In love with Greece!
This is the third time we have come to Platamonas. This time we chose the Royal Palace Hotel, a small but chic hotel. Located on a pedestrian street, from one exit you go to the center, from the other directly to the sea. There is also a spa and a pool. Briefly about the hotel, the hotel is very good, its price is justified. I want to tell you about the area itself, the village of Platamon. A small Greek village, with one main street where all souvenir shops, shops and cafes are located. But there is also a promenade lined with bars, taverns and restaurants. Evening walks will not let you get bored. The village has a port. And it's exciting to watch when you just wake up, and the fishermen are already unloading their catch. This village is not only touristic, there is also a local population that lives here all year round, which fully allows you to plunge into the life of the Greeks. The landscapes are gorgeous, the majestic Mount Olympus on which the castle of Platamon is located, the sea, you will really like all this. Within walking distance there is the next village called Nea Pori, which is not like other Greek villages, there are wide streets, houses are not so close to each other, a wide sandy coastline. In Platamon, the beaches are stone and pebble, in Nea Pori, sandy, you can safely change the beaches according to your mood. Moreover, on the weekends the beaches are not overcrowded, because local Greeks come and it is really very difficult to find a place, in this case we went to Nea Pori. Be sure to go to local taverns, fish taverns. you will not try such seafood dishes anywhere, not one hotel will offer this. Also, which is convenient, near the train station, you can easily get to Thessaloniki. And the city itself is not difficult to navigate. It is not worth renting a car for long trips, but in order to inspect the area, climb Mount Olympus itself, it is very convenient. We took a car for one year, decided to go to Aridea, and only got lost, spent money on gasoline and on toll roads, we didn’t get any pleasure. But we have been in this area for the third year already, and we have our own acquaintances, so last year we met a girl who took us to Kastoria, this year we went with her to Meteora, conveniently, individually. The price comes out like that of an agency, just not by bus, but by car. I'll have to give you her number. Yes, there are fur shops in Platamon, but do not rush to take them there, the purchase is serious, and the quality of products in these stores does not inspire confidence, although the prices are attractive.
If you wake up to take a car, then be sure to go to Old Panteleimon, this is a village on Mount Olympus, stunning views open up, good taverns.
We are just in love with Greece and we like everything about it, we hope you will love it too! )
