From the airport to the autobahn in the city, the speed during the day is 30 km. It takes about 1.5 hours to drive. On the autobahn from Colombo to Galle, 116.5 km, the maximum speed is 100 km. In total, the ride is about 2.5 hours.
I don't see any time difference between individual and group transfers.

I also see no reason to take a private transfer. Especially for Sri Lanka - the larger the vehicle, the better.

Why pay extra if the transfer is already included. And you won't gain anything in time. Fully agree with Rovno10

And I see the difference between individual and group. Let me explain with my own example:
1. On the way, the driver can be asked to stop by, for example, a store (the road is long, I wanted water or something to chew on). But this is not the main thing, this is a pleasant trifle.
2. More importantly, as our friends later said, people were taken to different hotels - i.e. made a lot of stops, arrivals at different hotels. those. it's a tedious waste of time.
3. It's funny that a transfer from a tour operator is 2.5-3 times more expensive. And it cost us $50 to get from the airport to the hotel in Induruwa, and we foolishly did not bargain. it is a fact. Read my review about the country of Sri Lanka. there in detail.
4. Well, a taxi is just more convenient, especially if you are traveling with a child. My child slept in the back seat with his head in my lap. More convenient than the bus, that's for sure. The taxi was wide, as a result, I somehow fit in and lay down with my daughter and dozed off.

Transfer is not always included. Apparently, it depends on the tour operator. We were offered: you can take it and include it in the price, or you can refuse. We got something about $ 50 per person (I don’t remember the exact numbers already, everything is in my review), and we were a husband, me and a daughter. Wouldn't they be fat for the bus? - we thought. We didn't regret for a second that we didn't.
