Interesting design - building of the beginning of the 20th century, strict classics, large reception, marble floor.
I would like to note the service, high-quality cleaning and quick response to requests. It seems that they just changed the bed, and on the same day we accidentally got dirty. We called the reception - they immediately sent a cleaner, without indignation, with a smile on her face, she changed the linen.
An important issue upon arrival in Greece was communication, so that they could contact friends at any time. The hotel guide advised which operator to choose, where and how to buy a card, etc. They took a space card. Although during Antichka they mainly used viber, wi-fi worked on the bus, except of course when we were high in the mountains, and it worked almost everywhere in hotels, it also worked without interruptions in Porto Palace. So who worries about communication is not a problem. By the way, Wi-Fi also worked in almost all taverns, coffee houses, etc.
The rooms have everything you need - air conditioning (also works for heat), hairdryer, mini-bar, bath accessories. Parquet floors, a lot in design, comfortable mattress, light-colored room, carpets. The only downside to the room is the lack of a balcony. In winter, we don’t need it, it’s already quite cool outside, you can’t soak up a glass of wine in the evening on the balcony, but in the summer it would come in handy.
In general, you can find good hotels with the best location, in the center or on the waterfront, but Porto Palace suited us perfectly. It takes 20-25 minutes to walk to the center, 10 minutes by bus, you can call a taxi at the reception, then it takes about 5 minutes to go.
Almost forgot to mention breakfast! We had BB food. The breakfasts are delicious and varied!
The contingent in the hotel is very decent, a lot of business people, although there are also enough families and tourists, which provided us with a pleasant calm atmosphere in the evenings.
Bottom line: I recommend this hotel for a stopover in Thessaloniki!
