If you leave the hotel on the beach and go to the right, then after a couple of meters there will be a couple of private restaurants. In appearance, of course, they are not very good, but we went to one and ate amazing crabs there and drank fresh mango. They also provide masseur services there. as for life outside the hotel, we didn’t go to restaurants or clubs anywhere, so I can’t say anything. As far as I remember, there is a night club in the hotel itself. You need to go to the vegetable market, the locals will tell you where it is better to buy fruit

you can go to the right, but the choice of dishes is small, the shrimp are delicious, you can go to the left behind Tangerine and a little deeper there is also a restaurant, in general, this is not quite the kind of country where you can walk for the purpose, if you go left for a very long time, you can walk to an ancient Buddhist temple, and if you go the same amount to Kalutara itself, they will gladly keep you company and advise you on beach-fights, there are many large boulders in the ocean and generally stunning sunsets, perhaps this is the main evening attraction, restaurants are not very developed in Sri Lanka, this is not Thailand, but beyond you can take a tuk tuk to the bazaar with fruit, and if you want exotic in the economy version, take the bus, the impressions are very vivid, but you will have to leave the hotel and walk to the highway. And the market is not quite a vegetable market, in my opinion everything is there and fish and alcohol and things. I walked both ways in the morning, the dignity of Sri Lanka, nature and amazing atmosphere. All entertainment is at the hotel and on excursions.

Good afternoon. There are no decent restaurants, there are small ones, but very dusty, so they didn’t try to eat anywhere - somehow disgusting! If you leave the hotel through the main gate (the guards will let you in), walk along the railway. road to the right and after 5 minutes cross the road to the left side. There will be a village. Do not take a tuk-tuk (there are a lot of them near the hotel), it takes about 10 minutes to walk. This village has many souvenir shops (the coolest and air-conditioned at the very end of the street), "mini markets" with chips, nuts and water. Restaurants that I have already mentioned. Fruit will be full in the hotel, you can take it to your room within reasonable limits. Before leaving home, many bought fruits in bulk. baskets (as we have for transporting cats) - they pass at customs. In general, they were fed for slaughter (we had everything inclusive), and every day at lunch on the street near the restaurant they grilled freshly caught lobsters, shrimp, lobsters (about $ 30-50 per person). Delicious, big portions, take your pick. I don’t advise you to go anywhere in the evening - the country is very poor, no one is responsible for security, they themselves personally saw a local guy stoned and terribly aggressive towards tourists on the day of departure. Yes, and it is difficult to look at hungry children without tears !!!

If you need to eat in Kalutara, Waskaduwa (near the Royal Palms Beach, Tangerine Beach hotels) I highly recommend the private restaurant "The Delicacy" (after the railway crossing, after 10m on the right). Good quality products, beautifully served, wooden furniture, cloth tablecloth, changing for each new visitor, menu in English and Russian. This is a family business and they try very hard and work hard. The owner of Chandima (you can just Dima) is very pleasant, decent, sociable, educated, attentive, responsive. He speaks good English, Russian. He told us a lot of interesting things on various topics: about the country, life, people, himself and his family, customs, religion, politics, etc. He can also organize excursions (a map of Sri Lanka with sights is drawn on the wall in the restaurant). Tries to fulfill any desire.
