Tanunik, Eden - 5* hotel. but democratic 5 *. The river does not interfere in any way and nowhere (be it Beruwala or Bentota) does it affect the purity of the ocean. The hotel will certainly be cheerful compared to many other Sri Lankan hotels.
But personally, I would advise you to choose Club Dolphin 4*+. A hotel with excellent reviews! It definitely beats Eden in terms of food, territory and rooms (unless, of course, you choose superior rooms in Eden). The only thing is that Club Dolphin is located in the village of Waikkal, which is smaller and quieter than Beruwala.
By the way, in Club Dolphin there is a part of the reef in front of the beach, which reduces the risk of powerful waves :)
