Montenegro or Greece. To be or not to be... that is the question...
Good evening, dear forum users.
In connection with the upcoming vacation, I am faced with a dilemma which country to give preference to. Most of all, of course, I like Croatia, but due to the wild euro exchange rate in Ukraine, this trip is slightly shifted in time.
So the choice fell on Montenegro and Greece. I would like to hear the opinion of the experienced, which of these countries will be more interesting and more democratic in terms of prices. If we talk about basic accommodation in hotels where you can wash and spend the night, then the prices will be very similar. Therefore, the statistics of prices within the country for meals and excursions are interesting. And in general, which of the countries would be more interesting in terms of attractions near the resort towns. We are interested in both natural sights and various architectural "daytime". I would be grateful for any ideas

I was in Rhodes, and I was in Budva, I can say In Greece there is something to see, and in Montenegro the prices for everything are lower for food and alcohol. Although the conditions of the settlement were approximately the same, that is, studios with kitchens and a balcony. The sea is clean here and there .Greece spent 50% more money.

Holidays in Greece will be more expensive. Food and transportation are more expensive there. In terms of sights, Greece is certainly cooler.

Greece also needs a visa, ie. it's an extra cost and hassle. I fell in love with Greece, but what will happen to Montenegro, we will check this year.

Unfortunately, I haven't been to Greece yet, so I can't say anything. In addition, if you want to save money, then the cost of a visa for two to Greece will take away part of the budget. If you have never been to Montenegro, then for at least one trip you will have something to see in Montenegro: both nature and sights. The country is very beautiful and the people are friendly.

The issue of a visa is not worth it. I have multischengen.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I think we will also lean towards the choice of Montenegro. Especially there it is greener and therefore not as hot as, for example, in Crete. For us, this is also important. I read a lot of positive reviews about Montenegro on this site. And one more small question: Montenegro is a small country, but which region would you recommend to visit: Budva or Becici? Is there any significant difference at all? Thank you!

Despite the fact that my wife and I are not fans of hanging out (in Ukraine), we still prefer Budva (although Becici is quieter). The old town of Budva has a unique color of evening life. Last year there were some great music performers in the Old City area. We listened to them until the night, it was magical! Yes, and just wander along the embankment in the evening, where there are a lot of cute little boats (from small fishing boats to luxury yachts. There are a lot of cozy streets with cafes and shops in the Old Town. Like in Paris, you can have a great time here, nothing, in general At the same time, it was important for us to live away from the noise: a busy highway, from discos in the center, but at the same time closer to Mogren (the best beach in Budva) and the Old Town. Becichah, I would still have to move to Budva every day, but to each his own ...

She has traveled to both countries. I liked it there and there.
Therefore, it is necessary to visit both Montenegro and Greece.
In Montenegro, based on your age, live only in Budva, and in Greece the choice is large and the islands and peninsula of Halkidiki.

One year in one country, another year to go to another.

Definitely Budva, Becichi infrastructure is worse, although they are nearby! But I definitely advise Budva.

I was in Greece on the island of Crete in 2009: Chania, Rethymnon - rather boring regions, as it seemed to me. In Crete, youth holidays are only in Malia and Hersonissos.
Excursions are still very expensive, so we went to the Palace of Knossos and Athens on our own, an excursion to Santorini cost 100 euros. And yet, I don’t know, maybe something has changed during this time, but for some reason Russian-speaking excursions cost much more than English-speaking ones.
Montenegro is more economical both in terms of food prices and excursions (to see if there is something for sure!). + Budva is a lot of fun.

To fly to Hertzia prepare approximately $100/person. for a visa and other papers (photos, photocopies, etc.) + pre-determined because this is not Egypt, booked today, flew away the day after tomorrow. Montenegro is visa-free for Ukrainians. Those. if you want to save, then you are already saving by choosing Montenegro.

These countries cannot be compared - neither in color, nor in terms of money. Slow Greeks and dynamic Montenegrins. Each is good in its own way. The choice is yours.

We traveled from Montenegro to Greece in a rented car, if you compare the prices for accommodation and meals, then in Montenegro it is much cheaper, by sea the Adriatic will still be nicer, We were in August in Montenegro and Greece, so the sea in Greece was so warm that it was not clear where it is hotter or on land) If you prefer a purely beach holiday, a hotel with a pool and various entertainment and all inclusive, then this is of course Greece. And if you want a more relaxing holiday, then Montenegro. By benevolence, Montenegro is unambiguous, as the Greeks are not so hot to the Russians, which are smiling at the hotel. From my experience I can recommend the hotel Zlata Oliva Ulci

Montenegro impressed me more :) The mountains and the sea are awesome! The Adriatic Sea is very beautiful. I liked the climate very much - we were in the 1st floor. August, it's hot in the daytime, the evenings are very comfortable, warm, you didn't have to dress specially for the evening, but it's not stuffy at all! The country is small, in a couple of days you can go around the whole. Delicious cuisine, huge portions, almost every town "breathes with history" ... The next year we went to Greece and expected to gasp even more ... we were in Halkidiki, traveled 2000 km by car, only did not reach Athens. Of course, the country is very beautiful, there is something to see. But, if in Montenegro there are ancient towns at every turn, then in Greece to see them you need to go somewhere specially :) We haven’t been to the islands, everyone says that in terms of nature, the islands are much cooler than mainland Greece. We will see :)
