The Government of Sri Lanka has officially announced the introduction of an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system, with varying levels of fees and the same visa procedure for all visitors to Sri Lanka, effective 1 January 2012.
ETAs/visas can be processed online as of October 1, 2011 directly by travelers or third parties (travel companies). The ETA fee will be $50 for tourist visas up to 30 days (double entry), $60 for business visas (multiple entries) for 30 days, and $25 for transit passengers (valid for up to 7 days).
It is also possible to obtain a visa at the point of entry: a 30-day visa for $75 and a 7-day visa for $25.

Detailed information on the website www. eta.gov.lk.
To obtain a visa, you must go to the site and obtain a visa before departure for all tourists arriving in Sri Lanka after January 1, 2012.
The government said all applications will be processed within 24 hours and payment can be made online using a credit card.

this confused me - filing via the Internet, but with a mandatory visit to the embassy (((why not like Turkey and Egypt - a visa at the airport - we don’t mind paying .....

Detailed information on the website www. eta.gov.lk. read here =) otherwise you can rivet any articles.

Thank you

By the way, articles can be riveted, but this information is a teztour, with their group in contact, which means they give false information ....

maybe they're just overthinking. should be guided primarily by an official source.
аватар Anetka-gan
the embassy is in Moscow in general, so it’s not clear where to go and why =) doubts arise - who moderates the Vkontakte page from Teztur and for which country it is provided)))

Folks, what about a visit to the embassy? Dreamers!
You don't have to go anywhere - registration will be electronic!

A month ago, I published the "1st portion" about the New Rules for Entry to Sri Lanka (see the post on the Forum in the "Visas, Passports" section at the link: http://www.turpravda.ua/forum/topic.php? id=72156 ), a few days ago - added Amendments: http://www.turpravda.ua/forum/topic.php?id=74467) - about reducing the visa fee to 20 dollars.
According to the latest information from the Tourism Office of the SL, the visa application site ( www.eta.gov.lk ) will start working on January 1, 2012, while it operates in a test mode.

A visa is issued upon arrival and there are no difficulties, right?
аватар Lanka-Lanochka
Absolutely true: a visa is issued upon arrival.

I tried to get an electronic visa, the money was withdrawn - there is no visa ((((. I called the embassy and they said that the money would be returned, and the visa would be issued upon arrival. I'm worried ....

For Asolig:
"I tried to get an electronic visa, the money was withdrawn - there is no visa ((((. I called the embassy and they said that the money would be returned, and the visa would be issued upon arrival. I'm worried..."
- Don't worry! Upon arrival, go along the main passage to the hall with the visa issuance desk (you will find your way in turn :) and submit your passport. The clerk finds your registration in the system - and you will get a visa!
