The Red Sea is clean and very salty, but not very warm, but what amazing sunsets and sunrises here! We took a 5-star hotel, friends had already booked Dan, we had to follow them, and in general we are satisfied. I don’t really like big buildings, but they are all like that here, up, not in breadth. We settled on the 6th floor, a beautiful view of the sea! The room is very large, in the room there is a sofa and a table, and a kettle.

We settled on the 6th floor, a beautiful view of the sea! The room is very large, in the room there is a sofa and a table, and a kettle. Spacious bathroom with bath and shower and separate toilet. Wifi is free and everywhere. The design is a bit old, especially those blue and yellow carpets in the corridors, I think the hotel will be refurbishing soon. But everything works, in general there are no complaints. The food is beyond praise! If you are planning to lose weight, this is not the place for you! We went to breakfast for an hour and a half and ate so much that we were full before dinner. What is not here. A lot of national, everything is very tasty. They love and know how to eat in Israel. The territory of the hotel is small, in fact, a swimming pool and sunbeds, there is a hydromassage, it's nice to walk along the promenade in the evenings. The resort itself is not very big at all, you can walk through the whole place in an hour, but it is cozy. We liked.

There are not many hotels in Eilat that can be considered real "five". These include three hotels built less than 20 years ago - Herods, Dan and Royal Beach. Each has its own advantages. It helps to make the rest comfortable and carefree, can satisfy the most incredible wishes of guests with claims and VIPs.
If all is well, then his participation is not needed - there is something to do in Eilat. There are many different videos posted on youtube. A few useful ones are posted here: http://www. youtube. com/playlist? list=PLUhoEbdOwe3Arsdg2AgPo55uOIXYjHkEO
And if, God forbid, some kind of trouble happens, then tourists can be sure that they will not be left alone with her, that there is a person who will help them. And his name is Vladimir.
As for the hotel itself, it can really be worth the money (about $150/night per person in a double room with breakfast).
Everything is designed in a modern style, clean and tidy. The standard rooms are quite decent, but there may be a problem with the view - some face the sea and Aqaba (Jordan), and some face the sea and Eilat. Personally, I was fine with that, but if anyone needs a full sea view, I recommend the superior rooms. They are called Deluxe Sea & Pool View and cost almost $50 more than standard. If you want not only a full sea view, but also a higher floor (12 or 13 - the topmost) and free snacks, drinks, fruits all day, then you will have to pay the same amount for an Executive room. Just keep in mind that children are not allowed in the Lounge, located on the 14th floor (there are not just drinks like coffee, tea, soda, but also alcohol).
The food at the hotel is top notch! Breakfast is included in the price, but you have to pay extra for dinner. They are not cheap, but worth it! Huge selection of dishes, various delicacies...
The hotel area is great.
Like all hotels located in the tourist zone, it is quite compact. But at the same time very well-appointed. I especially liked the heated pool!
Dan's beach was renovated last spring. Sun loungers - free of charge. Passage through the pool and promenade. By the way, the promenade is very quiet (the most active party in the other part of the Eilat promenade is where the Rimonim, Leonardo Plaza and Hilton hotels are).
I recommend the Dan Hotel to tourists who are accustomed to hotels with the highest possible comfort and want the same during their beach holiday in Eilat. I also recommend to families with children (there are comfortable accommodation options + a good playroom).

Lived in this hotel in early November 2010 - very lucky with the number. We were given a room on the 10th floor overlooking the sea and pool. Unlucky with the time of arrival - the Jews know all our holidays, so for the first 4 days we paid 590 dollars, then - 460 dollars. But in general, the room was worth that kind of money - a great view, a spacious terrace.

The terrace offers amazing views of the bay, the pool, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. We also observed crowds of tourists staggering and screaming on the embankment until one in the morning, and served all the musical and vocal numbers from nearby restaurants (and all this abruptly ends at some point between 12 and one in the morning). Since the air temperature was about 20 at night, and there were two sunbeds on the terrace, it was very convenient to sleep in the fresh air, to the music, inhaling the smell of flowers and tangerine trees growing on the terrace - the fruits of which were already ripe and tasted good (tested - I recommend).
Terrace options:
for tea drinking - there is a table with chairs,
to monitor vacationers on balconies and terraces,
for sunbathing, including without clothes (just hide behind the parapet, in Israel they don’t even sunbathe topless, and it’s hard to imagine what will happen to a Jew if he sees a bare ass).
Another option for using the terrace was suggested by the Italians who settled nearby - their passionate moans and other sounds were pleasant entertainment for us sitting on the neighboring terrace. . .
As for the technique, everything worked, although not without problems. But we knew from the reviews that the toilet in the rooms washes out every other time - so the advice is to go shit in the toilets located in the lobby. There, too, the flush does not always work, but this is not your problem. We did not immediately figure out the jacuzzi - the reason is us - we do not know English. Three times we invited the masters to fix the non-working nozzles for us, and then it turned out that the button for turning them on was mounted in the corridor (it was a terrible red color and not signed, so we were afraid to press it for a long time - then curiosity won - after pressing it, the hydromassage turned on) . Obviously, no one in the room dared to turn on the Jacuzzi for a long time, because along with the water from the nozzles, a lot of dirt and even a cockroach or a bug similar to it got out into the bath (we are not entomologists and did not begin to understand). But what a delight - we did it!!!
Meals, as in all hotels in Israel, are kosher, but we were mentally prepared for this and did not resent the lack of meat for breakfast and milk for dinner - they don’t come here to overeat, but to join the culture of the great Jewish people. (Note - those who have been in Muslim countries - they know, you will drive a little away from the resort area - there is no paper in any toilet, but there is a pot of water - such a culture. )
There are homeless people, but you don’t have to strain, they don’t sunbathe next to you on the beach.
There seems to be no prostitution, but the locals suggested how to deal with it - take a newspaper, order a masseuse and hint... (We didn’t try it, we don’t recommend it. ) (Note - this is easier in Tel Aviv - business cards are scattered on the pavement every evening at luxury hotels. )
Theft - after reading previous reviews, we tried not to let go of things, which we advise everyone. However, when we checked in, while we were making out a room, one of the vacationers grabbed our bag. We noticed in time and explained to him that he was wrong. Keep your valuables in the safe, but keep in mind that the hotel will reimburse the loss of valuables from the safe in the amount of no more than 2 thousand dollars (as it says there).
The sea is about 25 degrees - the Jews do not swim - it is too cold for them. We recommend snorkeling near the border with Egypt - there are coral reefs - very beautiful. A taxi ride from the hotel costs 35 shekels (for convenience, consider that a shekel is equal to 10 rubles, in reality - 8.6 rubles).
More about the hotel - they cleaned often and efficiently, we did not give a tip !! ! There are always Russian-speaking managers at the reception - problems are solved quickly. In the evening on the 2nd floor there is a daily show (circus, dances, performances of show groups, including people from Russia).
Before the show, we recommend sitting in the bar listening to the piano music of pianists from Russia - a lot of familiar melodies, although there are also classics.
Our tip for choosing a room - don't take the cheap one - might end up with a view of the neighboring hotel. (I do not recommend). Superior rooms (and increased prices, respectively) give the right to visit the VIP room on the 14th floor - do not deny yourself this pleasure - a lot of wines, whiskey, skates; snacks that are easy to turn into lunch or dinner. As well as the availability of computers with the Internet and a gorgeous view of the local airport, the city and the sea. (I recommend!!! )
Excursions - in our opinion, Timna and Petra - are like pyramids, it can be noted that you have visited, but if you are not an archaeologist, you will not get great pleasure, but spend money and time. We were at the Dead Sea and Jerusalem last time - the second time there is not interesting (tested on myself).
The most expensive tour is a free sightseeing tour of the city with a visit to the jewelry exchange. How much money was spent there - I won’t say - I personally promised Azik, the owner of the exchange, about this.
We advise you to visit a dolphinarium, an oceanarium, swim on a coral reef, and you don’t have to take an excursion from a guide - take a taxi (35 shekels) and go to the place, there are always tickets there. And on the reef everything is free.
Conclusion - insist on a joyful holiday. And all will be well. We have rested in many countries - the rest in Eilat is one of the best...
Then we spent a week in Tel Aviv, but that's another story. . .

Very pleasant impressions about the hotel and in general about the rest in Eilat! Spacious, clean rooms, overlooking the sea. There is an electric kettle, coffee, tea in the room. Pleasant service staff (service is not intrusive, like Turkey, Egypt). Variety in the choice of dishes for breakfast and dinner (tasty fish and meat, a lot of cool pastries, a good assortment of tea, juices.

Friends, I have never been involved in writing reviews and reviews, but I want to protect everyone from the mistakes that I myself have already made. I was with a young man. It turned out to snatch a vacation for a week, and the visa to Israel was just canceled, and of course the temperature of +40 was very captivating. We were among the first tourists who arrived without a visa. There were no problems at customs. We flew from St. Petersburg to Tel Aviv at 7 am and waited until 2 pm for a connecting flight to Eilat. We tried to take a taxi, but the price for a 5-hour trip is 800 euros, which is somehow not very acceptable. We flew on local airlines, to say that it was chattering and it was terribly creepy even for a person with iron nerves, to say nothing! I think the pilot himself was surprised how he flew on this wreck. The airport is located in the heart of the city of Eilat, the hotel can be reached in 5-10 minutes by car. And this is where the fun begins:
Dan Eilat Hotel - declares itself as a 5 * premium class hotel, etc. etc.
I assure you, it does not even reach 2! And what is most surprising, all the locals with whom I managed to communicate agree with this. they all confirmed our fears that none of these hotels (Hilton, Royal Bitch, Herods, Dan) passed any qualification, and what surprised us the most. It turns out that Dan is better than all those that are in the vicinity. That the Hilton, Royal Beach hotels are located in the very center of the global chicken coop can be seen by looking at the map of the city. Between the hotels and the sea there is a street that you need to cross to get to the beach. And this street is littered with small stalls with merchants, i. e. a market that is incredibly noisy and teeming around the clock. Therefore, do not even hope to open the balcony at night! Noise and din!
But that's not the worst : )
The beach of all the hotels is not fenced, they are separated by some invisible lines, which only the deeply initiated are aware of. And homeless people can also lie next to you on the next couch. What we see every day. Going to the sea to swim together - it was a dream! Hurry, hurry, before the homeless come.
Service:
The staff are mostly Arabs or Israelis who have just left the army and have to work for some minimum to receive benefits from the state. Therefore, they don't care about you. They're here for the paper!
Before our eyes, there were more than once cases when hotel employees were rude, rude and almost used force against hotel visitors. The same applies to the children's room. Animators do not care about your children, they can put them on a mattress in the pool and leave. And what will happen to them next, no one cares.
We call the staff!
Moving on, the atmosphere.
I'm not a racist. I have nothing against the Jews, but this is an extremely uncultured nation. Perhaps the reason for this is that the state was formed less than 60 years ago, but is this period really not enough to teach people the elementary rules of etiquette. They roar forever. When you go down to breakfast in the morning (worse than the cheapest eatery) there is such noise and din that you instantly descend from heaven to earth. The staff does not know where to get spoons or forks and does not help in any way in the search. there is no question of laying a table at all! Sami! All Sami! Why are you here to rest or what?
Well, again, "highly cultured" Jews can easily light a six-point cigarette when you have breakfast nearby, practically exhaling in your face.
Hotel condition:
What you see in the picture on the sites are very well edited photos in 3D. You are being misled. The hotel is terrible. The elevator works only on even-numbered floors on Shabbat))) He is also a Jew - an elevator, he is also supposed to rest, so please walk!
The condition of the plumbing, bathroom and toilet is disgusting. The shell is attached to the snot and practically dangles in the air. A curtain weighs by the bath, which has not been washed, it seems, all these 12 years that the hotel has existed. The towels stink of chlorine.
The toilet flushes every other time. (Maybe this is also some kind of their sacred action (as with the elevator), I don’t know, I haven’t delved into the details)
The rooms are small, if you do not specify that you need a sea view, they will be happy to accommodate you where there is none.
After visiting a terrible cafeteria for breakfast for the first time, we decided as white people to order breakfast in the room. We called the reception, they said that for some reason we didn’t have a menu, they brought it to us with grief in half after the 3rd call... And then we wake up in the morning and see that our menu is also hanging from the back of the door! And of course no one brought us any breakfast. We go down to find out at the reception, they don’t even apologize, they say that the staff probably didn’t notice, have breakfast in the dining room. Although you have to pay for the delivery of breakfast to the room. They don't even want to make money. . .
The sunbeds on the beach and by the pool are dirty and old. It’s disgusting to even look at them, and lying on them doesn’t respect yourself at all!
And they also have an amazing rule to close all the beaches at 6 pm, while the sun will shine for another 2 hours. And at 6, if you yourself do not deign to get out of the beach or from the pool area, they will help you! Moreover, their delicacy before our eyes reached the assault in some cases!
After the first such incident, we went to complain to the management. We were spoken to by the manager, who stood with the look of a guilty kitten and could not connect two words. The next day we were sent a bottle of wine to our room, but you must admit that this ridiculous gesture is not worth a single egg, while for a stay in this hotel $ 1300 was paid per week / per person.
And finally, the service from the beach at the hotel, when we didn’t go two hours earlier from the beach, told us that we can get out to our fuking country (fuking country) if we don’t like something.
What actually happened and for which I am extremely happy. God be with him with this Israel.
I'd rather go to Turkey or Egypt 8 times, if once again it turns out to leave urgently.
They don't even want to make money. . .
