They sat down, took off, food for drinks for money, landed. Transfer in Sharjah, UAE. Again, the flight is already in Colombo itself, Sri Lanka. The composition of passengers is changing into an Asian majority.
Air Arabia is a low-cost airline, everything is minimalized.

A boarding pass in Kyiv is given immediately for two flights - to Colombo. In Sharjah - immediately to the landing. Baggage is also checked in to Colombo, it will be reloaded in Sharjah without your participation. Airport In Sharjah, a small, one room, just do not get lost. Food is really on the plane for the money, we did not buy, we took everything with us.

Another option that we flew was a connection in Ab Dhabi (UAE). Etihat Airlines flew from the Emirate to Colombo and, accordingly, from Colombo to the Emirates. We didn't pay for food, everything is included in the ticket. They bring a menu, choose what your soul desires (3 main dishes to choose from), the same choice in alcoholic beverages (but it is much more extensive). Highly recommend staying with Etihat Airlines. Flight - $535 per person.

Flights from Kyiv are possible:
- on Air Arabia flights (papa 74 has already been described - via Sharjah, with a minimum connection, on medium-haul Airbus 319/320).
On the way - 5 hours on the section Kyiv - Sharjah and the same on the next, Sharjah - Colombo.
Personnel is friendly. Meals on board $7.5 - $10. Water - on request - free of charge. The pitch of the seats is quite large;
- on combined flights
a / c UIA + Etihad (with a change in Abu Dhabi) - the flight schedule is approximately the same as that of the previous company, with the only difference being that different air carriers serve you in different sections;
a / c Aerosvit or UIA + Sri Lankan or Emirates: the second part of the route - on large Airbus 330 or 380, with à la carte meals, with individual screens and radio, with free blankets and pillows. but a transfer at the huge Dubai airport requires care and promptness, because. the arrival and departure areas are located at different levels, and check-in for a flight and screening of hand luggage take much more time than in the flight options described above.

I flew with Air Arabia.
On the Sharjah-Colombo interval, the plane was running very hard for 4 hours, all the time while flying over the ocean. It was the strongest impression of the trip. It's been 2 months, but I remember that flight with horror.
"Water - on request - free of charge." I asked. They said that water is paid, it costs a little less than 1 dollar. But they did not give change from the dollar. In general, the Air Arabia website has a menu with prices.

I will join the question of the author of the topic.
Do they issue boarding passes to Sharjah and Colombo in Kyiv?
Are the seats indicated on the boarding passes (read horror films about low-costs)?
By the way, how is the temperature on the planes, is it hot or cold?

I will add: this is a question-clarification, elena2008 read it.
But I have some conflicting information. A friend told me that in Sharjah you need to register pushing everyone :-) and at the same time I heard reviews that you arrive in Sharjah and immediately go to the specified terminal

In Kyiv, they are now issuing a ticket for Sharjah, and in Sharjah - for Colombo.
At the same time, you don’t have to push around (oh, this Slavic craving for crowds and parties))) - it’s enough to queue up at the TRANSFER DESK counter. Usually, airport employees direct to it directly from the escalator (arrivals use it to go up to the 2nd floor, from where they go to board).
Seats are listed on boarding passes, so the horror stories about low-cost airlines in the case of Air Arabia are exaggerated.
I speak about this as a regular passenger of this company.
On board Air Arabia aircraft, the usual temperature is no higher than +25, that's for sure. If you are a heat-loving person, take a shawl.

We were given all the tickets upon departure from Boryspil. With indication of seats.

Thank you Lanka-Lanochka.
from my experience: in Kyiv they gave boarding passes to Sharjah and Colombo.
And on the way back - only to Sharjah. But in Sharjah, TRANSFER DESK had nothing terrible, they calmly and quickly received their coupons. Places are indeed indicated :-)
On the plane, IMHO, it's warm enough

For Tat Bal:
Thanks for the positive.
As for Sharjah, this is true: everything is operational.
Respect Air Arabia - clearly and smartly.
In an airplane, sometimes it’s even a little hot (in the second half of the cabin). But there is a local airflow, so this can also be dealt with.
The food is definitely worthy: on the way back I ordered Veg Biriani (a kind of pilaf), and to it the whole set - salad, tea / coffee, dessert. The price - 25 dirhams - is quite tolerable.

I do not recommend the option a / c UIA + Etihad (with a change in Abu Dhabi). What concerns the Etihad part is beyond praise. New airbuses, well-trained staff, a la carte menu. But a / c UIA ... No words. And it's not just about old Boeings, narrow seats and legs resting on the previous chair, even with a small stature. On long flights, pillows and blankets are completely absent (even for children). I'm not talking about options for films, music, etc. The stewards, having quickly handed out disgusting food after take-off, subsequently bother themselves little with work. They sit in the tail of the saline. The noise from the engines in the cabin is such that after 5 hours of flight the head splits. And many other things. So the charms of the Etihad do not compensate for the horror of UIA. It's better to fly Air Arabia.

It is sad to hear about the irreparably low level of service of the national carrier UIA.
I remember my own annoyance after taking their flight from Tbilisi last year. Then it was thought that the unkindness of the staff and the quality of the flight catering were a matter of chance, an unfortunate mistake. We found an explanation (the flight attendant team was tired from the night flight) - and did not become particularly annoyed after a wonderful week in Georgia.
And now I think that this seems to be the "signature" style of UIA :((
