First, the bathrooms. Instead of a traditional normal shower cabin - a curb and a curtain. It is not convenient to wash, there is not enough space, the curtain constantly sticks to the body (I thought differently in other rooms, but all vacationers talked about it and complained to the reception).
Secondly, food. Tasty, fresh, many salads to choose from - but! This applies to everything except seafood. In a week (! ! ), seafood was served only twice - with a choice of rice or spaghetti. To say the least, this is strange for Greece (in nearby hotels, vacationers said that they have seafood every day, in particular, tiger shrimp, squid, mussels - not in spaghetti, but in separate positions. Despite the fact that the prices for tickets were lower in them). Also, it is surprising considering the prices for the hotel. I paid $1200 for ol in 6 days, and to be honest, I'm disappointed with the money spent.
Thirdly, the cleanliness of the beaches.
Well, the fact that sunbeds are paid is the situation in most hotels. Although €15 for a sunbed seems too much if you are lying on a beach that is not cleaned. Yesterday morning the children scattered plastic cups and straws, tonight they are lying in the same place. Cigarettes are a separate story. If you already allow smoking on the beach, you should worry about cleaning or special areas. I believe that this should be monitored better, and not just take a lot of money for a sunbed. There are also no booths for changing clothes - it's very inconvenient.
The new room was double, overlooking the sea and the pool, much more comfortable. The rooms have awesome mattresses, about 25-30 cm high. There is no kettle in the room, but if you ask at the reception, they will bring it. There is a refrigerator and TV. As for the channels, there are only 6 or 7 of them. One is Russian-speaking, this is Russia 24, it’s impossible to watch, complete nonsense, unfortunately there are no Ukrainian channels. The food is exceptional, there is a lot of everything and everything is very tasty. Beach: 2 sunbeds with mattresses, 2 towels and 2 waters 30 euros per day, a cabin with the same filling 50 euros. Think for yourself, I recommend having a towel with you and lying on it. The beach consists of two parts, on the first sunbeds, about 20 of them are placed there. The second part, measuring 10 by 10 m, is on towels. But by the time we left, sunbeds were being brought in.
The town is small and cozy, there are many souvenir shops, car rentals. There is a supermarket nearby. Immediately about car rental, the price is 50-60 euros per day, gasoline 1.80 per liter. Although literally 2 weeks ago the price was 30-35 euros. The people are very friendly, in the stores no one tries to sell you anything. Nature is amazing, very beautiful. If you do not take a car, you can book excursions from the hotel guide, there are enough of them. I recommend an excursion to the island of Gramvous. Unforgettable impressions. Special thanks to the staff, nice people. There are very few Russian speakers, learn English. By the end of the holiday, I didn't want to leave. If you are prepared in advance for the minor shortcomings described above, you can have a pretty good rest.
• Impeccable Wi-Fi (even watched movies), catches everywhere, a little on the beach.
• High-quality delicious FOOD (blue cheese, nutella for breakfast), few places I've seen this.
• The hotel has a RENT A CAR, through a guide. THE GUIDE CHARGES 10€ extra for the car, but he doesn't say it directly. But full insurance and no control over the car. They gave the keys and go, then put them somewhere near the hotel, and the keys at the reception.
• There are shops, cafes, taverns nearby, it is very interesting to walk, BUT buy souvenirs and gifts, take a car and drive to the village away from the sea, it will be much cheaper. For example, water by the sea 0.50 €, in the village 0.23 €, olives by the sea from 3-4 €, in the village 1.18 €.
Minuses (-)
• ROOMS are either very small (the bathroom is 4-5 square meters, and if the room is larger, you can hear all the drains, you can wake up at night from the fact that someone from above went to the toilet and flushed.
• My friends had a beautiful room, but small with a view of the pool, they wanted to change because of the smells of rot or rotten meat... of course, the rooms were not changed. They change those who are stubborn and fluent in English or other languages except Russian or Ukrainian. (Falling on fools don't understand)
• LOUNGE LOUNGES ON THE BEACH ARE PAID 10€ for two, but you can take a blanket with you (it made things easier for us), especially if you are going to go to a wild beach.
• NO BEACH TOWELS! 5€ deposit and towel replacement 1€ (I advise you to bring your own too)
• Also NO COSMETIC ACCESSORIES, bring shampoos, gels, etc. with you. (there is one soap and that's it)
• THERE IS NO ANIMATION and never will be, it's not Turkey or Egypt, it's Europe, they don't have it (so it's not a minus, but more an appeal to people not to complain)
• In the photo from the hotel there is a restaurant of a neighboring cafe, you can not eat there, you can drink there from 10 to 23:00. Therefore, DO NOT TRUST THE PHOTO FROM THE HOTEL, it is beautiful, cozy, but not like that. (for example, we did not see the rooms in the photo, maybe it was a suite)
• I do not advise traveling with CHILDREN, several times there were cases where they broke arms and legs and hit, there are cliffs and stones, hidden buoys in the water and all sorts of steep climbs.
• THERE ARE NO RESCUERS, there was a case that a couple of madams were blown to the stones by a wave, they miraculously did not break, the mattress was in tatters, and they themselves walked for a week. So BE CAREFUL.
HOTEL. We arrived at the hotel around 5 am. The first impression about the lobby of this hotel was negative: stuffy (due to Covid, everything must be ventilated and air conditioners are not turned on), mosquitoes, drunken yelling and singing companies of guests who had not yet gone to bed at that time. Despite the fact that we were checked in at 2:30 pm, we were fed breakfast and allowed to use the pool. There is a luggage storage room - 2 euros. The hotel is a complex of 2-3-storey buildings, in which there are rooms of different levels. The hotel area is small. There is almost no greenery. Of the 5 pools declared, only one can be called a pool, and even then, it is old, with peeling dirty tiles. Mold on the walls of the pool. The sun loungers around this pool are occupied by guests from the night. The rest of the hotel's pools are more like "puddles" for 5 people. The photo of the pools on Booking is not true.
ROOM. Initially, we were settled in an absolutely terrible room: in the farthest building in the basement without a balcony with a small window under the ceiling. Room footage Standard, paid by us, did not correspond to the declared Standard on Booking. com. The beds were almost right next to each other, everything was old and dirty. In terms of level, this room, in our opinion, was lower than the economy level. We refused to check in and asked the reception for another room. We were offered a much better housing option in the building across the street from the lobby. This room had 2 rooms, everything was cleaner and more modern, new furniture, good comfortable beds. Air conditioning was in one of the rooms. Worked great. There was no balcony in the room, but there was access to the patio where you could dry things. By the way, the courtyard can be easily accessed from the main street. They dried towels and were very afraid that at one point they would disappear. The bathroom was large but the shower itself was a tray and curtain. The room was cleaned regularly. Replacement of towels as well. No complaints.
NUTRITION. We liked the food. The food was varied, the choice of dishes is large. There were always several types of meat, fish, grilled dishes, a large selection of vegetables. We especially liked the Greek cheeses. From fruits they gave melon, watermelon, oranges. Peaches, grapes, plums were not given, although, it seems, it was the season. The staff in the dining room tries hard, the waiters are very kind. In the pool bar, as well as in the bars of the a la carte restaurants Porto Greco and King Scorpio for all-inclusive vacationers, it was possible to order a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks - local production of satisfactory quality. Also in the bar on the lobby gave ice cream and snacks. It is possible to exchange one dinner at the hotel for dinner at one of the above restaurants. We recommend going to the Italian restaurant King Scorpio. There is really a restaurant level and very tasty. Our friends were in the Greek cuisine restaurant Porto Greco, they did not like it.
BEACH. The hotel does not have its own beach. There are many beaches around, all of them are municipal. You can swim, sunbathe on a towel everywhere absolutely freely. You have to pay for sunbeds and an umbrella. The price for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella is 10 euros. But the beach for such a price will be rocky with an inconvenient entry into the sea. We went to the Scorpio beach restaurant next to the hotel. Sunbeds there for 10 euros for 1 piece + umbrella + towel + bottle of water. 2 sun beds respectively will cost 20 euros. There are tents with 2 sunbeds for 50 euros. The beach is small, with a bulky sandy bottom, located in a beautiful bay. The sea is amazing, warm, crystal clear, a lot of small fish. I didn't want to get out of the water. This is perhaps the main advantage of this place. Most of the sunbeds on this beach were booked in advance by the restaurant, so there was always a fear that we would not get a sunbed. In addition, if you are absent from the beach for more than an hour, your paid sunbed may be sold to other people. It is impossible to normally go to dinner and to the room, to wait out the very heat. It was unnerving, but there seems to be no one to complain to. Employees referred to the high season and the large number of sunbathers. Despite the incident with the check-in, we liked the rest, especially when you read reviews of other hotels. A huge advantage of Porto Greco is its location, everything is within walking distance: the beach (20 m from the hotel), the dining room, the lobby with a cafe, the pools. Also, having risen a little higher along the street, you go out onto the main street with many souvenir shops and shops. And if you just walk along the embankment, you will plunge into the atmosphere of music, fun, all kinds of smells from a large number of eateries, cafes and restaurants.
This hotel is absolutely not suitable for families with children and lovers of a quiet holiday. The hotel has a large number of young people from Germany and the Netherlands. These drunken youth yell, sing, laugh, slam doors, swim in the pool at night, which cause a lot of inconvenience to those living next to them. It lasts until the morning. The hotel management does nothing about it. There is no animation in the hotel.
Very convenient location of the hotel.
The hotel is very spacious, with air conditioning, wi-fi works, the only thing is that there were no toiletries (shampoo, soap), but the rooms were cleaned every day!
I would like to note the work of the reception - very friendly and pleasant people who help you solve your problems and questions.
The cuisine is very varied and tasty, the bartenders are also friendly.
The bar is open from 7:30 to 23:00 and it's very convenient.
In general, I liked everything very much and I recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay!
I would like to return there.
Buffet: the food is varied and tasty. Every day - several types of meat, meat rolls, fish, delicious cheeses, salads, vegetables separately, several side dishes, sauces, muesli and dried fruits, a lot of sweets, a lot of fruits, ice cream. I especially liked the delicious sweet watermelons and baklava. There is also a wide range of drinks, you can take them in the restaurant, the Scorpion bar and the snack bar near the reception. But! you should know that "all inclusive" works only until 23:00, later - all drinks are paid. Separately, I want to note simply stunning sea views from the Scorpio bar and restaurant.
We paid for a standard room. Our room was small, but very comfortable. There is a refrigerator, a very comfortable bed and pillows, a table with a mirror, a bedside table, a hair dryer, a TV and air conditioning. Our room was on the third floor and had a sea view from the balcony. The only downside to the room is the very small shower and toilet room. Because we left early in the morning and returned late in the evening, this did not bother us much, but we still would like more space for this all important room... Be sure to take all shower accessories with you (shampoo, lotions, body creams... ), because in the bathroom there is only liquid soap and that's it.
There are several small pools on the territory of the hotel, sunbeds near them are free. The hotel is located on the first coastline and has several sandy beaches, each of which is located in beautiful stone bays. Incendiary music plays on the beach all day and creates a great mood. Sunbeds on the beaches are paid, 10 euros per 1 piece. The beaches are clean, clear turquoise water, beautiful views and amazing photos.
I would like to note the very good location of the hotel, there are shops and souvenir shops nearby, but there is no crowd of tourists....Literally a 10-15 minute leisurely walk is the city embankment, a lighthouse and many restaurants and bars.
In the hotel itself at the reception you can rent a car (3 days - 85 euros), but there are also car rentals on every corner. . .
Wi-Fi covers the entire territory of the hotel.
We just had an unforgettable vacation. I really liked the hotel! Definitely recommend! Rating 9 out of 10 (lowered the ball for the bathroom, everything else was at the highest level).
We arrived late in the evening, upon arrival at the hotel we were fed and settled very quickly. We traveled in 2 couples, asked for rooms next to each other and got them.
Room (Suite): two-room spacious comfortable. For two, it's perfect. This room would be comfortable and 4m.
In the room: 2 rooms, 2 TVs, 2 air conditioners, good shower, toilet, 2 balconies, refrigerator, iron, 2 wardrobes.
Clean linen and towels.
Cleaning every day. Change of towels every other day. The bed was changed every 3 days.
The second couple had the same room, mirrored, balconies nearby, it was convenient to be around all the time : )
Meals: a large selection, a variety of dishes. There are dishes for vegetarians, dietary dishes, meat, fish, salads, various side dishes, many desserts, fresh pastries, ice cream.
Bar: a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, juices, water, beer, wine, cocktails, spirits, coffee, tea.
The restaurant is located near the sea, very nice.
Beach: the closest one near the hotel, 50 meters. Clean, sandy. The beach is free. Paid sunbeds and umbrellas.
There are many beaches along the promenade, all are good, you don’t need to go far or go.
Service: very friendly and helpful staff. They work quickly and efficiently, smiling, positive. Very good impression.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
The island and the city itself are incredibly beautiful. It's like in a fairy tale.
We give this hotel a solid 10, because we really liked it here and we will be happy to come here again.
