I liked the rest so much that I wanted to leave a review and describe the most important points and features in a pandemic.
I really liked the unusual concept of the hotel with room pool sharing rooms, a small pool for several rooms (or for one room) gives a twist and makes it possible to refresh at any time without leaving the room. The room itself is spacious, clean, there is a kettle, cups, a small refrigerator, shower cosmetics and even an antiseptic. Also on the first evening, the hotel welcomes guests with a fruit basket and a bottle of wine. Of the minuses in the room, one can only name a paid safe (15 euros, as for me it would be possible to add them to the room price immediately) and very low pillows, but this problem is easily solved at the reception desk. Most of the guests are French, Germans and Italians, compatriots are rare.
The sea fascinates with its beauty, purity and number of shades.
The nearest beach is right across the road, small in size, rocky, at the bottom there is a smooth small white shell, there are stones in the water, so special shoes will not hurt. Two sunbeds and an umbrella for the whole day cost 9 euros, you can go out for lunch / walk, your sunbeds for the whole day are yours. You can relax without a sunbed, lay a towel in a free place and enjoy the sea, especially if you, like my husband, for example, do not like to lie on the beach for a long time. Particularly enterprising take sunbeds by the pool, and go to the beach from there, especially since the journey takes no more than 1 minute. Right on the beach there is an authentic tavern where you can have a tasty and budget-friendly meal or take drinks right on the beach. To the left of the hotel in 5-7 minutes there is a beach with a more gentle and sandy entrance, 2 sunbeds and an umbrella cost 7 euros there, a little further - a nudist beach.
To the right of the hotel is a beach with a stone slab in the water, there is a slightly more diverse underwater world, divers dive.
The food is quite varied and tasty. Fish, various types of meat (there was even a lamb), seafood (mussels, squids, octopuses, shrimps), Greek cuisine, fruits, sweets and even ice cream. I liked that at the entrance there is a basket with disposable seals, and the staff makes sure that everyone puts them on, because the guests themselves choose and apply food. Drinks at dinner for an additional fee, the prices are reasonable.
I would also like to note the work of the administrator in the restaurant in the evening, a stately elderly man regulates the number of people, meets you at the entrance, finds out your preference for the place of dinner (outdoor terrace or indoor hall) and escorts you to a table (or asks you to wait until a seat is free), wishes you a pleasant evenings, and you immediately feel the atmosphere of a good respectable restaurant, and not a noisy canteen, as is often the case in large hotels.
During the pandemic, there will be no evening entertainment (live music) at the hotel. So in the evening you can either sit in a cafe on the open terrace and enjoy the sound of the sea with a glass of Aperol, or take a 15-minute walk to Hersonissos, where there are many bars, restaurants and discos (during our stay from 1 am to 6 am there was a curfew, at this time needed to stay at the hotel).
The only disadvantage of the hotel is that the road to it is so tiny that not all buses can drive up, and sometimes (for example, to the sightseeing bus to Santorini) you need to walk 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop.
But in fact, Crete begins where the territory of the hotel ends, and no matter how cozy and good it is in the hotel itself, we definitely recommend renting a car (and the nearest car rental is literally 50 meters to the right of the hotel, the procedure takes 10 minutes) and go to see the island, such a trip will definitely give you a lot of impressions. Given the location of the hotel, in two days we managed to visit both the east coast (Spinalonga, Agios Nikolaos and Vai beach) and the west coast (Chania, Stefanou beach, Rethymno).

The check-in was even ahead of time, the room was cleaned daily, there were no complaints at all. The hotel was good enough, but I didn’t like breakfasts, they were bad (not tasty sausages, scrambled eggs, which had such a smell that it was impossible to eat), we basically just drank juice for breakfast, but the dinners were big enough, tasty and varied.

The beach is 5 meters from the hotel, the water is clean, almost transparent. The territory of the hotel is large, there are 2 large pools, the hotel, in principle, we liked. There were no nightclubs near the hotel, the distance was about 5 km to them, the nearest supermarket was 2 km, there were local shops nearby, food was sold there, they looked like huts, there were also cafes, like taverns on the seashore, there are quite a lot of them . The guide at the hotel offered excursions, but we refused them.

This summer my husband and I rested at the Hersonissos Maris hotel. The hotel has a very convenient location. It is located 15 minutes walk from Hersonissos. We are in this hotel for the second time. In the hotel itself, the infrastructure and interior are at a good level. There are indoor and outdoor pools. Gym, tennis court, sauna, massage, billiards, table tennis, fitness center, Turkish bath, hot tub, jacuzzi - can be used for an additional fee.

In the hotel itself, the infrastructure and interior are at a good level. There are indoor and outdoor pools. Gym, tennis court, sauna, massage, billiards, table tennis, fitness center, Turkish bath, hot tub, jacuzzi - can be used for an additional fee. There is equipment for water sports. We stayed in a room with a sea view. The room is equipped with air conditioning, refrigerator, TV with satellite channels. Some rooms have access to a shared pool. There is a snack bar by the sea. They offer drinks and light meals. The type of food we had was HB and that was more than enough for us. Breakfast and dinner buffet style. The choice is small, but varied, the cuisine is delicious. If necessary, we bought lunch additionally at the hotel. Sometimes we went out into the city itself and dined in local taverns. For the cost, it was more economical to order lunch at the hotel. We rested without children, but this hotel is also suitable for families with children. There is an equipped children's pool and a playground. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas. Communication is best in the lobby. The hotel has its own beach. The place is small but quite comfortable. At the entrance to the sea there are plates and stones - this is not very comfortable, so I recommend using special shoes for swimming for convenience and safety. We are lovers of outdoor activities, and we love to discover new places and get vivid impressions. Last year we went to the Palace of Knossos and the cave of Zeus. We were very satisfied and I especially want to note the work of the tour guides - they are real professionals! This time we decided to go to the island of Spinalonga. We left for an excursion in the morning, the first stop was in the Selinari gorge, where the monastery of St. George is located. We are not very religious people, but we liked it. Fresh air, beautiful nature, interesting history. Then we went to the port of Agios Nikolaus, where we boarded a ship and went to the island of Spinalonga. We sailed for a short time, about 50 minutes it took our sea voyage along Mirabello Bay. Spinalonga Island is a fortress island, preserved in excellent condition. A small fortress was built by the Greeks as a defensive structure, then the Venetians strengthened and expanded. I am very grateful to the guide Sofia for the most interesting story about the island! The excursion program included lunch in the village of Elounda, where we had lunch in a sea tavern. After lunch we returned to Agios Nikolaus, where the guide told about the most interesting places. We sunbathed on the beach (very well equipped), walked around the city. On the way to the hotel we made a stop at the oil mill. We learned the process of production of olive oil and products based on it. It was possible to taste the products that are produced at the factory. We love olive oil very much and, of course, did not miss the opportunity to purchase natural oil directly from the production factory. There it is sold in very convenient metal packages, the prices are quite reasonable. We returned home for dinner. . The tour went great! Guide Sophia is a real professional!

The beach is within walking distance, the place is beautiful, the sea is clean and transparent! The entry into the sea is convenient, although the beach itself is small, you can walk and stay sunbathing absolutely on any beach, they are municipal. Nearby there is a small mini market where they bought fruit. For lunch we went to the neighboring town of Hersonissos. There is a bus stop literally 300-400 meters away. the fare was about 2 euros and the buses ran quite often. We also went to Heraklion for souvenirs from the same stop on public transport, it cost a little more, about 6 euros. Evenings were spent at the hotel. We had dinner at the main restaurant on the veranda overlooking the beach and the night city was visible from afar. There were few families with small children in the hotel, mostly foreigners and young couples, so there was an atmosphere of calm. The food was delicious, my son was very fond of pancakes for breakfast, and in the evenings I ordered a glass of delicious white Greek wine and enjoyed delicious fish. There was a Russian-speaking girl in the hotel, and she helped to resolve emerging issues, but there were few of them, mostly organizational ones. We went on an excursion to the island of Santorini. My dream came true and my son really enjoyed visiting the excavations of Akrotiri. He is fond of history and learned a lot for himself. In general, we are satisfied with the rest and left a lot of impressions in memory !! ! We advise everyone to visit Greece and plan trips to other islands ourselves.

The hotel is located in cascades - higher and higher and resembles a flowering Greek courtyard in the middle. There are two small pools (plus a children's pool), deep enough for diving. A restaurant with a veranda, two cafes, one across the road with a sea view, which is open from morning until 18.00 (however, there is a sea view everywhere! ) and offers different types of coffee, frappe, ice cream, wine-beer, cocktails and a second veranda and cafe-bar near the reception, open from 18 to midnight.

The hotel has a spa, upon arrival a 25% discount card is given for visiting for 24 hours, there is a tennis court and a small amphitheater, but there were no animation concerts (which I am glad about), except for a Cretan dinner in a cafe by the sea on Tuesday at a price of 17 euros.
The contingent is different, there are families with small children.
We stayed in the room sharing pool and it was wonderful. The pool is almost always empty and you swim as much as you want. Its depth is small 1.30, but enough for us - not Olympic reserves.
Your own veranda, on which there is a table and 2 chairs, what else is needed for a great pastime with a cup of coffee by the pool! There is also enough space to spread out two air mattresses, on which we sunbathed (they can be purchased upon arrival, the price is 7.5 euros). The room is spacious, large LG TV, 17 programs, one in Russian - "Planet". The hotel is very green and blooming - this is its big plus. We rested last June in the elite five - there was no such blooming variety. Hairdryer, refrigerator, individual air conditioning in the room. Upon arrival, they gave 2 shampoos, 2 bars of soap and 2 gels. The shampoo was brought again, the gel was not brought again. So who does not take his - mind you. Towels for hands, feet (one), bath - changed every day. Beach towels must be taken at the reception for a deposit. It was a nice compliment from the hotel upon arrival - a bottle of white wine, a bottle of water and fruit.
Cleaned the room carefully and imperceptibly, never encountered a maid in the room. Every morning the pool was cleaned and the leaves were caught.
The beach, or rather the coastal strip, runs across the road from the hotel and along it. Everywhere they rent sun loungers and umbrellas for 2.5 euros each item. There is also a small beach from the hotel, but I liked the coast to the right of the entrance with small picturesque rock formations, where there were practically no people. The sea is clean, the water is beautiful, cool. Slippers for the sea are needed, but some managed to go barefoot over small shells, and then immediately swim.
The restaurant corresponds to 4 stars for food, in the morning - fried sausages, ham, cheese, eggs in different variations, very tasty bread, a muesli set with delicious white and pink yogurt, fruits - watermelon, melon, peach (pieces), kiwi.
Coffee, tea, drinks in the morning are free, and in the evening drinks are for a fee, but there is no tea and coffee, only water, beer and wine, and not in 100 grams, but in bottles. For example, a small bottle of dry white wine 375 gr - 8.5 euros. In the evening, meat and fish, national salads, appetizers, various sauces, seasonings, pasta, pizza, baklava cakes, 4 types of ice cream. We had HB, but for lunch they covered and the guests of the hotel dined.
I’ll note an unpleasant minus here - the glasses are washed poorly and the remains of lipstick were noticeable: (
The staff is very friendly, which I noticed on my first visit to Crete. So our check-in took place at 11.30 instead of the prescribed 14.00, and we arrived at 10.00. The managers in the restaurant are very pleasant and polite, they always show you to a table or tell you where to sit. True, they ask to change seats if 2 people sit at a table designed for 4-6. But this is in the first echelon of food, then already - sit down wherever you want.
As a minus, I note the queue for dinner at around 19:00, although it passed quickly, but I still encounter this for the first time. Therefore, we tried to come either earlier or later.
The hotel is close to Heraklion, 30-40 minutes to the airport, a little further to the city center. Everyone writes 15 minutes to Hersonissos, perhaps (we drove for several minutes by car), but the road is inconvenient, narrow, you constantly have to avoid and let cars pass. Near the hotel to the right and left pavilion shops, loudly called supermarkets, everything you need is there. The hotel also has a shop with postcards, water, etc. In the evening, a photographer offers his services - the price is decent - 10 photos 20 euros.
If we lived in a building near the road with a small low fence, with scurrying cars, or in the middle of the hotel, but with a small dark fenced area where a table and two chairs barely fit, the impression of the hotel would be different.
But we lived far from the road, in a beautiful room, and therefore the impressions are the most optimistic. For me, staying at the hotel was a real relaxation - calm, comfortable, a minimum of contacts, a maximum of positive.

And the girls in the tour agency suggested the Hersonissos Maris hotel. I wanted to write a review as soon as I returned from a trip, but plunged into work. And the other day I was reviewing the photo and I wanted to share my impressions about Crete, the hotel and the rest in general. I think for someone my review will be useful. So, the hotel is located on the first coastline, we immediately liked it, but as it turned out later, the beach was not particularly useful to us, because the weather in May is not quite suitable for swimming in the sea. Having crossed the threshold of the hotel, I immediately noticed the number of foreigners and I was pleased. All the staff in the hotel are very friendly, everyone always says hello. The territory of the hotel is large enough. On the first day, tired of flying with a friend, we decided to treat ourselves to a hammam (Turkish bath). The next morning we felt cheerful (we don’t know if the bath helped us in this or the anticipation of rest) and went to breakfast. The restaurant has excellent cuisine and everything was very tasty. Everything is standard for breakfast, and, frankly, by the end of the holiday, it literally became boring, so we generally skipped breakfast in recent days and stayed in bed. But the dinners were very good. It is not far from the center of Hersonissos, you can take a walk, in the evening everything is lit with lights, restaurants, taverns, shops. The guide was very friendly and always helped with our questions. From excursions chose the Palace of Knossos. I still have the question of how people 4000 years ago built all this beauty without technology. We walked in the city of Heraklion, a beautiful small town, bought wine there as a gift for my mother. Yes, although we didn’t swim in the sea, we had a tan, but the impressions still do not leave))))

I will tell you about a wonderful holiday in the wonderful hotel Hersonissos Maris 4 *!
The hotel met with hospitality and smiles of employees, silence, tranquility, sea and greenery.
They settled within 30 minutes, although we arrived at 11:30 and it was 2.5 hours before the official check-in time. The room was excellent, it was cool and cozy on the first floor, there were flowers and pomegranate trees near the room. The room has everything you need, a wonderful bathroom, excellent cleaning every day, regardless of the tip, clean linen and snow-white towels.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Hersonissos, guaranteeing you a calm, measured rest, clean air, excellent beaches (near the hotel there are 3 beaches of your choice), healthy sleep and a sea of positive from communicating with kind, measured, smiling, executive, Greek people in the face hotel staff.
If you want to relax today, stay at the hotel and enjoy the sea breeze, sunset and moonlit path on the waves of the crystal clear sea, in which even in the light of the moon you can see the smallest pebble at the bottom.
If you want fun from the hotel to the city center and streets with restaurants and bars, cafes, shops and vibrant nightlife, walk about 15 minutes (or a taxi 7 euros). Walking is not scary, it is safe everywhere, and very useful after a delicious dinner in a restaurant.
About the restaurant, and this is actually a restaurant with service, serving and a huge selection of delicious dishes, only positive memories and not a single glass or washed plate.
Yes, if you are going to Hersonissos you have chosen the right city. It has everything for a wonderful holiday - beaches, good hotels, shops, bars, clubs, attractions.
If you are going to Crete, be sure to plan to rent a car and see the island - without this, the idea of u200bu200bthe island and the country will be minimal. The roads in Crete are without a single pothole, the junctions are quite simple, you can see everything yourself without expensive excursions and with stops at those beaches where you want, in those taverns you want to dine in, etc.
Be sure to visit Agios Nikolaos - incredible beauty, Elounda with wonderful beaches, by the way, in Elounda I recommend the Ergospasio restaurant overlooking the sea - insanely delicious for a reasonable price, huge portions and compliments from the institution in the form of a bottle of Pinot Noir champagne, fruit platter + many different tasty treats during lunch / dinner with huge shrimp with pasta in white sauce, delicious pork with vegetables, an indispensable Greek salad and always delicious orange fresh juices and all this for 30 euros for 3 (we didn’t eat everything, it was very, very much and very, very tasty ).
About excursions - the cave of Zeus is not worth attention, nothing interesting, and climbing a mountain vertically upwards in such heat is unbearable. Disappointment awaits at the top - you need to climb the same amount down into a cold cave with slippery steps and there is a bridge under it with water where gullible tourists throw money and pebbles.
For believers, a visit to the monastery of Our Lady of the Heart in Kera is a must, where you yourself will understand why you should definitely visit there.
I will definitely go to Crete again and to this hotel.
I wish you a pleasant stay and unforgettable impressions!

The hotel is located right in Hersonissos, across the road from the sea, very few cars drive along this road. The hotel is in a traditional style, simple but colorful interior, for a 4 * - excellent. Very beautiful, green, large area. Shops and cafes nearby. More about the beach: as already mentioned, across the road, but the beach is not immediately behind the road, and you also need to go through such a green area with trees and bushes, on this site there is a hotel snack bar, it is for extra.

More about the beach: as already mentioned, across the road, but the beach is not immediately behind the road, and you also need to go through such a green area with trees and bushes, on this site there is a hotel snack bar, it is for extra. fee (open from 10:00 to 18:00), then there is a beach, all in coves, large stones on the sides, and in the middle - small pebbles, along which it is quite convenient to enter the sea. But there are few places. Sun loungers/umbrellas - extra. pay, ok. 2.5 euros per set. Towels - a deposit at the reception of 5 dollars, once a week it can be changed free of charge. Wi-fi - free in the lobby. Once a week - live music, Greek evening (for an additional fee, 5 euros - drink, 15 euros - dinner). There is no animation. Great new spa. There is a small playground. About the rooms: 1. Double with sharing poool - several rooms have access to a common pool for these rooms, these rooms are called sharing pool. The bathroom is normal, only a bath with a curtain, no cosmetics, a hair dryer, a very large plasma TV, the furniture is simple, but not shabby. 2. Standard - as for me, the furniture in these rooms is even better, but everything is the same. 3. Maisonette rooms - 2-storey, with a fireplace, downstairs in the living room 2 sofas, children will fit, 2 bathrooms, on the 1st floor with a shower, on the 2nd floor with a bath, an excellent and large bathroom, 2 plasma TVs, a small pool . Our group had lunch at this hotel - I liked it, not superfood, but everything is fresh and tasty, I ate. A big plus of the hotel for those who like to hang out is a large selection of discos and nightclubs in Hersonissos, and at the same time the hotel is slightly removed from the entertainment street.

Rested together from 15.09. 2012-22.09. 2012 We chose the hotel because of its good location - not far from the city, but not a noisy place, because of the green area and not a large number of rooms, reasonable cost: compared with Spain, Andorra, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Turkey. Location, territory: located very close to the airport (which is convenient and not convenient at the same time, you don’t have to go through the entire mountainous country to the hotel and back, but you have the whole rest, hearing the rumble of aircraft above you is not very pleasant, but not catastrophic), the main part of the sights are nearby, the palace of Knossos, the Cave of Zeus, the plateau, Lassithi, etc.

We chose the hotel because of its good location - not far from the city, but not a noisy place, because of the green area and not a large number of rooms, reasonable cost: compared with Spain, Andorra, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Turkey.
On the one hand, some obscure buildings, wastelands, on the other hand, mini-forks, shops, in principle, nothing special, not colorful landscapes. In principle, there is no beach near the hotel nearby - on the left is not a large pebble (very small pebble, like rice) - a lot of people, like in Crimea a blanket is almost near a blanket, a sunbed for hire is 2.5 euros, an umbrella is 2.5 euros. On the right, there is a smaller beach, but also fewer people, although the road overhead with constant car traffic is a little relaxing, in general, not bad, but on the south coast of Crete, the beaches are better, wider and longer. The sea is fabulous azure, small-small pebbles, small fish, tourists dive with masks, but there is nothing special to see. The territory of the hotel is not small, all green, in flowers, cacti, bushes, well-groomed and fragrant.
Rooms, service: the rooms are made in the Greek style - painted walls, wooden furniture, minimalism, no kettle in the room, two glasses, hair dryer. rooms with swimming pools - made like apartments, with a mini-kitchen, and are convenient because you can swim in the pool at any time of the day. High-quality daily cleaning, change of towels, bed for 7 days changed 1 time. Friendly, helpful staff, receptionist Marina speaks Russian, the rest of the staff is fluent in English, a few words in Russian.
Cuisine: 80% of all food is tasty. For seven days, 20-30% of all food changed for breakfast, dinners changed daily 40% - there were fish and all kinds of meat, and squid, and mussels, from fruits: watermelons, melons, pears, grapes, orange. Everything is edible, fresh, not fancy but not fast food or catering. Alcohol and drinks in the evening paid 0.5 beer 3.6 euros, 0.5 bottle of wine 8.9 euros, water 1l. 3 euros, a glass of cola 2 euros. they sell glasses, only cola, fanta. Disadvantage: not tasty coffee, tea, and their complete absence at dinner. For breakfast, not juice, but diluted UPI.
Content: 50% of the hotels are Russian-speaking, mostly Russia, many Jews, the least Ukrainians - couples under 35, many girls of 2-3 people under 30, there are also Russian-speaking scandalous couples over 50 years old, in general, you can hear only Russians in scandalousness. Either they put them in the wrong place at dinner, then they occupied their sunbed, etc. If you want to take a break from the Slavic mentality, we do not recommend this hotel. about 30% of the guests of Grandma and Dudushka are Germans, all the rest are English, Italians, etc.
Entertainment: there is a scene for animation, but for 7 days there was not a single animation, except for the performance of local sertaki dancers for 5 euros per person (cocktail as a gift), a very mediocre performance, boring.
The city in which the hotel is located is a small village, along the embankment there are only cafes and restaurants, unfortunately focused on fast food - pizza, french fries, some seafood. Neither ourselves nor our guide could find / advise us a cafe with Greek cuisine ((there are many souvenir shops in the city, several supermarkets: Lida, Spar. From the establishments we can recommend from the hotel to the left - go to the beach, go up the road for a total of 10 minutes -15 from the hotel - a restaurant in a marine style (not to be confused with Yialos - to the right of the hotel, if you stand with your back to it, it looks more like a tavern, an eatery) - a good establishment in purple-gray tones, secluded, with a gorgeous view of the night city, quiet not counting the locals : ) because on the waterfront in such establishments from moving past people is very noisy Hersonissos is positioned as a resort for young people, they did not notice much variety for vacationers cafes, 2-3 nightclubs.
Regarding travel, I won’t write a lot of information on the Internet about this: our HUGE recommendation is not to take a car from your guides, or at the hotel at the reception 1.5-2 times more expensive than the locals. Having studied all the pros and possible risks, we opted for a local company, if you go to the right of the hotel next to the shop, there is a car rental prices the same as everywhere else in the city, there is a contract with Russian, they speak English well, but there are also Russian-speaking staff, there is support by phone in Russian and 100% insurance, Suzuki jeep convertible cost 90 euros for 2 days. It is necessary and possible to bargain with them, what is indicated in the price list is not the final price.
The general impression is that the hotel is good, calm, the only drawback is the beach.

I am very pleased that I chose this particular hotel! The location of the hotel is good, as it is not far from the airport, and there is where to spend time near the hotel, and you can also walk to the city, in which there are a lot of places where you can have a good time. and beauty, a lot of vegetation, it is clear that the gardeners have tried, everything is in the subject and well maintained! There are three swimming pools, one of them is for children.

There are three swimming pools, one of them is for children. The Internet is inexpensive, there is also a small shop, looks more like a souvenir. The service at the hotel and the staff are excellent!! ! Rooms with all amenities TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, a balcony view of the flowers, beauty!! ! Everything suited me! Food class! A rich choice in all types of dishes, everything is delicious and of European quality! The beach is not far, there are always free places sunbeds and umbrellas for a fee, the sunset is good and the depth is not right away. There is enough entertainment in the hotel, well done animators - they try to amuse everyone!
