To whom, how - can you go up to the 15th floor? So it will work out here - it's worth it!

)) thanks, are the climbs steep? no views of the abyss?
аватар astashov
No - ordinary flights of stairs - all dangerous places are covered with a net. There are railings everywhere.

thank you very much!

the climb, not very heavy, for me personally in some places it was not much scary, but this is complete nonsense. when we climbed to the top, we were breathless from beauty. The advice is to make the rise with a margin, so that there would be time to take a walk, take pictures, and consider everything. I advise everyone to climb Sigiriya

For those who are especially lazy, I can suggest that it is much easier to climb to the top from the back of Sigiriya, there are no steep iron stairs, but just paths (Cobra Road and Elephant Road). But there is not that buzz, as when climbing a sheer cliff, and you will not see the frescoes. By the way, when you climb the stairs, and it seems that there is no strength left at all, German pensioners of 70-75 years old come down to meet you, and then you become a little ashamed of yourself. The main thing is to get up in the morning, while it is not hot. We climbed at two o'clock in the afternoon (a car broke off on the way), damn it, seven sweats came down, but still unforgettable impressions!

I join the opinion of astashov and natali_su:
the oldest garden complex in the world (5th century) is worth the effort.
For 12 years of ascents and descents to Sigiriya, among my tourists were both young and aged (last year's record - Svetlana Karpenko from Zaporozhye, 73 years old - climbed more energetically than the youngest members of our group).
The most tiring part is from the lower terraced park (from the Great Stone Arch) to the level of the Mirror Gallery, but there are areas where you can restore your breath (high marble steps), rinse your mouth (try to refrain from drinking to the top).
The ascent from the Lion Platform to the very top goes through metal stairs with low steps with ribbed coating and comfortable railings), so everything is not as desperate as it looks in the photo.
You can take the help of one of the guides, it is better to agree on the cost of services immediately upon entering the complex (support on the rise, lend a hand). 500 rupees is quite a decent fee for "assistance".
