How much pocket money should I take with me on holiday to Croatia?
We are going with my son (1.8), my mother and niece (5) to Rogoznica for 2 weeks, then we move in a rented car to Dubrovnik for 1 week. Question: how much money to take on vacation with you for the company? We will live in apartments, cook, respectively, in "our" kitchen. We will buy products in the store or in the market. We are planning a trip to the restaurant 2 times ... On an excursion to Plitvice Lakes and Krk. .. Maybe, to the water park a couple of times and to the aquarium / oceanarium ... That's all ... That is, we will economically relax. I'm scratching my head, how much minimum to have with me, so as not to count a penny ...? PS: I understand that more is better than less, but still ...

Good afternoon!
You can see the prices for products and the restaurant menu on the website http://jadranskomore.ru/2012/09/children-meal-sea/
Put in 100 euros per day for food.
Excursions will be expensive if you travel not on your own, but with a group. The aquarium in Rogoznica is public, so it will be free :) Take a walk to the marina, to the lake. Be sure to go to Primosten - this is a bus, it will be inexpensive.
I would have accumulated an amount of about 2000 euros on the card, and I would have paid the maximum from it. It is clear that you won’t be able to pay for souvenirs and ice cream - you will exchange 200 euros at the airport as soon as you arrive, but you can buy groceries in stores, for tickets to national parks.

Take a bank card, so as not to carry cash, you will withdraw on the spot if necessary. As a guide, indeed, take the amount of 100 euros per day for a family.

Prices in Croatia are similar to ours. The local currency rate is 1 kuna = 9.5 rubles, that is, mentally multiply by 10, you get the price in rubles)). In summer, the prices in stores were approximately: 1 kg of tomatoes 8-10 kunas, bread from mini-bakeries 4-8 kunas, a liter jar of local thick yogurt 10-12 kunas, meat / chicken in the store at a price about the same as ours. Fish on the market: sea bream 50 kn/kg, fresh tuna fillet 150 kn.
Cards are accepted almost everywhere, except for the market and small street cafes. Russian speech is generally understood everywhere, and you can understand Croatian) In Dubrovnik, the price tag in the summer was higher than in Split. If you go to Dubrovnik, then it will be more profitable to fill up with gasoline along the way in Bosnia-Herzegovina, you still have to pass through it and there is a gas station near the highway - they take payment by card. We traveled by car from Zagreb to Split, stopped in Dubrovnik, then 9 days later with a stop at Plitvice Lakes, back. For two adults, they spent 110 thousand rubles on everything. The main part fell on the rental of housing and cars.

Svetlana, thanks for your reply. Is 100 euros ONLY for food?... Will it not be much?... It only turns out 2100 for food... And we planned for everything about everything such a sum))
A public aquarium is how to understand? That is, everyone can visit it completely free of charge?
And which card account to open for payment? 4aro? Is it expensive to pay by card? Maybe it’s easier to withdraw this amount upon arrival and exchange the cash for kunas? Does it make sense at all? And which bank to choose for the most profitable? ... In general, a lot of questions ...))

Julia, how many days were you in Croatia?

Good afternoon, I meant that up to 100 euros for food. If you cook at home, then it will turn out less.
The exchange rate is best at the airport, oddly enough. If you arrive in Split, then to the right of the arrivals area is the office of the Split bank. In the money changer directly opposite the entrance, do not change only, the rate is predatory there. We had a VTB bank ruble card with the possibility of conversion. They didn’t count to a penny, but the financier husband didn’t feel the dirty trick :)

The aquarium in Rogoznica is open - right at the entrance to the bridge to the Old Town. next to the playground. There is a big aquarium in Split, there is one in Vodice. They are paid.
By the way, if you suddenly haven’t booked an apartment in Rogoznica (and not only in Rogoznica :), then contact us. I can help :) apartments with two bedrooms in June will cost 40-45 euros / night in June

We were 10 days. Money was changed from the card at the Sberbank ATM. Their office is in Split.

I wonder if you have already decided on the budget "for everything about everything" and are not going to get out of it, what's the point in asking how much to lay down for food? Considering that you are going to go to a restaurant a couple of times during your family vacation, it makes sense to lay down an average of just 100 euros per day for food.
The card is a good insurance in case the brought cash suddenly was not enough "for everything about everything", you can always withdraw it from an ATM. Moreover, it is not necessary to withdraw euros, you can immediately kunas so as not to bother with the exchange.

Olga, I laid the budget, but I asked about it here only in order to understand whether this is a real amount or not ... This is the first time I'm going to Croatia (and I'm still an amateur traveler ...))))

By the way, Svetlana, we are planning a vacation in Rogoznica for 2 weeks, and then rent a car and go to Dubrovnik for a week... So we need apartments there too :)
