What to expect at customs?
Hello, I'm going to fly to my grandfather in Israel for 10 days. I'm flying alone. From the documents you will have a passport, a return ticket and information with an address. I am 26 years old, not married. What can I expect at customs? Can there be any difficulties? I am flying alone for the first time, very scary!

You ask your grandfather to write you his full address and phone number in Hebrew, and it would be nice if he wrote a few sentences - you are a granddaughter, is he waiting for you? provide housing, etc.
You know, if someone had given me such advice on the way to Europe, I would have laughed that there were some letters to their border guards. And such letters from compatriots greatly influence the Israeli passport control services.
A young girl was traveling with us, with ordinary acquaintances, and with a clean passport, and so such a letter and the fact that she was met were very useful to her.

She flew like you, at 26, not married, one to a friend, the other when you could not get a visa to Israel.
At the border they asked where and why in English - I told them in English. We got a little excited when she said that her friend's name was Alla .... they asked "is she not an Arab?" I said that I was not an Arab, that I was Ukrainian, and I cited Alla Pugacheva as an example :)))) They didn’t ask anything else.
And another joke - in Boryspil, as I understand it, they were looking for my manicure set in the luggage - they mixed everything in a suitcase ... And back (from Israel) SUCH a service - open your suitcase, and now only this and that bag of all of us are interested - herself I showed it, then tied it up, and in this form I received everything in Kyiv! So don't worry - it won't be worse than in Kyiv :)
And have a good trip, I really liked it :)

A letter from grandfather can be very useful! If you do not speak English or Hebrew, do not worry and do not rush - you will definitely be provided with a Russian-speaking customs officer. It's great if your grandfather will meet you or at least wait on the phone! Good luck!

Everything is very individual .. I flew from Kyiv to T-Aviv with my sister. They didn’t ask questions either in Boryspil or in Tel Aviv, you can say there were no customs at all .. But they turned the bags back upside down and checked for about forty minutes, and just slowly (I left with the apparatus and chatted with my girlfriend, I remembered that Ukrainian passengers were waiting for her and again swarms in the suitcase). Gifts: wine, olive oil, olives, dirt, they put in their own separate boxes. Moreover, the handles came off right away in these boxes, but the customs replies: "do not worry, everything will be okay." In Boryspil, of course, not everything was okay ..
