The meaning of the screams, as I understood, was that I don’t give a fuck about a pool when there is a sea. The only advantage of this hotel is its location. The very center of the town.

It was very hot, they settled us quickly and putting things in the room, we went to the sea to swim. The water is very warm, turquoise color and pulls to swim. The first night we hardly slept, we were settled with a view of the roadway, and at night they begin a different life and everyone rests, drinks and has fun. In the morning with a headache, we went to the reception, they explained in English that it was impossible to sleep, it was very noisy. The next day, we were moved to another room without any problems, with windows overlooking the courtyard and for free! ) The rooms are clean, but very small baths, there is almost no hot water, at lunchtime it appears due to the fact that the sun heats the tanks on the roof. Air conditioning is paid. 6 euros per day. We didn't take. Immediately I say at night mosquitoes gnaw without fumitox is impossible! The safe, in the hotel, is also paid. 3 euros per day. At Star Beach every day at five in the evening there is a foam party, I advise you to go, it charges with positive! From the excursions we took Knossos, Spinalonga, Lassithi, the cave of Zeus, the WaterCity water park (I really liked it, there are a lot of slides, but there is not very cheap fast food), we went to the gypsy market on Saturday (everything is very cheap there, but it is designed for residents, so souvenirs you can't buy there, only clothes, food and shoes). We bought olive oil in Hersonissos and did not regret it, in Heraklion it is a little more expensive, and we did not want to take it in plastic bottles. The most interesting excursion was Knossos, probably because it was the first one, they visited the Lassithi plateau, a monastery in the mountains, it was very scary when the bus was driving at a height of a kilometer along a cliff. We also went to the Crete Aquarium, the cost is 9 euros, there are sharks, octopuses, hedgehogs, jellyfish and all kinds of fish. In the evening, a man played the piano in the hotel, Russian songs, but somehow we didn’t get to him, at that time we either walked or walked around the market. In general, the hotel is a solid trio, we never found simulators, although we were promised in a travel agency, there is a pool, but I don’t really want to swim there, since there is a sea. From myself I can say that we would not return to the hotel, I want a more comfortable stay, and the furniture is a bit old, repairs are needed. Opposite the hotel there is a touring club company where we took excursions with a Russian guide and were very pleased, the prices are two times different from those excursions that the guide offers you at the hotel. Crete fascinates with its beauty, I want to return there again! It is a pity that we did not go to Santorini.

Were all inclusive, food for 3 is COMPLETELY VARIOUS, especially lunches and dinners. Breakfasts are the same as EVERYWHERE!
I have never met friendlier staff than here! Just a small friendly family! Especially the well-known Sophia and the good-natured and sincere George. George played the piano and was a part-time animator. He even drove us to the sandy beach in his car for FREE several times. And he drove 2 girls absolutely free of charge to Knossos!! ! We bought a branch of bananas and got offended when we wanted to give money away : ) Where else can you find something like this!!!
The beach, shops, souvenirs and clubs are all nearby. There is a local water park nearby.
The best rooms are those overlooking the pool. In the evenings the view is gorgeous. The rooms are cozy, cleaned regularly, even without a tip.

This is the first time I am writing a review about a hotel, but, to be honest, this is the first time I have been so impressed by the hotel =) We went with a friend for 11 days together: I liked it incredibly! : ) It is worth mentioning that we were quite limited in funds, but our desires at the same time were, to put it mildly, limitless .

This is the first time I am writing a review about a hotel, but, to be honest, this is the first time I have been so impressed by the hotel =) We went with a friend for 11 days together: I liked it incredibly! : ) It is worth mentioning that we were quite limited in funds, but our desires at the same time were, to put it mildly, limitless ...; ) Therefore, we immediately decided that we wanted to pay as little money as possible for a ticket in order to take more with us, while we need a hotel with 2 or 3 stars, because inside we are only going to sleep : ). At the same time, we read all sorts of literature about Fr. Crete and clearly decided that we were going exclusively to Hersonissos, because this is, firstly, a youth resort, and secondly, from it you can quite easily get to most of the sights of this wonderful island.
The choice of the hotel fell on Venus Melen due to the cost and location, although when choosing a hotel in Moscow, we did not expect that this hotel was so well located!
: ) Our balcony went exactly to the main street, so every evening, before going somewhere, Natakha and I sat on our favorite balcony, drank and ate fruit : ). But despite the noisy street, it was quite comfortable to sleep, because the balcony door is very well soundproofed. Also in the context of the location, it is worth mentioning that it takes 6-7 minutes to walk from the hotel to the sea, 10 minutes to the disco street slowly, 3 minutes to the bus stop, there is a 24-hour grocery store nearby, and also exactly opposite is a wonderful tour desk (from which we went on excursions, although hotel guides scare tourists that it is extremely dangerous to travel from street travel agencies - in my opinion it’s nonsense! ) and rent scooters, ATVs and cars.
I can say the following about the hotel itself: it is very cozy and tidy.
Of course, you will not find European-quality repair and super furniture in it, but everything is quite decent and well-groomed, although it is clear that it is quite ancient; ). The food is very tasty, although they do not indulge in diversity, but the atmosphere created by the staff delights! It is in the dining room that an amazing woman named Sofia works, who, by the way, speaks wonderful Russian (if you go there, be sure to say hello to her! ). The pool is just amazing, both in size and in the purity of the water.
This, of course, no longer applies to the hotel, but on my own behalf I strongly advise you to go on an excursion to the Samaria Gorge, unless of course you are not afraid to walk 18 km on foot; ), in the end of course it's hard, but it's definitely worth it !!! ! : )
