Last year we were also in Rhodes at the 3* Romanza mare hotel. Thought it would be the same. But this was not expected. We are already 3 times in Greece. We chose this 3 * hotel exclusively as the cheapest with half board 1800 euros for 12 nights for a family. Last year we were also in Rhodes at the 3* Romanza mare hotel. Thought it would be the same. But this was not expected.
The hotel is located on the road, so no matter where you place the room, because of the noise of motorbikes, etc. you are unlikely to sleep well, especially during the day. Go to the sea in order, about 10 minutes, past the picturesque trash cans. In general, in Corfu, garbage is somehow treated indifferently. You come to some insanely beautiful beach, enjoy 30 shades of the sea, turn your head - and there... Well, like in the Crimea.
The room is generally a fairy tale, very small, but something else is important. The air conditioner is located exactly above the upper double bed, about 20 cm higher, where children usually sleep, i. e. even if you suddenly want to turn it on, then... It is better not to open built-in wardrobes, they hide some communications and stink terribly. so it's better to leave things on the floor in a suitcase. The doors are old and painted as funny as we paint in budgetary institutions - just think around a little smeared and it will do. But most of all I was stunned when I was asked for a safe in the room (old) 3 euros per day. And for a refrigerator of the same year, but also rusty, also 3 euros per day. You won’t find such junk even in our dachas anymore. And yet, hot water behaves very strangely. It is during the day when you come from the beach and want to take a shower - only cold.
Food. Breakfast is standard. The same thing every day: 2-3 types of semi-sedobny sausage, 1 type of cheese, feta, cucumbers and tomatoes, cereal, Greek yogurt (this is the only thing that is really tasty) and eggs. Moreover, you can only eat boiled and fried ones, an omelet is something rubbery, and I still haven’t figured out the chef’s secret. Coffee from the machine carried - not great, but you can drink. Later on the beach you can catch up with Greek coffee for 1.5 euros, very tasty. For dinner, usually one type of meat, 1 time there were fried squid rings, 3 types of side dishes, soup, salads such as abyshto. Watermelons are also cut, sometimes melon or apples. But there are a lot of supermarkets here, we bought whatever fruits we wanted and ate. The ice cream was excellent the first week, but then... Half board drinks are not included in the price, we tried to take juice for children for money, it turned out to be a yuppie. No more risk. and yet, dry rations are not given here if you suddenly leave somewhere. Of course, you will not stay hungry, you can choose something, but not a class.
Internet is bad and not always available. I went to the bar opposite, there was good Wi-Fi.
Beach. In Moratica and Messonghi I liked it, not wide, but the sand mixed with pebbles, the entrance is gentle, I didn’t swim to the depth, it’s far. You can say this is the only plus of this hotel.
Bus. Because the hotel is in the center. road, then a stop nearby to go to Kerkyra, go somewhere 30-40 minutes, costs 2.20 for both adults and children.
The impression left from the hotel is this: if you have not seen anything except Crimea, live in a socket without repair and eat dumplings every other day, then you will probably like it. But something tells me that such a contingent does not go to Corfu.
