Which hotel to choose so that the beach is nearby (200 meters)
I don't know anything about India. But I really want to go to the sea. Can you tell me if there are strong waves? Which beach is better to choose so that it is comfortable to enter the water with a child. Thanks.

There are no problems with the beaches in India in terms of entering the sea, this is not Egypt. And what region (resort) are you considering? The coastline of India is very large. Resorts are different both in price and in terms of the principle of relaxation. And if you are eating with a child, then I would seriously recommend including the surrounding infrastructure in the analysis. It is in Turkey in every second hotel there are yogurts, soups, confectionery and so on. In India, breakfasts in hotels are completely different, and in my opinion, in addition to the proximity to the water, if you have a child, there should be the proximity of a normal supermarket, and not just a tent with fruit and water.

definitely the south of Goa .. the beaches, in principle, are all good .. I don’t agree about Colva .. it’s not so crowded for an amateur .. we were in Cavellosim the last time it was quieter there and there are a lot of shops and cafes all different and cheaper than on Colva ..a How old is the child?

Svetlaya56 asked a question about India, and for some reason everyone is forcing GOA on her.
For me, if we talk about India, for example, Kerala, the state of Karnataka, the Andaman Islands is actively developing in terms of tourism, this is all much more interesting than GOA, and if finances allow, then in general the Lakshadweep Islands can be seen. You don’t need to go to the east where it will be more difficult to enter the water, but there will already be corals. GOA is only 100 km of beaches, while India has a coast of 6 thousand km + islands.

Yes, no one imposes anything))) it’s just that Goa is a trodden place, many have been there, they can advise .. and the prices are quite pleasant .. and what does it mean only 100 beaches .. do you think this is not enough? nothing to choose from?

Not 100 beaches, but 100 km - this is the approximate length of the beaches of GOA, in general, the beaches there are very similar, slightly different in sand, and the main difference is in the infrastructure, somewhere more fun and noisy, somewhere quieter and cleaner. For those who eat for the first time, according to the photo taken early in the morning without tourists, you can’t make out how they differ. Moving from beach to beach along the coast, many do not notice that they are already in a new place, right?

India is not only GOA, it is much bigger, more colorful and interesting

I went from the Labyrinth to the Dona Sylvia hotel, this is just South Goa, access to the beach directly from the territory, we can assume that the beach is private, no one comes from outside, although it is possible, there were almost no waves ... Mothers with children swam, and on days when the wave rises, you can swim in the pool on the territory, there is a children's "compartment".

You can also have a good rest with a baby in North Goa, but in no case should Baga-Calangute-Candolim, but consider the beaches of Morjim / Ashvem. On both these beaches you can find a hotel that suits your criteria. Only there the sand is black, there is such a peculiarity, and the area itself is very pleasant, such a rural atmosphere.
In South Goa, you can have a good rest at The Byke Old Anchor on Cavelossim beach, the budget will not hit hard. If you are going to India for the first time, then do not bother with other resorts, look at Goa, feel India, and if you are imbued, then you can already visit other coasts and states next time. Have a nice holiday :)

Thank you ALL for your replies to my question. We are not great tourists, we have only visited Turkey several times and Phuket, Pattaya. To be honest, speaking about India, I had in mind just GOA (well known). Be sure to look on the internet for all the hotels and beaches that were recommended. The child is not small, 9 years old, so we don’t bother with food too much. The main thing is that there are no giant waves. This is always a risk for those who cannot swim. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!!! HEALTH AND GOOD TRAVEL!!!

There are no giant waves, but keep an eye on a 9-year-old child. And about nutrition andre... absolutely right. Be sure to read this. We are delighted with Goa, but nutrition for a child is serious. It's not really Turkey at all.
By the way, andre..., is there a sea in Karnataka? We were at Nanu Resort on Colva Beach.

my cub was in Goa at 6 and 7 years old .. the waves didn’t bother, the main thing is that dad was nearby))) he ate everything, although he was very fastidious at home .. so feel free to fly in yours))))

I don’t agree about food, all cafes have chicken, shrimp in batter or breaded, there is no garlic or spices at all, there are omelettes, cereals ... plus vegetables, I think you can ask to cook a dish without spices, they love children, they will go to the meeting, this is the biggest problem)
