Wonderful Amalfi Coast!
Hotel Olimpico 4* in Pontecagnano, Italy
So another vacation passed in June, the story about which I begin to write.

Week at sea - cruise - week at sea.

Hotel selection and location.
Our cruise started in Salerno, so I was looking for a hotel in the city itself or not far from it. I didn’t like anything in the city itself, because I wanted peace and quiet, and that a free beach across the road, and that the hotel was more or less decent, and, and, and... I had a lot of requirements for the hotel. After reviewing a bunch of hotels on different sites, this one was chosen. Not exactly ideal, but in principle we were satisfied.
It is located about 10-15 km south of Salerno, not at all in a picturesque place. The road to the hotel runs along the sea, and is separated from it only by some dubious-looking cafes, hotels, parking lots... Everything is not well maintained, rare houses are not completed or already in a dilapidated state (but sometimes there were residential ones, quite decent) , some incomprehensible parking for cars, no shops, we saw a couple of fruit stalls. Abandoned areas overgrown with weeds... "moths" with and without cars... and in such a place I chose a hotel for myself, which I would compare with a rose growing among wild grass. I knew all this in advance, and looked through the road, and nothing bothered me, because I liked the hotel. All pictures from the site are true.

A trip to Vesuvius.

Entrance ticket to Vesuvius National Park - 10.00 EUR/person
Roadside parking is free.
And there was an "ambush" with the volcano. I found the address on the Internet: Monte Vesuvio, Napoli and google. de/maps brought me safely to the volcano, I watched all the turns, all the exits, everything was fine. But where our navigator led us, only he knew. We ended up in a private sector, among gardens and orchards, where he proudly explained that we had arrived at the place, and our goal lay on the left.
He didn’t want to, didn’t show the way, didn’t lead, then they started Ercolano, reacted, let’s go, I told my husband, and after the congress I visually remember where to turn. Then to Via Cupa Monti, then Via Vesuvio, and then there were already signs, they were no longer lost. Of course, we lost time, but we didn’t worry, because we have a whole day ahead of us, and there’s no need to rush anywhere.
A serpentine is like a serpentine, two-lane, yes, you can’t miss the buses on the turns, but not only do they honk, you can also see them. We only had to return once. Although we saw the bus and stopped, but when he went into the turn, he gave a sign that we passed a little more back. And so the road is good, views of the surroundings, only stops are provided in those places from which nothing can be seen behind the trees. A couple of times we stopped like this, trying to find a good angle, but then we gave up these attempts and went to the volcano.
They didn’t let us into the parking lot, although there were free places, they showed us that we could park where everyone else was, that is, on the side of the road. There so there.

5. Caserta. Reggia di Caserta.
Caserta is not a big town, with a population of approximately 80.000 inhabitants, and in this town the most beautiful palace and park complex of the Neapolitan Bourbon kings, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is located.
General information about the palace and parks:
http://de. napoli. waf. it/museo_dett /338-caserta/722-caserta-palast.html
http://www.capritravelguide.com/de/das-konigsschloss-caserta/ a>
The address of the palace, found on the Internet, led me somewhere in the wrong place during the preview, I did not see the palace and nearby, but I needed parking. Therefore, having carefully studied everything, we entered the address of the Royal Caserta - Hotel (former Jolly) into the navigator, located at: (may be useful to someone)
Viale Vittorio Veneto 13.81100 Caserta.
https://www. google. it /maps/@41.0700164, 14.3298063, 691m/data=! 3m1.1e3? hl=it
Before going there, you should carefully read the opening hours, Tuesday - day off. A lot of tourists were there on that very day, and left disappointed, respectively, with nothing.
The entrance ticket cost was 12.00 EUR/person.
You can also get there by train, the railway station is nearby, and the palace can be seen directly from the station.
Before reaching the hotel, we turn left into a paid, very large underground parking. After parking the car and going upstairs, we immediately find ourselves on the lawn in front of the palace. The palace was partially under restoration in June.

Aix-en-Provence.
Therefore, from the list of proposed excursions, we chose a trip to the town of Aix-en-Provence, which is located just 30 km from Marseille. By the way, I noticed that there are a little more excursions on the ship around the ports than the list on the website.
I don't remember exactly how much our excursion cost, but approximately 50.00 euros per person. The night before, a letter was brought to our cabin with information about which bar to be in tomorrow and what time. As I mentioned earlier, the friendly Russian-speaking Olesya was engaged in organizing all the sightseers. Depending on the language, everyone gets their numbers, which correspond to the bus number, then she tells where to get off the ship, and that's it, go on the bus.
Entering the bus, we found that among the Germans there are also Spaniards. (There were no excursions in Russian at all) It turns out that there were no Germans for the whole bus, just like the Spaniards, so we were all united in 1 bus.
Accordingly, there were 2 guides, and the information was given alternately in both languages.
I didn’t really like our guide, he spoke German rather poorly, he gave out much less information than the other one, but already in the town itself we could not withstand his “duck pace” and left to explore the city ourselves.
For example, on the way to the town, the Spanish guide told something for a long time, then we caught a couple of famous names - football player Zinedine Yazid Zidane, artist Paul Cezanne, maybe she mentioned someone else... we thought that our guide told us about them in in turn, he will also tell, probably, they come from these places, but not here - it was, he didn’t even say a word.
In Aix-en-Provence itself, our groups split up and each went his own way. We were led slowly, tediously and slowly along these streets, where we never crossed paths with our "Spanish" group.
