Baltic States (Riga and Tallinn)
She practically organized the trip herself, that is, she chose the route, hotels and relocation options herself, after which she turned to a travel agency. They booked a hotel for me (it turned out cheaper than booking on my own), made a visa and provided transfers and a sightseeing tour in Tallinn, as well as bus travel to Riga. I bought a trip between cities at Eurolines, paying via the Internet (electronic ticket). In Riga I chose the hotel "Garden Palace" **** 60 Euro per night for a single room - it was one of the cheapest 4 * options in the city center, and 3 * cost almost the same. I didn’t want to take it on the outskirts, so as not to travel by public transport and not waste time on it. I was very pleased with her: excellent location, service and comfort. In Tallinn there was a hotel "L'Ermitage" 3 *, it was offered to me by the company instead of the one I chose, because there were no places there. I do not regret it at all, this option turned out to be much better, and the cost is the same as in Riga. Also located in the center with a view of the castle. Enjoy free internet every day. I spent 2 days in Riga: on the first day I walked around the old town myself and after lunch I got on a tour bus, where you can listen to the tour in understandable language (Russian) with headphones, watch the sights passing by and watch the slide show on the TV screen. The next day, I walked around the city with a guide, which is much more interesting than walking on my own, because he showed many interesting places that you can not pay attention to, I accompany the walk with fascinating stories. Riga did not make a big impression on me, it is very small and cannot be compared with other medieval cities, there is almost nothing to see. Tallinn is a completely different matter. This is the only city in Europe where the city wall is almost completely preserved, with many towers, not to mention a truly medieval old town. You can walk there for hours, visiting various small museums and climbing the towers. Here I already bought a Tallinn Card for 3 days, with which I went to all museums for free, received discounts in some cafes, traveled by public transport for free and bought a ticket for a bus sightseeing tour at a discount. I also visited the open-air museum with peasant buildings, using an audio guide (also on the map).
