The hotel was chosen based on: a small hotel on the east coast, green area, private beach, remoteness from the city and silence. In Greece we always rested in 4 and 5 * hotels, but on our dates there were no places in such hotels according to our requirements. We stopped at the Corfu Senset Resort, not believing the negative reviews (we ourselves never look for minuses in hotels, we are tourists with 20 years of experience and are not scandalous). But everything is in order.
Our flight number 409 (Greek airlines) was delayed for... 22 hours! Thus, the first day of rest was lost. We arrived at the hotel in the morning of the second day of the intended rest. The room was booked with a "mountain view". And it was the hotel's slyness: there is a view of the mountains, and it is beautiful, but . . The main highway of the island passes in front of the hotel, and even with a slope uphill, and therefore the room rate included round-the-clock noise from cars and motorcycles + brutal noise from the hotel's generator, also located on the "mountain view" side. So sleep either with a closed balcony and air conditioning + "ear plugs", or without sleep . . And there are enough such rooms in the hotel. Further. The room turned out to be with one bed 160 cm (this is for two! ), On which there is one narrow sheet instead of a bedspread, with one bench (there are no chairs), one glass, one set of toiletries (gel, soap, cream, cap, mini cotton swab and three sticks - more such a set was not added during our stay at the hotel). We decided that the room was clearly for 1 person (by the way, there is information about such rooms on the hotel website). On the third day, we hardly managed to get the bed replaced (they refused to replace the room because of the terrible noise, even with a surcharge, motivating it with a full occupancy of the hotel. ) So if you choose this hotel, just not the rooms with mountain view!!!! ! As for cleaning the room, changing linen and towels, there are no complaints. Yes, the hotel is not new, but minor errors can be easily corrected in time, which, apparently, is not provided for (see photo). For example, we called the plumber on the very first day, since the smell from the toilet was unbearable (room 107).
Food: of course, you won’t stay hungry, but you won’t get much pleasure either (this is our opinion). Breakfast is a standard set: egg, cheese, sausage, ham, yogurt (it’s all one kind), cereal, milk, canned fruits, sausages , fried eggs, fried zucchini, porridge, vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, greens), olives, for a sweet cake and croissant, chocolate paste, honey, jam, coffee / tea (one variety), two types of juice. Fruits have never been! Dinners without fuss: rice or pasta, potatoes, zucchini or eggplant, sauces, meat, fish (very tasteless), lettuce, tomato-cucumbers, sometimes pizza. For dessert, jelly and something like thick milk jelly, topped with whipped cream. Watermelon for dinner was daily. To the question "where are the seasonal fruits? " was the answer "this is not a 4 * and not 5 * hotel for you! A big surprise for us was a gift from the hotel in the restaurant on the occasion of our wedding anniversary (we mentioned this when checking in to the guide). Thank you.
We dined in taverns near the hotel. When leaving the hotel, you need to go to the left. Walk along the side of the road (there is no sidewalk), but better along the seashore. There will be three taverns. They weren't in the first one. In the second and third (further behind the bridge) you can taste fish, seafood, meat dishes, a few salads. The portions are large, you can take one dish for two. The prices are reasonable: the bill for two is 20-25 euros. The taverns are located on the seafront and you have a wonderful view of the sea.
The territory of the hotel. This is the very plus that we bought into. Clean, green, quiet, beautiful, good pool, enough sunbeds that can be moved to a convenient place for you throughout the hotel and to the beach. The entry into the sea is gentle, but small pebbles (preferably in special shoes). The sea is clean. But again, behind this narrow strip of beach, the care of the hotel staff is minimal: just look at the photo (they took photos so that this would not happen by the next season).
There are a lot of bees in the area! They bit us twice, it's good that without any special consequences. Probably, there are some measures so that these honey plants do not spoil the rest.
The hotel has a garden with orange trees, but it is neglected (see photo). And we thought, according to the description on the site, that there you can enjoy the shade of fruit trees and the smells of ripening oranges! We are naive pensioners! We believed what the hotel administration writes in their brochures!
Entertainment. If you need them, then you are not here! And if you have children over 6 years old, don't come here either. they will be very bored.
Internet. Only in the hotel lobby and on the veranda by the bar. Weak. With interruptions.
Summary: if you choose a vacation on Corfu, look for 4 * and 5 * hotels, the sea is calmer in the east of the island, the location of the hotel on the 1st line does not guarantee the absence of a road behind or in front of the hotel, so carefully study the location of the hotel. And the last. Do not think that such a review is due to our harmfulness or scandalousness (see my other reviews on hotels in different countries: there is no negativity there). We came to Corfu for the first time and were very pleased. A beautiful green island, clear sea, stunning landscapes, masterpieces of architecture and much more. We chose the Corfu Senses hotel for relaxation. First impressions were average. The hotel seemed to be very old. But our opinion has changed. First, the room had everything you need.

Went on a city tour. Good program. An untiring tour and a maximum of useful information. Were in the temple of St. Spyridon. They were impressed.
We concluded that you need to come to this island for at least 10 days in order to have time to sunbathe and visit the most beautiful places. We will definitely return.

There are many taverns and pubs within walking distance where you can taste national dishes. We can say we got hooked on moussaka and octopuses.

For 4 days we rented 2 cars through our hotel guide, and traveled the entire island along and across! The views are wonderful, I have never seen so many temples and churches in such a small area. Ask your guide right away where the road is bad and where it is better to walk. In fact, we regretted a little that we didn’t go on a sightseeing tour of the city of Corfu, after all, the guide would have told us more interesting information than we found on the Internet. In general, the rest went off with a bang, the weather pleased with the warm sun. We are very satisfied with the hotel, the company and the island as a whole!
