Has anyone stayed in a shared 8-bed room?
If someone lived in an eight-bed dormitory, share your impressions. I want to know where things are stored there and if there is a refrigerator, at least in the common kitchen. Thanks

Do not stay in hostels in 4-6-8 bed rooms if you are traveling alone, if you have never been to this particular hostel and if the room is shared...
Hostels are so different that it doesn't even make sense to describe their pros and cons. The hostel is such a hostel, designed for traveling young people. It will most likely be difficult for you to sleep in such a room. But it's quite possible to meet new extraordinary people)))
Of course, often the price can serve as a hint of what level this institution is. But not always. We happened to be in such places with a company of 4 people ... What can I say, until you find a normal hostel, you need to drive through real "dens" ... It was even scary to go into some. Therefore, carefully choose not even a room, but the hostel itself! Search, read reviews.
There were hostels from which the smell of grass was a kilometer away, drinking until the morning, people sleeping on the steps and other delights ...

But even if you are lucky enough to find a solid 8-bed room, you will have to store your things in it. Maximum-paid safe at the reception, the size of a Soviet parcel.
If the hostel is very profitable for you in terms of money, try to settle near the station and keep your things in your luggage.
As a rule, there is a full-fledged kitchen shared on the floor or on the "block". The refrigerator should be in the kitchen - 99%, maybe in the room, but in the 8-seater ... hardly so lucky ;-)
Showers are also in the hallway.
The condition of the kitchen, showers, toilets, furniture and so on is so different. There are hostels that will pull on 3 *, and in many ways they will surpass them in service. And there are those that will remind you of Soviet hostels.
In a normal hostel there should be a 24-hour reception, Wi-Fi, not only access, but also "shared" laptops or computers.

From personal experience: last year, choosing an inexpensive hotel for an overnight stay in Israel, we settled on Netanya hotels (the location of the town is very good, there were no problems traveling around the country not in transport, not in money, besides, the city is small, compact, beach-sea everything is within walking distance). We chose the cheapest hotel (Palace 3 *), but for an overnight stay and knowing what awaits us there, we are quite satisfied (the room cost us only $ 600 for 11 days), now considering a stop in Tel Aviv, nothing below 160 for a double room have not found yet. I would not advise you to go to the hostel alone, find at least like-minded people or consider stopping at the monastery (they accept pilgrims).
