Why don't people swim in Goa?
This may seem like a strange question at first glance. But it surprises me a little. The question is addressed to the people who were there, not tour agents! By opening youtube too, you can see quite a lot of different pictures with crowds of bathing people in the same Egypt or the Emirates, Thailand. But for some reason, happy vacationers in Goa do not practically swim in the ocean, at least it seemed to me that way, looking at different videos of tourists. Is the water very cloudy there or is this a trend now? Did you swim there freely, dive? Once again I ask representatives of tour companies to rest a bit, thank you!)

elementary - there is a shallow and strong current. going deep is almost impossible.

Anetka-Gan, tell me, please. We would like to visit Goa and consider this trip as a beach holiday. If swimming is problematic, then it may be better to choose something else. Or go to Goa for excursions? Thank you in advance for your response.

People go to GOA for relaxation. I love to swim, in principle, it gave me great pleasure to ride the waves. it has its own thrill. many, of course, swim far away there, I didn’t really succeed, and it doesn’t matter.
the beaches there are good, many different. paradise corner. many go to the north of GOA for parties. Excursions there are not very many, the tour operators are expensive. you have to find everything yourself. if you wait a week, I will post my report on GOA.

Thanks for the answer! Looking forward to the photo report.

Please indicate Anetka-Gan and the prices (excursions, food, and what else to put in the budget), otherwise I am also considering this direction. I am really looking forward to the report and pictures. Thank you very much in advance.)))

Anetka-gan, here pliz throw off the link to the report, it will be curious. I want to go in winter but haven't decided where exactly yet

I'm not a packer, I don't go on tours. I had an independent trip throughout India, so I can paint the main ones. I’m already writing a report, I’ll probably make a summary on prices separately.
аватар Anetka-gan
I’ll definitely throw it, while here on my blog you can read reports on other regions of India =)

It has already been written more than once that there are practically no excursions in the state of Goa as such, all of them are squeezed out of the fingers by tour representatives. For vivid impressions, you need to go to other states of India. If you are limited by the duration of your stay in the country, it will be difficult to choose the time for long-distance excursions, even to neighboring states. In Goa itself, you can wander around Panaji, go to the night and day markets, which, in my opinion, take place on Wednesdays, in one of the reserves there is a small zoo with animals that "should" live in these places ....

onr19, it's about swimming and the ocean in the post!

My family and I swam, including the daughter of which at that time was not even two years old. It was impossible to get her out of the water at all. Not only we swam, but also those around us, both Europeans and the Indians themselves. The latter mainly came to rest on weekends. The water is really not very transparent, we didn’t dive, I’m not an expert in this regard, but in my opinion there is no point in diving in Goa. You won’t see anything remarkable in the coastal water. Yes, and you should not swim far, as already mentioned, strong currents.

entertainment on the beach - to catch crabs (which are in huge numbers), collect live starfish and shells with living creatures inside. there are all sorts of dangerous creatures in the ocean. fishermen pulled huge snakes in the morning. flocks of dolphins swam to the shore. beautiful!!!
аватар onr19
It is clear that the fishermen pull out different creatures - this is the ocean, but there is no one near the shore except for these same crabs of various sizes and small fish. Although probably single copies can wander. One Indian lived nearby with us, but not from the locals, but from the vacationers, an uncle of a rather respectable age, so he fearlessly swam every day for tens of meters from the coast. He did not look like a madman who would risk his life just like that. And the same fishermen near the shore calmly enter the water.

Hi all! to swim you need to go south to Palolem. Pts beautiful bay, clear water and almost no waves.
аватар onr19
Palolem is a beautiful beach but quite crowded during the season.
аватар Anetka-gan
in-in. everyone flocks there.
аватар TRACKovna
well then, flounder in the north in muddy waters !!! crowded everywhere, and where there are no people, it’s scary to swim there!
аватар Anetka-gan
what a categorical!
аватар marinazerkala
TRACKovna from what
you took that in the north there is muddy water .... all the beaches from vagator to arambol with beautiful calm beaches and moderate people))) and ashvem and Morzhim are not inferior in their beauty to Palolem)
аватар onr19
Y-yes .... somehow on the Goa forums, I usually don’t meet with such rude categoricalness .... And really, why is it that the water has become muddy in the North ....?
аватар Lina23S
Oh, and I would love to change our frosts now for “muddy” water in the very north of Goa.)))
аватар TRACKovna
where did I get it from? I have seen all this more than once ... and I have something to compare with .... there is a question, I answered it .. PS I myself always live in the north.

Now I'm in Sri Lanka, here is a paradise for swimmers....
аватар onr19
Sri Lanka has many kilometers of beautiful deserted beaches. But there are many more dangerous places for swimming. It is very beautiful in the very south, but swimming is just problematic, because there are huge waves. For swimming, you need to look for small coves.
аватар TRACKovna
here I am in the bay and live !!! and just in the south of the island !!!
аватар onr19
Were there in January last year , hello Sri Lanka :)
аватар Daffka
Unawatuna in Sri Lanka.
Goa - South Goa is the most beautiful and everyone wants to go north, because there is simply no money for the South and all the entertainment is many times more expensive than in the north :)
