About the hotel: small, family. The hostess is French, Marie and Christine are daughters, they are either at the reception or at the bar. We spoke in English, but we think that Russian can also be understood. Good location, in the center of Hersonissos. Settled quickly. We lived on the first floor, the balcony overlooked the pool, we could see the sea. The rooms are modest and clean. Cleaned every day, towels changed every other day, bedding once. The room has a double bed, bedside tables, a wardrobe, a TV, a small refrigerator, but it is paid, air conditioning is also for a pretty penny, we didn’t need it, the nights were cool. Internet in the lobby is free, if in the room - pay. Yes, a very small shower tray and a generally cramped bathroom.
The beaches near the hotel are not wide, rocky, but well equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas (for a fee). I really liked the clean sea. In general, the variety of beaches in Crete is amazing, but you have to move around the island to see all its beauty.
Food: breakfast from 7.30 to 9.30 - always the same, lean on feta (delicious) with tomatoes, eggs in different interpretations, breakfast cereals, jam, muffins, tea, coffee in assortment, juices. Dinners (from 19.00 to 20.30) are no longer so boring, although there was never a fish, once there was a paella with seafood, the soup was taken only once, it seemed strange. Olives are always on the table, but also not the usual small ones. Always a snack Greek tzatziki - yogurt with cucumbers and dakos - croutons with feta and tomato. Of seasonal fruits - obscenely sweet grapes and watermelons. For dessert, there are usually several types of ice cream. Drinks are not included in the dinner, they must be taken at the bar.
It was my wife's birthday and I asked for help organizing a surprise. In the end, everything was done perfectly, and they didn’t take money for wine, cake and flowers, they said that this was a present from the hotel.
organizational moments. We rented a car, which we recommend to everyone. There are a huge number of rental offices, but we booked in advance via the Internet (Cretarent). For 9 days of rent, 140 euros came out, about the same amount was spent on gasoline (1.7-1.8 euros / liter). But you can also travel by public transport - communication between the main cities is good.
About souvenirs: if you are going to bring olive oil, alcohol, cosmetics, sweets, cheese, olives - all this can be bought before departure at the duty free at the same prices as in the supermarket, so you can not overload the suitcase like we did? .
Summing up, we can call the hotel quite comfortable for its 3 stars. Crete is rich in history and natural beauty, travel!
There are no sea view rooms in the hotel at all, although if you go to the balcony and turn your head to the left, you can see the sea.
The hostess is a pleasant woman, calm, she did not bother me.
Near the hotel there is a beach, but pebbly. Good beach Star beach, but it takes about 15 minutes to walk.
All 3 * hotels are about the same: but some others have refrigerators and safes in the rooms (free of charge).
In general, for this money, the rest is excellent, and if you want something better, choose 4 * or 5 * hotels.
