Last spring I was on the tour "Antique Greece" and stayed in Thessaloniki at the Grand Hotel Palace. Also a decent hotel, I can not say anything bad. So, walking along Paralia (Greek embankment) past the White Tower, we reached Makedonia Palace. Then my husband and I decided that next time we would definitely stay in this romantic hotel with a view of the sea, the symbol of the city - the White Tower and the "lights of the big city" reflected in the sea.

Then my husband and I decided that next time we would definitely stay in this romantic hotel with a view of the sea, the symbol of the city - the White Tower and the "lights of the big city" reflected in the sea. Nearby is a monument to Alexander the Great on his faithful friend horse Bucephalus, a monument of modern art "umbrellas", the Byzantine and archaeological museums.
This winter we decided to celebrate the New Year in Greece and of course, without hesitation, we stopped at Macedonia Palace. Booked junior suite sea view. The room met our expectations. Quite spacious, modern design, all appliances worked, furniture and textiles are good, in general it is clear that the hotel is new. By the way, I'll give you some advice on the numbers: there are non-smoking rooms; on the first floor rooms without balconies; the sea view rooms are quieter because there is a road near the hotel, although all the rooms have good soundproofing, we didn't hear other tourists complaining about the noise.
The food is chic: we took breakfasts and dinners, dined in taverns in the city, their choice in the area is huge. So, the hotel has a varied diet, I really liked the pastries, my husband really liked how the meat was cooked, every evening there are several dishes to choose from, side dishes, fruits, vegetables, desserts are also amazing, like in the best pastry shops : )
Went to relax in the sauna at the hotel, had a good time.
I would also like to note the well-coordinated work of the tour operator. Meeting and seeing off at the airport, transfer, quick accommodation at the hotel, advice from the hotel guide - many thanks to Mouzenidis for a perfectly organized vacation! And of course special thanks to the hotel staff for taking care of us!

The ASTRA airline is very worthy - it took only 2 hours to fly, but the food was delicious, they gave it decent wine, the professionalism of the pilots is respected. Makedonia Palace Hotel is located in the very center of the city, so if you want to get around all the sights on foot, take a walk along the embankment near the White Tower, and also do decent shopping, you won’t find a better hotel! The kitchen of the hotel is GREAT!! ! The food will satisfy even the most capricious gourmets - smoked eel ate, Volkonsky-style desserts, all kinds of green salads, meats, sauces, fresh juices, etc.

The food is completely natural. The room was cleaned immaculately, the bed was changed every day. Upon checking in, I smelled a slight smell of smoking in the room, they immediately offered a non-smoking room (there are half of them in the hotel). The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I was very touched by how the maid neatly laid out things and cosmetics thrown at random... The hotel has a wonderful sauna. I was a little unlucky with the weather, so I refused to take long-distance excursions. In Greece, not the first time I saw a lot, a lot. I love this country for cordiality and hospitality. Finally, I want to tell you a funny incident from this trip, which, in my opinion, characterizes the hospitality of the Greeks. After a long shopping trip, tired, I finally wandered into the Hondos Center (on Aristotle Street). In a cafe on the 5th floor I ordered an Americano coffee. The seller started making it, and then I noticed that all Greeks take their coffee not from a coffee machine, but brewed in a gas wand. I suddenly wanted Greek coffee so much, well, I just don’t have urine! I ask the girl to make me this coffee too (I think I’ll pay for two, in extreme cases I won’t drink americano, so that I don’t have enough kondraha from a double portion)... She threw up her hands, poured the ready americano into the washbasin, prepared Greek coffee, served water to it and a plate with two croissants and cookies. Knocked out a check only for coffee in Greek - 2 euros. Everything else was a treat. And all this with a smile and good luck in Greece! By the way, I want to note that this is not an exceptional case, but rather a rule for the Greeks. I don't know a more hospitable and helpful nation. So this is how Greece and the Greeks are...

"Kalimera" to all! )))) We spent a great week in Greece. We booked a tour "Eureka" at a good price, just what We wanted: to see Greece, but not be tied to a group and live in the same hotel... Thessaloniki themselves did not expect to be liked so much. Moreover, on the first day we had a free tour of this wonderful city from the company! We spent every evening in different taverns, there are a lot of them in Greece and reasonable prices. The vkusnotishcha is unusual, and the portions are so big)))) You can safely order one for two.
The weather turned out to be great - sunny and warm. . . So We walked tirelessly, and of course visited some very cool excursions. We advise you to definitely visit Meteora, the place is breathtaking!!!
So it was not in vain that we went to Greece during this period. The country is very colorful, full of excursions. In general, they were satisfied! )

I want to share my impressions after a trip to Greece. I always perceived this country exclusively for a beach summer holiday, but this time the week-long vacation fell in mid-October, and the agency offered, on a special offer, to fly to Thessaloniki for a week on a sightseeing tour. The price was very reasonable, so we decided to take a chance. We took a tour of Eureka (Ancient Greece), which included accommodation in Thessaloniki and a flight from Kyiv, and excursions were already determined on the spot. On the website of the tour operator, we read in advance about those places where you can go. As a result, we planned our vacation in advance. We went on a two-day trip to Athens-Meteora, to Kastoria and to Olympus. The excursion to Olympus also included a stop at the museum, where the tomb of Alexander the Great's father is located. Here already my husband was delighted! He is a history lover, so the trip impressed him very much. I was delighted with the trip to the monasteries in Meteora and Athens. Beauty and more! And, of course, we were lucky with the weather. I concluded that October is the best for excursions! Sunny, but not hot and not tiring to ride. The fur coat was a planned purchase, so one day was allocated for this. What can I say - the city of Kastoria is beautiful, the choice of furs is extensive. But I initially determined both the budget and the model for myself, so I immediately expressed my wishes to the accompanying Anna, well, she already recommended specific factories. On the second, I found what I wanted. The rest of the time I still had to ride with a group (there were 9 people in the sprint). But that's okay. I take these things lightly. Our hotel was almost in the center of Thessaloniki - Macedonia Palace. I liked everything, there are no special complaints. Back on the plane, I heard that other tourists were settled away from the center and from the sea. Therefore, I was glad that the manager of the agency strongly recommended this particular hotel, and I obeyed her. Well, I will also say that everywhere we were met, escorted - accompanied by tour operator guides. In principle, everything was fine. The only thing is that we were taken to the airport early enough. Well, you can close your eyes to this, after all, a group transfer. Maybe, of course, I am a harmless tourist, but I can say that the whole trip went perfectly, and we did not find fault with the little things. So have a great holiday everyone!
