Warm, interesting, comfortable, tasty, exotic and inexpensive.

Sri Lanka is a country of "bananiya", a piece of Paradise on earth, where it is always warm, beautiful nature, a real ocean, seafood and friendly people. If you are going to go, then be sure to take an excursion program for a few days (informative) and + rest on the coast. Reviews of hotels can be read on the forum and choose according to your taste and budget.

which excursions are better to choose ??? can I take food on board the plane, for example, Moscow sausage ???

I recently wrote a review about the New Year in Sri Lanka, you can read about excursions as well. Air Arabia flew, food could be taken on board.

Excursions are cheaper to buy with a tour, this is the so-called excursion tour.
You can take any food on board the aircraft, but only liquids bought in duty free.

and in Sri Lanka bought water in hotels or villages ??? what is the cost ???

In our hotel, every day, when cleaning, they brought a liter of bottled water, which was enough for us for the day.

Most hotels in Sri Lanka supply 2 bottles of drinking water every day.
You can also buy - in the supermarkets of the FOOD CITY network - a fixed rate, a choice for every taste.
As for food and water on board the aircraft. Food can be brought in, in moderation, and not herring, of course. Water only in plastic and up to 1 liter!!! Ideally, 0.75 is sold by a mini-rake - they probably won’t be taken away!
Excursions can be bought both in Sri Lanka and when booking a tour. Which is better is debatable.

Not controversial, but definitely on the spot, it is 2 times cheaper, and if you gather a company for 6 people, then you bargain 2.5-3 times cheaper than with a tour operator.

I support family-n... In addition to the price, there are many more advantages (free schedule, any route you want, because not every tour operator will be able to offer the trip plan you want). But, at the same time, you yourself must understand in advance what you want to see, when and where you want to go, i.e. you need to read the forums, ask specific questions... If you don't want to bother with it, take a guided tour.

I agree, but as a rule, before such trips, they usually monitor everything, and as a rule, they have already decided for themselves what they want to see. Moreover, the calculation is after the excursions, and if you give a tip (100-300) rupees, the next day the whole taxi team will know you, and this helped us a lot in the future. And given that it is already dark at 18.30, all trips for the evening cannot do without taxi drivers!

Moreover, we have never been deceived, but they helped for sure. And with shops and temples that are nearby (100 m. -1.5 km away from the main road)

Moreover, the tour operator has a fixed date, and if, for example, you arrived today, and tomorrow the tour may be difficult. And so you lie down, sunbathe, relax - you suddenly realized that you were "ripe" and waved your hand, they approached you and tomorrow you went on an excursion, and then you became his best friend.

Excursions by the sea, the main thing is to visit not tea plantations and spice factories, but sights of the past .. I won’t list everything, but for me, temples, ancient buildings and an elephant park are a must .. the ancient port is also very colorful .. Here is my trip - http://blogs.turpravda.ua/Deuce/70483.html can get useful information for yourself. ))

@ the ancient port is also very colorful.. @
Good thing it's low calorie
The adjective "colorful" is derived from the noun "color" and means "bright, expressive, eye-catching".
(from the "Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian Language").

@family-n: "Moreover, we were never deceived, but they definitely helped"...
I am in love with Sri Lanka, I have worked with groups of guides on dozens of routes more than once, I share my knowledge about the island with many tourists ... And it is strange and sad for me to hear such comments about guides. For some reason, it has become commonplace here at the Forum to take advice - and at the same time question the SIGNIFICANCE of the work of guides.
Maybe this is a way for independent tourists to “establish themselves” as experts in a country that I consider mysterious, rich in impressions and still little mastered after 10 years of work.
A huge layer of knowledge about the island, its history and culture, dozens of legends remain out of sight of tourists.
if we draw parallels, then every housewife knows how to cook - better or worse. But not everyone can be a chef :)
