What to do in Ahangama?
Dear vacationers, tell me, please, on this issue: who rested or was passing through the village near Koggala - Ahangama? We are going with a guy, the hotel in this village turned out to be the most affordable for the price) , but I would like to understand what else can be done there? How is the village itself and is there at least something there?) Thanks in advance)

Just returned from Koggale. The village you are asking about, as I understand it, is located between Unawatuna and Koggale. In principle, if you use a tuk-tuk (and it’s quite difficult to move around in another way), then a lot of “entertainment” is 15 minutes away. ride.
In the village itself (in my opinion we are talking about the same thing) there is a mini-supermarket (there are two of them - choose more for shopping with cash registers - it will be cheaper), a mini-market, a German restaurant on the ocean, a bus station. There is also a turtle farm nearby.
To the beaches of Unawatuna - 10-15 minutes drive, to the Jungle Beach lagoon - 20 minutes, towards Matara (30-35 minutes drive) - surfing.
For shopping it is better to go to Galle (20 minutes). We bought in their Rich Look store and in the shops that are nearby. Checked - cheaper than in shops on the way to the Unawatuna lagoon. Also in Galle you can (NECESSARY!) see their fort built by the Portuguese.
Koggala has a big lake with islands that have a mini-temple, a monks' school, a spice island, and jungle, jungle...
An hour drive is the city of Matara. There is a beautiful Buddha temple with tunnels and a statue above 30m. There is also a lighthouse and an elephant nursery (you can ride).

There taxi drivers on tuk-tuks are nimble. They are also tour guides. They will advise, take you where you need and bring you. Prabat hangs out outside the Insight hotel. Normal guy.

Rested in Kogala Village, it's nearby, 0777835447 - Misha's number is local, You won't regret it, smart guy, speaks excellent Russian, knows a lot, works with excellent guides, a new minibus. Buy a local sim card and no problem.
