Now there is an actual question, booking a hotel or private apartments in Opatija. The price is significantly different for a family of 3 when choosing an apartment. I looked at a map of Opatija, right in the center there is a shop and various food stalls, there are also many cafes and restaurants on the waterfront. The hotel is a possible food, animation and "there is someone to speak Russian with" :) ... there may be additional services such as laundry ... at the same time, as you rightly noted, the price in the hotel will be higher than the price of apartments ... if it’s not a problem for you to organize meals, then you can safely choose apartments

Opatija is a very small beautiful town, famous for its old villas, where both hotels and private apartments are located. We rested several times in private apartments in Croatia. A distinctive feature of the Croats is cleanliness. Even in the simplest apartments, snow-white bed linen. I really like that the apartments often have their own patio with a barbecue, where you can fry meat on the coals.

I can definitely confirm the decency and cleanliness of the owners of the Croatian apartments. We rested in Croatia in early July, booked apartments in advance. Upon check-in, in honor of our arrival, the hosts even baked chevapchichi (local sausages for grilling) on a roshtel and naturally poured a glass of slivovitz. Before leaving, we treated the hosts so as not to be in debt. It is very convenient to have a kitchen in the apartment, you can cook whatever you want, especially for families with children.
