Thanks for the answer. We are just considering My Hotel 3 * and are interested in the question of the beach, which refers to the hotel - is the entrance to it paid or not and in what form can you swim there, because we read that: "there are city beaches near the hotels, but sunbathing and swimming on they can only be in closed clothes, according to the religious beliefs of the locals"?

Thanks for the question. I can explain to you the following regarding the beach: the beach is municipal, the entrance to it is paid. swimming in a swimsuit is prohibited for local residents. we, the Russians, are allowed. By the way, the price of it is acceptable for an early booking promotion. I can help if you decide to visit such an interesting country. (based on my experience). and for dishes I advise you to try:
1. Lamb with Mansaf Rice
Juicy lamb marinated in yogurt or curdled milk, boiled with rice and pine nuts. The most popular dish of Jordanian cuisine in Jordan itself is served on the table exclusively on holidays.

4. Potato and meat casserole "Makluba" (Maqluba)
A puff dish of meat, rice, fried vegetables and spices is baked in a fragrant broth and served sprinkled with a mixture of herbs and nuts.

9. Milk pudding "Sahlab" (Sahlab)
This popular Arabic dessert is made from soft milk mousse, nuts, dried fruit, coconut and cinnamon and is served hot.
10. Arabic coffee
As in many Arab countries, there is a kind of coffee cult in Jordan. According to tradition, Arabic coffee is brewed in a Turk ("cezve") with sugar, and in Jordan, cardamom is added to this classic recipe.

I'll send you info on pricing policy in private messages :))

Many thanks for the useful information, they enlightened us a little, otherwise it is a new country for us and there is little information on it. I'm waiting for a private message.

I would advise not to book anything in advance (unless, of course, you need a voucher for passport control). You will find your bearings on the spot, there are a lot of budget hotels where you can also bargain. There is a good complex near the South Beach: everything is extremely primitive there (such as Kirillovka or Zatoka, if you know), but mostly Europeans who love budget vacations settle.
What is good about South Beach: except for weekends, Fridays and Saturdays, there are practically no locals, you can swim in ordinary European swimsuits, admission is free, there is some infrastructure for very little money and there are REEFs, you can go snorkeling or scuba diving. Write in a personal, I will give the address of an informative site. Have a good trip! :)

Tatyana, why do you offer to buy a pig in a poke for a person ?????? when the reservation is already on hand, then everyone is calm. I have visited many countries, including Jordan. and I know what I'm talking about. I am not an amateur in this. I have my own agency. Therefore, I am responsible for every word I say.

I would be very surprised if the agency advised a person to go "self-propelled"))) If the agencies offered vouchers to budget tourists - no problem, I myself would be the first to advertise these agencies. And since I, when advising tourist offices in the direction of Jordan, constantly see that tourists are charged insane prices for 5 * hotels, and tourists often complain later - I can’t answer anything else in response to a question about a BUDGET vacation ...
I have been sending individuals to Jordan for almost 10 years and so far no one has said that they did not like it there. But I see a lot of complaints about "tour to Jordan for 6 nights, ONLY 1800 dollars - and you are 7 days on the Red (Dead Sea)". As they say, nothing personal: there are good proven proposals - send me, I'm only "FOR"! And I am your partner in Jordan;)

As for the beaches: there is a budget one, for $ 10 - Sea star. It's more like a diving club. A shuttle runs to it from the Al-Kazar Hotel (Hotel Street - Shara Hotels in Arabic) for 1 dinar. There is more expensive, $ 15, but it's really good there: infrastructure, very clean and calm, beach and diving. The main audience is Europeans. It's called Berenice.
The best beaches are near coastal hotels, but there the entrance is from $ 45 per day if you live in another hotel.
There is a good dive club-hotel in terms of price / quality balance - Corall Bay, but there is no beach, only reefs. There is equipment rental, a restaurant, a bar, normal rooms of an average level. The whole question is what are you going for.
On movement: a taxi out of town (South Beach, Berenice and so on - from 5 to 12 dinars on the counter one way. In Aqaba you can rent a car: from 25 dinars per day. Option: check into a coastal hotel or on the second line, walk and pay only for transfers and excursions

Aqaba is not the best option for a budget holiday.
Even in neighboring Eilat it will be more comfortable! Not to mention Taboo - it's better and cheaper there!

Thank you, but we have already returned from Aqaba. I really liked My Hotel 3 * - food (breakfasts are much better and more varied than in the UAE), staff attitude, room cleaning, linen change, etc. There are not many vacationers, there were often only us or a couple of other people near the pool (and this is what my husband loves). Mostly we went on excursions, looked at the country, liked it very much and will definitely come back again.
