min walk. And Kotor!

I will add that you can go to neighboring countries from the Czech Republic and it is quite possible to collect 10 excursions. The country is small but interesting. There and inland, not on the coast, there is something to see.

I agree with those who offer Becici (Montenegro) and excursion options from there, but it is better to live in Rafailovici - the same Becici, but the area is more picturesque and Kamenovo beach is nearby.

10 days of excursions, none of these countries "will pull"
Wow! Unexpectedly, Google, it seems, gives out a decent list of sights for each country ... Israel, of course, is by, but there is Jordan nearby, so you can probably add it to the list too. Or is it already too hot in May?
So far, Montenegro is in the lead.

"10 days of excursions, none of these countries" will pull "
This can only be said by a person who has not been to Croatia and Montenegro.
If you rent a car in Montenegro, then in 2 weeks you will not travel all the most interesting, including nearby Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The same is true with excursions.
I wrote in detail about car rental and where to go by car in Montenegro here: http://www.alexzimin.com/arenda-avto-v-chernogorii.html

Are you considering the possibility of "breaking" a vacation into two countries? Let's say Montenegro + Albania or Montenegro + Italy (Bari, Alberobello ..) or Montenegro + Croatia. Choose two locations and take excursions from there.
I would also be tired of living in the same town for 15 days. Although still in the mood .. in Becici would not be tired.
аватар ollennka
Mercy, I appreciate it. Yes, we will rent a car, but we are not in the mood to travel to neighboring countries. It's like wasting time at the borders... Therefore, I want to choose one country that will be interesting for the whole two weeks.
аватар ollennka
86jjj, and we don't plan to stay in one city for 15 days. We will take a car and travel around with overnight stays in 3-5 cities. I don’t want to combine two countries, while there is a feeling that in any country there are sights for 10-11 days.
аватар AlexZimin
ollennka is not such a border as you imagine. Everything is very fast there. We went to Albania and Bosnia for 1 day. But in Montenegro itself there are a lot of interesting things. A tour is just what you need. Very beautiful nature.
аватар ollennka
Well, I don’t know about fast... There was an experience of crossing the border of Serbia and Montenegro by bus, all the formalities took at least an hour, and this was at night, when traffic is much less.

I have been to Slovenia and Croatia. Yes, I really liked nature: forests, lakes, mountains. Good roads where you can meet "any horses". But when I moved to Italy or Austria, I did not feel that this was a different country. Is that Zagreb reminded childhood and youth). If I hadn't been familiar with ollennka's work and hadn't seen "10-11 days of excursions", I wouldn't have intervened. AlexZimin, I respect your opinion and the information you post can be useful for 90% of tourists. But now I'm talking about excursions (not walks) for the remaining 10%. About those who want to visit the most ancient Jewish cemetery and understand why Jesus was buried in a cave after all. For those who want to visit places where they really washed the bones. Find out who a scapegoat is and why a goat ?! See the oldest Muslim building on earth at the end of the 7th century, preserved in its original form, the Qumran scrolls - 2nd century BC, the Masada Fortress - more than 2 thousand years old with real events described by Josephus Flavius.

And of course the Mediterranean Sea, the Dead Sea and the Red Sea will allow you to have a good rest and recover. I understand that a little off topic, just hooked 10-11 days of excursions).
All interesting excursions good rest and weather for a convertible).
P.S In Jordan in May it is still not very hot, but there is only the Dead Sea.
аватар mishatour
and of course red)
аватар AlexZimin
mishatour, I have nothing against Israel. I myself go there several times a year lately. Yes, there really is something to see, a lot of interesting things. And the beach season in May is already in full swing, unlike any European countries.

I looked at Jordan, it is full of chic in terms of sights: Petra, the Martian landscapes of Wadi Rum, the ancient Jerash and Ajlun, the Dead Sea, the underwater world in Aqaba ... Maybe her, this Montenegro ...
аватар Natali_NN
You look at the prices in Jordan, where 3 days is obtained as the entire vacation in the Czech Republic. If the price is not important, then you can connect with Israel, where you can enter through a certain border pass for 5 days without a visa.
аватар AlexZimin
ollennka are different things. In any case, both there and there you need to visit. I really liked Petra too. We went there from Egypt on an excursion for 1 day. 2 weeks of course there is probably nothing to do.
аватар ollennka
Natali_NN, Yes, tickets to Jordan are more expensive than to Montenegro. Hotels are the same price.
To combine with Israel is only to spoil your nerves.
аватар Natali_NN
Airfare to Israel is cheaper than to CG. But everything is more expensive there, there are very expensive tickets to all the sights. And getting to Petra is not very easy. In CG, almost all attractions are free.
аватар mishatour
"To combine with Israel is only to spoil your nerves" Olya, the role of an offended illegal immigrant does not suit you. Any border guard will open your passport with the words "Welcome to Israel") Natali_NN, Jerusalem, Bethlehem - free of charge, national parks and museums + - $ 10
How hard is it to get to Petra? From Israel 3 day excursions to all significant places including Petra. Price in the region of $ 300 - HB
аватар ollennka
And why do you all think that there is nothing to do in Jordan for two weeks? I already googled a bunch of interesting places there.

Of the listed countries in May - Bosnia and Herzegovina) is an absolutely magical country! in summer it is hot here, but in May it’s the most) I especially advise the city of Mostar. I describe my trip in detail here - http://www.quitntravel.com/udivitelnaya-bosniya-sarajevo-mostar
Also consider Italy - May is the perfect time for Venice and Florence.

I discovered South Dalmatia for myself, and specifically the area around Dubrovnik. And more specifically, the place of Mlini, from where it is within easy reach to Cavtat and Dubrovnik. You can take a regular bus - it will be cheaper, you can go by sea - boats work like clockwork.
But this is purely a beach holiday, except for Dubrovnik, of course. You can go to the ChG, there twice, except for the Bokotor Bay and the old Budva, I was not impressed. This can be covered in one day. True, the old city makes a greater impression in the evening, when it is darker and the lights come on.
As for Mlini ... If someone loved Miskhor and Gaspra, then this is the very thing, but at times an improved version. Hotels are quite expensive, but with meals. But foreigners and ours (in a broad sense) prefer numerous villas. From them to the beaches - a stone's throw. And on the beach, unlike the CG, you don’t have to pay for a sunbed and an umbrella and look for a saving shade. Everywhere the pines, warmed up in the sun, exude a wonderful coniferous variant. A mat and a beach towel is all, and a huge supermarket is close to all the beaches

I wrote at my leisure probably the most detailed guide to the sights of Malta.
This is a country with a unique nature and centuries-old history. According to one theory, the Maltese archipelago was part of the once disappeared Atlantis.
Only in Malta you can see the oldest building in the world - the megalithic temple of Ggantija, which is older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. It has a mild climate, and incredibly beautiful rocky coastline, delicious cuisine.
More than 300 famous films were filmed in Malta: Gladiator, Troy, The Count of Monte Cristo, the popular TV series Game of Thrones, etc.
In general, the country is worth a visit, and when you decide to go here, know that somewhere on the Internet there is my detailed guide with the coordinates of all the attractions of Malta, the TOP 40 of the best: http://www.alexzimin.com/malta-chto- posmotret-dostoprimechatelnosti.html

Thank you guys, but we chose Romania. And the vacation was shifted to the second half of June, not May.
аватар OlegRunin
Romania)) Excellent choice. Were in such places as the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, a famous architectural structure in the capitals. And I was madly impressed by the Romanian Carpathians, this is a mountain range, the second largest after the Alps) We traveled in comfort, lived with friends. Airplane tickets and timetables were viewed at https://tickets.by/avia
We were in Bucharest mostly, a banal place, but we were satisfied. And Constanta is the Black Sea port of this beautiful city of Romania)) If I have questions, I will answer with pleasure.
