They say Hungary has risen in price: what are the prices in Budapest this year?
Can you please tell me whether it is worth going to Budapest for a few days and in winter? Interested in prices - requires a budget holiday. All you need is a visa, a hotel, etc... Is it possible to book a hotel (no more than 3) on your own (I know where cheap plane tickets are)? How to explain to them if English is not native! :) Is it possible to find a Russian-speaking guide on the spot? Is it worth it to start an independent visit or look for a tour?

The easiest way, of course, is through a travel agency - since you will need to personally apply for a visa on your own (many tourists just after this fact refuse to go on their own)
You can book a hotel on your own - it's no problem (at booking, for example). You can find a guide on your own - if you search in social networks.
If you are ready to bother with a visa on your own and you have the time and patience to do this, please

I would go on my own. Even at the place of the guide, I consider it a waste of time and money.
Schengen, if you are too lazy to collect documents, almost any travel agency will do it for you, but much more expensive. The Hungarian consulate has proliferated... If not in your city, then there must be somewhere nearby.

with TA it is easier and without problems. cheaper bus tour.
airfare will be more expensive
can be individually calculated
it’s cheaper if you know where to get cheap air. You can also book hotels. main visa. in principle, it is not difficult to arrange it, only for Hungarians you need to pay for hotels in advance.
guide can be found.
here you want to bother, or just relax.

I highly recommend you the guide "Budapest" from the publishing house "Orange Guide". We have these and Thomas Cook vaunted. so the Orange guide is much more informative and closer to reality (there is a map, main routes for a day, two, a week) with a description of how to get there, how much the entrance ticket costs, opening hours, recommendations. For an independent tourist - a mega thing! Everything is collected in one booklet, including a mini dictionary.
PS. Not advertising, but personal experience)))
Book a hotel on booking.com.
Prices??? We were in July of this year in Miskolc-Tapolca, Budapest and at Lake Balaton - I didn’t see any difference in prices last fall at all)
If you don’t know proven points with a good exchange rate, then it’s best for an inexperienced tourist to change money at the tourist center, which is in the Varoshliget park. The room is white)) from the back of the Széchenyi baths, the entrance is immediately from the road, how to go from the Heroes' Square to the lake, in front of the bridge (the entrance is on the right from the bridge)))
There are many more tours. take info in Russian for free.

So in Hungary prices have always been higher than ours. I remember this from Soviet times.
