The beach holiday was in Jetwing Lighthouse 5*. I liked the hotel in general. Almost all rooms have a view of the ocean, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, made in a colonial style, clean, all plumbing works and no complaints. . The views are simply mesmerizing. But swimming on the hotel beach did not work, there was excitement on the ocean. However, having met a local guy named Anura and his brother Danish on the beach, we learned that there are two places nearby where you can swim even when the ocean is rough. By the way, for those who have problems with English, Danish and Anura are just a godsend, I recommend it to everyone. Danish speaks rather tolerably Russian, and although Anura does not speak Russian, she understands everything. So the forgotten school English course was enough. Each of them has its own taxi (tuk-tuk). Anura drove us on his tuk-tuk to Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa, waited for us for 3-4 hours guarding things while we were swimming and drove back. In short, a half-day trip (for the money, about 300 rubles). And after giving him a tip of 100 rupees, he became practically a personal taxi driver (and he will go for groceries and take him to the pharmacy). I really liked the food at the hotel. Everything is delicious. For 10 days of our stay there, the menu for dinner has never been repeated. Lots of seafood, delicious grilled dishes. Of the shortcomings of the hotel, I can say that the bed linen is rarely changed (in 10 days they changed 1 time) and the workers on the beach lazily clean up the garbage (beer bottles in the evening stand quietly until the morning of the next day, and sometimes until noon).
