The New Year is just around the corner and faced with the fact that there really are no reviews for this period, then I decided to write my own about my meeting of the last New Year, maybe someone in search of a trip for the holidays.
Last year, we decided everything at the last moment, somewhere around December 15, my wife suddenly decided that she urgently needed to go on vacation. We climbed to look on the Internet, call travel companies, there was nothing left to travel, and we were suddenly offered a trip to Hungary. I made a sour face, as I always treated the former socialist countries not very positively. Climbed on the Internet, came to the company INART VOYAGE. We were offered a new year at the thermal lake Heviz. They said that this is the only lake in Europe with such properties, and also the New Year's program in the wine cellar with unlimited wine, the hotel, of course, is not very good. But we decided to fly.
The flight to the lake went perfectly, we were greeted right from the gangway with bread and salt, according to the Russian tradition, although it looked a little comical there. We were taken to the hotel, a beautiful picturesque place not far from the lake. Well, let's just say a normal four, although I expected a little more. The rooms are clean, the linen is changed every day, the staff is polite and helpful, the breakfast buffet, the food is all of high quality, for Europe I would even say that there is a very large choice. The hotel has its own source that fills the water in the pool and, in principle, you don’t even have to go to the lake itself, although of course, when it’s minus outside and you swim in the lake from which steam comes, it’s an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend to everyone.
Now about the New Year's Eve itself. We were picked up from the hotel at about 10 pm and taken to the venue. Our entire plane from Russia was at the celebration, but there was enough space, everyone got a seat at the table. The wine really flowed like a river. Artists, gypsies were invited, a performance was played, then folk dances. In principle, everything was at a fairly decent level, the only thing a little cold, apparently because it was in a real cellar.
Conclusions: I really did not expect such a level from Hungary as a whole and such beauty, hospitality, cordiality from Heviz. The lake is really worth a visit, it is worth taking at least a few medical procedures. The ticket is not expensive and really justifies the money. In Moscow, by and large, you can spend the same amount for only one New Year's Eve. In short, I give this holiday a solid five. And I hope that my review will help someone decide where to go.
