FOOD: it is almost impossible to eat dinner, they were very mistaken that they ordered breakfast and dinner. they cook EXTREMELY BAD and super monotonously (well, for example, a Greek salad is served with one olive, but with a carrot, WITHOUT cheese even - and stuff like that), orders from the menu have been collected by an uncle for 65 years, but in winter he probably works at a gas station as a janitor. pompous, and not very pleasant at all. The staff is overwhelmed.
ROOMS are very basic, please note that you are not given a room above the kitchen - the smells are not great..... ) but the SEA VIEW COMPENSATES EVERYTHING!!! ! take rooms with a view of the large bay; ))) just a fairy tale!
BEACH: Pebble. As for sunbeds and umbrellas: free only by the pool, on a common beach (this is not a hotel beach - this is a common beach), 9 euros per day for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, not 4 as they say everywhere! you can rent boats for the whole day.
depends on the engine power from 60 euros per day to 80 euros per day (this is when the boat is with a steering wheel, not "motor" control) + gasoline 1.5 euros per liter. they don’t count less than 8-10 liters, they usually cheat by 2-4 liters ...but on a boat you can travel around everything, to all blue grottoes, wild beaches, caves, you can DIVE WITH A MASK AND STUBE. SNORKELING EXCELLENT!!! ! The best in Corfu!!! ! a lot of fish, starfish, but also enough sea urchins! spearfishing is quite possible. there it is simple. because you can almost get the fish with your hand), because the water is even very cool. then for hunting it is better to take a hydro suit or just a hydro T-shirt and shorts. The stones along the coast are very sharp, you can climb the rocks only in shoes, it's much better. than without ; ))) PALEOKASTRITSA is the best place in Corfu in terms of beauty (we have been to many places)!!!!!!! ! Very beautiful! It's true!
SURROUNDINGS: There are many restaurants in the vicinity - you can’t call them taverns - there is almost no local flavor there, and restaurants too : )))) somewhere better, somewhere worse, we really liked the way they cook in ADAMA, very pleasant and interested in good service people : )))) Everything is delicious, everything is of high quality! sea food salat (5 euros) and sea pasta (7 euros) are super and the portions are quite large, salads can be taken for two! lamp chops ( 7-8 euros ) are about the same everywhere, 3-4 small ribs + garnish
(French fries, rice, greens)! octopuses are cooked in few places, there are no oysters at all. For two, we gave about 30-35 euros including wine, by the way, in other places in Corfu, prices are about 15-20% higher and they cook, as it turned out, much worse! Glyfada did not particularly excel ...by the way, it’s quite sad somehow ....
You can walk around the surroundings of Paleokastritsa yourself, there is a Monastery (although there are always tourists there, that is, entire buses of tourists). but there are also very secluded holy places.
You can move around the island on your own. For example, taking a car, car rent - this is very common! somewhere around 80-90 euros for 3-4 days (for a modest car). you can travel on a green bus, from Akrotiri to Kerkyra it costs 2 euros one way per person, the schedule hangs at the bus stop. The last bus from the city of Kerkyra leaves at 18-00. If you are late, then you can then take a taxi, it costs 25-30 euros to Paleokastritsa (22 km).
The contingent of the hotel - Russian, 30 percent, all calm. Age from 40 to 60. The British and Italians are the rest. There is almost no entertainment in the hotel, except for themed evenings with sirtaki, oriental dances, etc. No animation. But the cleanest sea and excellent views of the mountains, as well as walks in the mountains, compensate for everything.
