Where to go in March?
I would like to go to rest with my husband together in a place where we have not been yet. These are India and Sri Lanka. Maybe seasoned travelers will recommend a resort and a hotel? So that the sea is calm, the food is decent, so that there is where to go on excursions. Thank you all very much.

In general, of course, it is better to go to India in Sri Lanka since mid-March, the winds are stronger and the waves are bigger. The best beach in India is Cavelossim. There are no annoying locals and cows that will pester you. And there are many hotels. Not a bad 4-ka Dona Silvir Beach (Dona Sylvia Beach Resort), the British love it, the guys on the beach praised Dona Sa Maria. From this town you can drive to either side of the south and north, because it is located almost in the middle of Goa. And the beach itself is very wide and the sand is crisp. The river Sal does not penetrate through the lobule. We have been to almost all the beaches, but Cavelossim liked the most. The British told us that it is considered a beach for an elite holiday. No special elite was noticed. It was just great. I advise.

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely look into all the hotels. Maybe you can tell me more about excursions, so that they are not very tiring and interesting.

Tours with taxi drivers are possible. We approached the taxi drivers and asked. It cost $ 20 for two to the Dudhsagar waterfall, they take them to the town where they transfer to jeeps, it’s not expensive to pay for them separately. If it’s hard with English, then groupers with Russian speakers, we were fine with this, so we were with the Swedes, because there were 5-6 people in a jeep. Further, the nature of the river and waterfall are very interesting, you can swim, there are huge carps great. My husband even rode the liana. Then you come back and the taxi driver is lucky to ride and bathe on elephants, very cool. After that, you can walk through the so-called botanical garden where they will talk about various plants. But in general, we took a moped and drove ourselves, friends took bikes and drove along the beach to other beaches, but we were on the road. Right off the bat, of course, but then you get used to it. Have a nice holiday. And India in general is very relaxing.

Lying on a sun lounger is not for you, then here is a list of excursions to Sri Lanka:
Mountain peaks: You can admire the beauty of the island from a bird's eye view, that is, go on an excursion in a hot air balloon. Unforgettable impressions are guaranteed, for them you can get up early in the morning and spend an hour and a half of your time.
Elephant rides
Among other things, in Sri Lanka you can ride elephants, enjoy fishing or improve your body using the unique local Ayurveda technique.

Nature, elephants are, of course, great. And what about architecture, places of worship? Which city can be visited to feel the flavor?

I will join the above-Cavelossim in Goa is good, a taxi tour too))) we went to the Old City and the Temples .. really liked it .. we were twice with a child, so without extreme sports .. about waterfalls, you need to find out on the spot .. otherwise it happens that it will wash the road with rain, or something else ... you can drive to a neighboring state .. but it's better for a couple of days
аватар zhejna
The old city is a very interesting sight, it just becomes clear there that this is a former Portuguese colony, the temples are all in flowers, the believers are smart, in bright festive clothes, impressions - for a lifetime! Jungles on jeeps and waterfalls were less impressive, but this is the fault of Disney cartoons, which promised a sea of colors, and there reality is lianas, thickets, dust, reddish soil

To feel the flavor of Lanka, you have to go deep into the island. And visit the old capital - Kandy. Tea plantations of Nuva Eliya. In many ways, the color of the island lies in the richness of its natural and animal world. The waves on the beaches of Sri Lanka are very large. The calmest in this regard is Unawatuna Beach. It is usually recommended for families with children.

If you decide to go to Goa, it's better to take tours on the beach from the girls of the guides
They are three times cheaper. And the tours are the same. We, out of ignorance, took $ 130 from the tour operator for diving. We had to devote the whole day. At 6 am we were taken back to the hotel at 10 am. The whole diving was only 30 minutes. so as not to die of hunger))) Have a good rest!!
Have a nice holiday
аватар musya02
Vareha was laughed at)) how can you die of hunger there?))) although when we were the first time there was one sufferer in the hotel)) also claimed that there was nothing .. sausages)))

You know, I read reviews on different sites and made such conclusions. For food: breakfasts in hotels are poor, it is better to dine on the beaches in cafes. The kitchen is very spicy even "know spicy". On the beaches: dirty, with annoying merchants. Hotels are very mediocre, if you do not take into account the super expensive. You can’t see the Indian flavor, as the state is touristy, full of rasta lovers and those looking for nirvana. Sri Lanka is cleaner and more interesting in this regard, but there are already waves in March, as they wrote. Of course, I understand that India is not a rich country and you can’t see the Emirati service there, but you won’t be able to touch the ancient civilization in Goa. We are not newlyweds, party-goers, we are accustomed to a more respectable vacation, so I'm afraid my husband will later reproach me for ruining my vacation. Let India remain for me a fairy tale from the films of my childhood. Thanks to everyone who took their time, I'll look into other directions.
аватар Vareha
For example. Dubai is a fairy tale.
аватар musya02
ovkomissarova You read about northern Goa .. Southern is cleaner and quieter .. You can go to Kornatka for color.
аватар ovkomissarova
Dubai has already been seen, in March the water is cold there. We have not been to the Dominican Republic, but we have been to Cuba, so I have an idea about the ocean. The flight to the Dominican Republic is expensive. And besides the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean, where else is it warm? In the Maldives, the sea is a fairy tale, but in 10 days you will go crazy with boredom. And about the sausage - laughter with laughter, but my husband loses weight by a couple of kg for a vacation, there is nothing for him abroad, even at 5 *.

Thailand, Vietnam were not considered. I think these countries will suit you. If India is still one might think of Kerala.
аватар Vareha
We have been to Thailand twice. I really liked it in Phuket oooo !!!!! after India, my son said it’s better to go to Phuket for the third time)))) there the food is gorgeous. clean and the sea is calm)
аватар ovkomissarova
We were in Phuket in November 15, in Vietnam in April 14. Friends say that Pattaya is more interesting, but to fly to the same country in three months ... I also read about South Goa: a very tiring trip to Kornat, and in the evening there is nowhere to go . We were in Phuket so, we chose a hotel on the recommendation of Bang Tao Beach, and then we went to Patong by taxi for big money to walk and shop. Maybe consider a combined tour: both gov and the golden triangle?
аватар ovkomissarova
Oh, I didn't notice: Goa, of course!
аватар onr19
You can combine of course. But for some reason it seems to me that this is not your option. I'm afraid you will be disappointed. Or tune in initially, that you can see not what you want. In my opinion, just the Golden Triangle for people who are already familiar with India and have made certain conclusions about this country for themselves, wishing to learn even more.
аватар ovkomissarova
Thank you onr19. I will not persuade my husband then, I will look for other options.
аватар Lesy_1978
Vietnam is very good, I liked it better than Thailand. And there is something to see and the locals are not sticky and the hotels are very good. You can go, for example, to a warm source to treat the joints. And the food is super tasty and not expensive. And again, you can drive to Laos or Cambodian. If you are interested, look at the Diamond Bay Resort & Spa4 or Golden Rain 3 hotels. If you are interested, I will tell you what to see.
аватар Vareha
Hanyan. How do you like the direction?
аватар ovkomissarova
Vareha, maybe you meant Hainan? We were there too, everything that was interesting, we looked.
аватар ovkomissarova
Lesy 1978, You know, my friend and her husband have already been to Pattaya twice, and were going to go on the third, but at the last moment they decided to go to Vietnam. She returned two days ago and, according to her, in Pattaya, the tour is still much more interesting: everything is closer and more accessible, and much more interesting.
аватар Vareha
Then to Baikal))) live in log cabins. Take a steam bath in a Russian bath.
To VedaM
аватар ovkomissarova
We rested in Nha Trang, on Vinpearl Island. I also liked the food there, and at the beginning of 2014 everything was very inexpensive. True, we didn’t visit many places with our children: my husband flew to Saigon, and I and my children went to Monkey Island. Once we got out into the city, we did not dare to go to Dalat with our children.
аватар ovkomissarova
Vareha, do not believe it, we live in a log house and take a steam bath)))) in Siberia, only Western. I want to warm my bones in the sun.
аватар Vareha
)))))))))) then you are talking to us (kvzylorda) in Russian. Sand vzd. camels. similar to India only a little cleaner
we come to you to vedam. my husband really wants to see them)))))) the only negative is that it’s cheaper to fly abroad than to come to us
