I recommend Bentota Village. The name speaks for itself - a small cozy hotel with 16-18 rooms. no Russians, only Germans. Nice swimming pool with hydromassage, good HB food. To the ocean 300 m. Walk to Aluthgama 30 minutes, by tuk-tuk-10 minutes for 100 rupees. On the same tuk-tuk to Galle Fort for almost the whole day, 2000 rupees, etc.
