I feel sorry for one point for the hotel, I put only for its location!
We were in June 2014, a very large group of 22 days!!! Problems arose immediately and for many.
We ordered and paid for a SUITE SEA VIEW room for 2 adults and 2 children (2 and 12 years old) back in February. Settled for a day in 2 standards, but the next day we were harshly evicted (with the threat of deportation to another hotel !!! ) in the only room, as we were told, of the category we paid for !!!! , large, but with decaying furniture and a bathroom, with a balcony above the main entrance, with a view of the round-the-clock busses (vibration, roar and stink), the howl of refrigeration units (a room above the dining room), and other not sober animation (animators' numbers are also under the number) !! ! We were offered the sea watch, arched on tiptoe, across the balcony. Attaching photo.
10!!! ! days of "rest" in such conditions = 10 days of lost nerve cells in the fight against the leadership, in writing official letters, etc. , as a result, we were moved to a room in the 5th building (excellent location, 1st line).
The rooms are old, dirty, the furniture is bad, the cribs are shabby, WITHOUT mattresses! When I asked why, instead of a mattress on rare slats, there were 2 blankets, they told me: "mattresses have run out!!!!!!! " Problems with hot water in the evenings.
The reception deserves some words of "gratitude" (with the exception of the Russian girl Anna, thank you very much for her efforts! )
Managers are vicious, rude women, yelling at children and their parents playing at the glass table in the lobby, "friendly" threatening the police!!!!
I must say, the scenes at the reception with indignant vacationers fighting for a paid vacation, throughout our stay, became an integral part of it!! ! In general, they have a real total problem with the settlement (more precisely, with the non-settlement) (we were reassured like this: you are still lucky, tonight, people sat in the lobby, and in the morning they were loaded onto a bus and taken to another hotel! )))
The organization of the dining room (this is not a restaurant! ) Is disgusting:
children's chairs for the entire dining room 3 or 4 pcs. !! ! - if you're lucky;
crazy crowds of chaotically pushing people;
knocking people down, gloomy staff flying without looking, with wheelbarrows of not very tasty monotonous food (I saw people who fell during collisions more than once, saved my child many times! );
the only entrance-exit to the dining room forms queues, the rest of the exits are blocked: no matter what food is taken out! With this - strictly (attention!!!! : AT THE ENTRANCE A SPECIAL Aunt, WITH A STRETCHED SMILE, REMOVES FROM THE HANDS OF CHEWING CHILDREN-KIDS (1-2 years old) A TITLED OR UNFOLDED APPLE (this happened more than once, and not only with my child) ! ! !!!!!!!!!!!
On the beach, in the 1st half of the month, there was a catastrophic lack of sunbeds and umbrellas; Towels are a foul-smelling RAG, for which they ask for a deposit of 10 euros, and in order to change, you have to run and beat yourself, and then look and not understand: which is cleaner, this, or what is handed over....
The playground is very scarce, poor and dangerous; the pool is dirty, the slides are rather weak.
Animation for Russian children -0, for that, nightly primitive and vulgar games in all languages rattle every day on a good half of the hotel until 23.30.
WIFI is intermittent, only in the lobby, and even that one is terribly slow!
To Lindos 7-10 minutes by taxi (10-12 euros), there is nowhere else to go in the district.
If this hotel remains the last and only one in Greece, then I will go to another country, although I love Greece for a long time ! !
The bus from the airport reached the hotel at about 17:00 (Lindos was the second, the rest of the tourists on the bus were traveling south). They settled very quickly - in the main building, room 1604 Superior Suite Sea Viev, and really with a sea view from the high 6th floor, since the rooms on the other side of the corridor overlook the tennis court. On the balcony there is a table and two chairs. The room was cleaned daily: the floor was washed and towels were changed, bed linen was changed every other day.
The food is excellent, a wide choice of meat dishes, a lot of fruits (watermelons, melons, peaches), Greek yogurts...
A la carte dinner is available once per stay. Choice of Greek (Tue, Wed, Thu) and Italian (Fri, Sat, Sun). I recommend Greek, as Italian food in the form of pizza and pasta can be eaten at a regular dinner in a restaurant.
Bars operate by the pools (under the tower and upstairs in Lindos Village).
Day snack bar only in the Village - there you can have a bite to eat with gyros (Greek shawarma in pita), meatballs, nuggets, fish fingers. It is very convenient if you are late for lunch (from 12:30 to 14:30) from an excursion. In the evening, a bar in the central building at the reception.
Every day at the bar new cocktails of the day (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
Pebble beach with sun loungers and umbrellas a couple of hundred meters from the hotel. Down the stairs from the pools there is a small beach near the rocks.
Animation - in the pools during the day water polo, aqua aerobics, various competitions. There is a mini-club for children, where children from 4 years old are accepted - theoretically, you can leave the child for half a day: the animators go with them to the pools and for lunch. Our child is 2.5 years old, so we went to the mini-club under the supervision of one of the parents.
In the evening, a children's disco in the amphitheater from 20:30 and around 22 hours already shows and competitions for adults.
The main language for animation is French, followed by Italian and Russian.
Excursions - despite those offered by travel agencies at the hotel, it is better to travel on your own: the island is small, and the legends of Ancient Greece from the guide are not very informative.
1) the easiest way is to go to Lindos yourself (5 km from the hotel, taxi 8 euros, bus 1.60 - runs on schedule once an hour. ) In Lindos, a free bus runs from the bus station down to the main square (even though it says 0.50 Euros on the glass). A donkey ride to the Acropolis costs 5 euros one way. Try to visit some tavern on the top of the domia in the old city - a great view of the Acropolis opens up. At night, the rock and the old city are illuminated.
2) the city of Rhodes - the bus costs 4.5 Euro one way. In Rhodes, the old town in the fortress, the port of Mandraki and the embankment leading to the confluence of the two seas of the Aegean and the Mediterranean are recommended for visiting.
3) by car around the island - class A car rental (Fiat Panda, Skoda Fabia, Nissan Micra) for 40 euros per day (65 euros for 2 days, 80 euros for 3 days) naturally not at the hotel. Look for a 2-story building with a Car Rental sign.
In addition to all of the above, the territory of the hotel with swimming pools and bridges is especially impressive. Returning back to the airport, the bus called in several hotels along the coast, nothing like the Lindos Royal / Village was seen anywhere else.
Ask, if anything, questions!
We rested from 29.05. 13 to 07.06. 13 big company. They brought us to the hotel around 16-17 hours, filled out the cards and settled us within 10-15 minutes, half in Lindos Royal and the other half in Lindos Village, this is the only significant jamb of the hotel, so everyone had vouchers to Royal.
Fortunately, the buildings were nearby, and besides, the guys with rooms in the Village had a much more impressive view of the sea, as the white houses of the Village rise higher up the mountain. Let's say in general we were lucky with the rooms, the view is normal, everything worked ...well, what else do you need. As for the room (2106) where we lived, there are no comments, just one positive. Near the reception, restaurant, slides, shop, finally the main bar), the room is fresh, repairs will not be needed yet 3.2-room, balcony, plumbing IDEAL STANDARD sanitary ware, shower. bath, faucets. They cleaned the room every other day, sent a tip a couple of times (2 euros), in general 5 with +
In terms of nutrition, I will only note a poor assortment of fruits, probably not the season, in the first two days there were only oranges and chopped apples, a little later pineapples, melons and watermelons appeared. Otherwise everything is fine, a decent selection of meats, side dishes, vegetables, etc.
Drinks are served by the waiters, raise your hand if they don’t come up themselves, as an option, you can take a walk yourself, this is not prohibited. I will especially note the dinner in a la carte, it is very tasty and there is a lot of seafood and meat.
The hotel area is common with Lindos Village, this hotel is located up the slope, the body is white, so it is quite decent in size, although the main one is concentrated in the bar by the pool, this is where the turret is. There is all daytime animation, constantly music. We mostly stayed in the pools near the slides, when we were only half of the slides were open, but in the high season the second ones will open. By the way, slides are so-so, for children.
The staff left positive emotions, and Russian-speaking girls at the reviews and local girls in the bars.
I will only note the dominance of French at animation evenings as a minus, but a lot of people have already written about this before me, there are actually Russian-speaking animators, but they go by the wayside and translate very briefly. The animation, it seemed to me, was useless, the only worthwhile thing is the Greek evening, local bands are invited, it's worth a look.
On excursions, they will offer a fairly complete package in order to see the island and its neighboring small islands. Of the proposed, we took only Mount Filerimos and the city of Rhodes, we took a taxi to Lindos (8-10 euros), you can call from the reception, they bring you directly to the place of ascent to the acropolis, the entrance costs 6 euros. On the west coast (Monolithos castle, pochelyuy two seas) rented a car for 40 euros per day Nissan Micra, plus 20 euros for gasoline, the hotel will offer you the same thing for 65-70 euros, gasoline, respectively, separately.
It’s not difficult to find a rental, exit the main entrance to the left, down past the hotel, go beyond it, the hotel’s beach will be on the left, you go straight to the intersection with the road, and so there is always a car with an advertisement for this rental office at the intersection, look for it in white two-story knowledge, you go there, an athletic young Greek sits there, he is waiting for you) Just book cars in advance, at least a day in advance. Also be sure to visit the Water Park in Faliraki, it is open from 9 to 19, the entrance is 22 euros for an adult, from 7 years old 15 euros, the sensations are not transferable, I recommend. We got there by taxi 35-40 euros one way, it’s cheaper on our own, in principle it’s not difficult to get there, the bus also runs 3.5 euros, but it’s much longer and not everyone goes through Faliraki, you can hang at the bus stop for 1.5 hours.
Everything has already been written about the sea, it is really beautiful, clean, on the beach near the rocks you can see fish, but there are few.
Who misses the sandy beach, you can go to Lindos, there is sand or Kalathos, it's to the north, also not far from the hotel.
Questions will try to answer, and so Russians, Ukrainians in the hotel get to know a lot, communicate, ask and relax, do not strain).
