Remembering how she herself sought out information about Fr. Bali before going there, I would venture to make a few practical conclusions. Perhaps they will be useful to someone. So:

In general, despite its duration (about 12 hours), it is not tiring. A special load on the legs, even if they are healthy. I recommend to take with you special socks for travelers. They are sold in pharmacies. A very useful thing. It will relieve you of swelling and discomfort during long journeys or flights.

Choice of vacation spot:

There are practically no bad hotels at the level of 4 * and 5 *. You can make small comments or note individual pluses for each. In some, food is better, in others - the territory, in others - rooms or the beach. But they are all acceptable, comfortable, and the staff is helpful and polite. In the vast majority of hotels there are Russian-speaking specialists who will help you and give answers to your questions.

The most important thing when choosing a hotel is to understand well what kind of vacation you are focused on, and choose a hotel in the area that best meets your expectations.

The Kuta area is a lively, party area. Lots of clubs, discos, restaurants, shops. Mostly young people, including rockers, bikers, surfers. The constant wave and the absence of low tides especially attract the latter here. Although there is an audience that is older and quieter. It does not have high-class hotels, although there are quite decent ones. Those who position themselves as 5* are in fact a solid 4*. There are also very peculiar hotels, such as, for example, Hard Rock. It overlooks the Kuta embankment. Famous place among surfers. Design, atmosphere, daily evening club hangouts correspond to the name. The hotel is not cheap. It is comfortable, has good territory, swimming pools, decent cuisine.

I am talking about it only because it is not very standard and can be cool for young people. I do not think that for people looking for peace and solitude, it is suitable. Perhaps Romada Bintang Bali is more acceptable for them. It is not only cheaper, but has a decent area, its own beach, which always rolls. If you want to retire, you can rent a villa, which in this hotel is very decent and not very expensive. And then you can lead a completely isolated existence, and if you want to go out into the busier hotel area or hang out in the establishments of Kuta. Well, if you, for example, would like to see the island as much as possible during your vacation, and buy something, and visit discos and restaurants, then you can take the Discovery Kartika Plaza option. And although it does not have such a large territory, its rooms are very decent, the food is normal, and the prices for rooms of this class are ridiculous by Balinese standards.

The hotels that I name are by no means the only ones, and you should not get hung up on them. This is just an example of how you can choose the option that suits you, depending on what you want. And don't spend too much money.

But even for those who do not live in the Kuta area, getting to it is elementary. From the farthest Nusa Dua hotel, a taxi will cost you a maximum of $10.

The Nusa Dua area I would call a reservation for tourists. Even the entrance to it is blocked by a barrier and controlled by the police. Hotels, hotels, hotels… They adjoin each other, all worthy, calm enough. Good service, not very bad territory, normal food. There is a special shopping center Bali Collection in the area. It is designed exclusively for tourists, the entrance is guarded by the police even with the passage through a metal detector. It has shops and many restaurants. For the Balinese, the prices there are huge, but for us they are normal.

It must be said that a number of very good hotels stand in a chain and have one coastal area where you can walk: Nikko - St. Regis-Laguna-Westin-Nusa Dua Beach. This is not a promenade, but just a coastline. Walking along it can be quite pleasant even at low tide. Fishermen standing in the water, children flying kites on the shore. All hotels are super, each has its own characteristics. I would highlight Nusa Dua Beach with its win-win, exceptional cuisine and Westin pools. Especially - St. Regis, which opened only in September of the previous year and provides a premium vacation.

The Jimbaran area is a calm, secluded place. Almost all hotels are on the rocks. So are the beaches. The exception, perhaps, is InterContinental. The hotel is located at the bottom of the mountain, adjacent to the village, famous for its fish restaurants. The hotel is not cheap, but the combination of price and quality exactly match. By the way, there is even a babysitter for $5 per hour.

I would especially like to mention the Ritz Carlton hotel.

The hotel itself, in my opinion, is not very interesting. I would say about him that he has great potential, but disgusting management. But his SPA center is something special. He is unique. All hotels have SPA centers, but they are traditional. What you can get in this, you will not get anywhere else. It can be used not only if you live in a hotel. You can order from another hotel, the difference in cost will not be big. Arriving is no problem, taxis are cheap. Highly recommend! Try the 2 hour jet massage. Human hands cannot do this. Under the supervision of trainers, you will be massaged with water from your heels to the top of your head. The atmosphere, the surrounding design - I'm sure you can't help but like it. And the cost of the service is very reasonable. In March, it was about $ 40, now I think a little more expensive.

Special words about Ubud hotels. They need to be seen! There is no ocean there.

They are located in mountain gorges, among the jungle, waterfalls and mountain rivers. Solitude, meditation, yoga. The highest service. The prices are not small, but considering what you get for them, they are not even very high. And not as big as you might expect. For those who are looking for solitude and merging with nature, this is the place.

I have not named all areas for recreation. There is also Sanur, chosen by locals and Taiwanese. And areas of the north, with their black sands. Everything that I wrote in such detail, I did only to show how important it is to choose the right option for yourself. They are there for every taste and budget. Don't expect to just see on about. Bali white sand and bounty island feel. For this you need to go to the south of Thailand.

There are no problems with this at all. I am talking about 4* and 5* hotels. There it is worthy everywhere. Somewhere better, somewhere worse, but acceptable everywhere. There is an abundance of fruits in the markets and they cost a penny.

In general, I would recommend taking only breakfast at the hotel. You can eat fruits. After the heat, the beach and the pool is not particularly desirable. And in the evening you should go to local restaurants. Getting to the Jimbaran area, even if you don't live there, is not difficult or expensive. It is famous for its fish restaurants. Divided into two parts. One adjoining the Jimbaran hotels is old and traditional. It has 6 - 7 restaurants. Cooking with old technologies. And although the smoke from burning coconuts is significant, there is more traditional flavor. The other part of Jimbaran has restaurants that cook with modern technology and without smoke. You choose. But the fact that you yourself can choose the seafood that will be prepared for you, that your table will be on the sand by the sea, creeping up to your feet. And above the head of the star - this is guaranteed. Well, the prices are ridiculous.

Choosing not the cheapest dishes, it is quite possible to meet $ 10 per person. Just don't rush into the first restaurant you see. Still, prices and quality differ. Look, appreciate. This, too, might be interesting.

Well, if you want to buy some food for yourself, then one of the options is the Bali Collection shopping center. Free minibuses run from each hotel to it. The time of their departure can be specified at the reception. If you wish, you can also eat in the center. There are many restaurants there. This is of course for those based in the Nusa Dua area. But I would recommend shopping in supermarkets more. Finding them is not a problem. You can ask depending on the region where you are located. But the price of, say, beer and liquor is half the price of Bali Collection.

Doesn't make any work. Taxis are cheap, comfortable and plentiful.

But for those who are not very fond of ancient temples, this is not an option. Although it is striking how different the standard of living is on about. Bali and the rest of Indonesia.

It seems to me that for many it would be interesting to watch a theatrical performance - a performance of the traditional kechak dance at the Uluwatu temple. Moreover, it is at the temple, and not the presentation option offered by some hotels. There you will also see the forest of monkeys. And the temple itself. And an amazingly beautiful sunset. There will be something interesting for every taste. Just remove shiny objects and glasses in advance. Monkeys will drag them off before you have time to look back.

The park of birds and reptiles also seemed interesting to me. Especially the birds. Interesting, and you can take beautiful photos.

For lovers of extreme sports, rafting is probably the most suitable option. Tried. There is something for every taste and complexity. But everything is super organized, the attendants are professional and, it seems to me, the risks are minimized.

In short, there is a lot to do in Bali. The only thing that seems to me, maybe you should not rush and take the proposed excursion tours in full, but agree on their individual parts. The ones that interest you the most.

About about. Bali has a lot to say. For the numerous Japanese and Australians on it, this is the same as Egypt or Turkey for us. For us it's exotic. In some ways, it will not meet the expectations, but in some ways it will exceed these expectations. One thing is for sure: Bali is worth the trip.

I tried to write about what, in my opinion, may be useful to someone. If that's the case. then glad.

And I would like to give you one last piece of advice. Since you are going to fly so far and spend a lot of money on it, it may be worth considering to include a visit to Singapore in your trip. Better to do it on the way back.

This will not increase your financial costs much, but what you see will probably make the strongest impression on you. Singapore is something! But that's a separate conversation.
