We rested at the Hotel from 09/04/2013 to 08/10/2013, although we booked the hotel from 08/31/2013 to 08/10/2013. did not meet. The flight was delayed for 1.5 hours - we arrived after 12 at night, upon arrival the host said that there were no available rooms in the hotel and we were being taken to another Meropi 4 * hotel, they brought us almost the last until everyone was taken to the hotels, it was already the beginning second night.

Well, I won’t write anything about Meropi a normal hotel, with excellent spacious rooms, the only minus is the 2nd line, and the lack of its own beach, respectively, paid sunbeds. We lived there on suitcases for the first couple of days, then our local guide Polina said that if we like the hotel, then we can stay in it - we thought about it and decided not to waste half a day moving and stay there, it seems that we have already got used to the hotel, got used to it . But then she called and said she couldn't leave us. Moving on the 4th at 12 noon, on the 4th we got together and went to the reception, there we meet Polina who says that we will not go now but at 13:30, it is apparently not her duty to warn. The keys to the room were taken away from us and after dinner with full bellies in the heat, with suitcases, the transfer began, in a minibus ala gazelle. In general, again the aforementioned Labyrinth. Upon arrival in Miramare, it turned out that there is a miracle building “B” there, about which nothing was mentioned - in all booklets there are only buildings on the seashore, and B is located on the outskirts of the hotel, actually not on its territory, but by the road and right in front of the club - very beloved by the British, every day they go out of it late at night - with screams, yelling, they came to our pool (the territory of the building is not fenced stupidly there is a building, in front of it there is a pool with sun loungers, 2 common toilets on the street for whom it is not clear - apparently for the English) but they preferred the pool, swam there, emptied in it, and regularly left their underwear floating there. At the reception, Madame named Elektra, pretending not to speak Russian, silently gave us the keys to the "burrow" on the first floor under the stairs, which did not even have a window, but a plastic window about 30x50 in size. The sun did not shine there, not during the day or in the evening, since the room was under the stairs, things did not dry there during the day. In Nora, it wasn't the hood in the bathroom, nor the TV, that the showerhead was hanging on the faucet, because the holder had been uprooted. At night it turned out that apparently someone went into the closet in a small way, or someone put underwear that can be described by small children and it was soaked all over and emitted such a stench that it was impossible to sleep, since it stood 40 cm from the bed directly parallel to it, in its entire length, the mattresses smelled like a dog - they went to swear at the Reception, they didn’t care, they went to our hotel guide from Gulie’s Labyrinth - she couldn’t help either, the next morning, we came and told Gulia that if we were not relocated to another room we will bring our things to the reception and we will live there. In the afternoon we were moved to the 2nd floor. The rooms are of course tiny even for 2, let alone 3 adults - like us, the balcony door was hard to open against the teal bed. There is practically no balcony - even the clothes dryer could not be completely decomposed, not to mention the fact that they could go out on it. True, they cleaned every day, and changed towels, maybe because they left 1 euro daily. On the beach in the first days, one man severely cut his finger in the sea, several stitches were applied. There is a lot of food in the hotel, but it is monotonous, there was practically no fish, not to mention shrimp. Sweets are awful, not sweet, but like grass, although they look very appetizing. The meat was normal, there was pork, chicken, a rabbit came across a couple of times. There were always not enough tables, you had to wait for free tables, dinner from 7 to 9, but at 7 there are no free tables, and after 8 there are only leftovers, and the tables are not even set again, and the waiters defiantly spin around you, cleaning the neighboring tables, hitting you , especially for you to leave, and they quickly wash off. The coffee machine, probably from the 70s, which constantly either did not work, or poured half a cup, did not brew a cappuccino at all, or the button was simply turned off. About juices I vaabsche keep quiet, there Jupi diluted another 1 to 2 probably. There is no animation, a couple of times there were some kind of laughingstock, like the songs of some woman - maybe they found her on the street and asked to sing for 3 euros, all the tables laughed. On the last day of departure, the water in the entire building disappeared at night, they gave it closer to 11 days, when we were already renting a room - we could not go to the toilet, brush our teeth, or wash ourselves. In general, the holiday was terrible starting from the Labyrinth and ending with the hotel and staff. We rested a lot somewhere, but we have never seen such a mess.

This hotel belongs to High Beach 4 *, it is, as it were, its building lower in star rating. It uses its infrastructure, but is located outside its territory right on the beach. This building is not guarded, not fenced, which is not very pleasant, given that right past it is the road to the beach, along which ATVs, motorcycles, cars, etc.

This hotel belongs to High Beach 4 *, it is, as it were, its building lower in star rating. It uses its infrastructure, but is located outside its territory right on the beach. This building is not guarded, not fenced, which is not very pleasant, given that right past it is the road to the beach, along which ATVs, motorcycles, cars, etc. drive up. The road is very narrow and the transfer bus cannot get here, it leaves 200 meters on the road, you need to go to the hotel yourself. Reception is shared on the territory of High Beach. First we were settled in room 21 on the first floor near the stairs. The room is tiny, two steps from the threshold and a bed. The closet did not open completely because of the bed. I had to remove the bedside table and move the bed against the wall. In the toilet next to the toilet there is a hole in the floor and a shower. The distance from the toilet to the wall is half a meter. That is, you wash standing at the toilet. There is nowhere to dry clothes. The room has a second door-window to the street and a window also to the street. Although the glass is frosted, it is not very pleasant, especially in the evening, so the second door and window are always covered with a curtain. From this, the room is dark and uncomfortable. At night, someone drove by the second door all the time, walked, in the morning there were empty bottles. In general, horror. I was alone with a teenage girl. In the evening, I complained to the guide that having paid 3.5 thousand dollars for 2 weeks, I was counting on something more convenient for relaxing with a girl. I want to say thanks to the guide from LeGrand Gulie, who resolved this issue and three days later we were moved to a room on the second floor No. 29. It was a little larger, but lighter, with a balcony where you could finally dry your laundry. Toilet-shower, true, the same, but I already spat on it. I had a standard room for 1 adult + 1 child and, of course, I could not claim a family room. By the way, many visitors were accommodated in room 21, but after a while relocated. Apparently, he is their transshipment. I don’t understand people who say that they didn’t come to sit in the room and they don’t care. Although we did not sit in the room, but after dinner from 14 to 16 we rested in the room, as it was very hot. After swimming before eating, we went into the room several times to wash and change, in the evening from 22 o'clock we were also in the room. This is a lot and I want to relax, and not bother with everyday problems.
The hotel is located in such a way that you have to go to the beach bar and the pool bar in order to get a drink, ice cream, which is not very convenient. There are two pools where children constantly frolicked and it was annoying. At first they rarely used the pools, but then the sea began to worry, I was afraid to swim, I had to switch to pools.
This hotel has a beach with free sunbeds and umbrellas High Beach, there are many of them, they were always free, but vacationers from the village were allowed to use the free sunbeds for a fee. On the beach, everyone behaved decently, which can not be said about the village, but this is not the topic of the hotel.
The room was cleaned every day, bed linen and towels were changed every day. Toiletries were changed a couple of times. It's not very convenient that they were cleaned after dinner, when people were resting. I understand that before lunch from 11 o'clock they cleaned the rooms from which the tourists had checked out, and after lunch they took care of the rest of the rooms.
Beach towels give a deposit of 10 euros, exchange for clean 2 euros. Hairdryer, iron also on bail. But not for the entire stay, but use it and bring it back. With a hair dryer it's not convenient! Safe in the room 25 euros per week, locked with a key that needs to be hidden somewhere.
The hotel area is small but very well maintained. Everywhere flowers, all sorts of plants, trees. There is a tiny pond with fish, a chapel, a playground. Very cozy.
The restaurant periodically had a problem of empty seats. We just began to come to the beginning of the meal and always found a place for ourselves. But there were two of us, a small table is easier to find, and families, of course, have a problem. The waiters were quick to clear dirty dishes and prepare tables for the new arrivals. We liked the food in general. Large selection of meat, fish. Grilled. Very tasty olive pasta for a snack, the olives themselves, corn and olive bread. Most of all, I loved breakfasts. Very tasty cereals (oatmeal, rice), fresh pancakes, grain bread with nuts, omelettes, etc.
By the way, High Beach has its own garden right outside the territory. And all the vegetables that were served in the restaurant are grown on this site. A worker was busy there all the time, watering, trimming, loosening. Of the fruits, there were always watermelons, melons, peaches, nectarines, grapes, bananas, citrus fruits, kiwi, less often apples for lunch and dinner (as well as at the beach bar). Of course, if you come to the end of the meal, there will be no the best. Desserts: baklava, honey cakes, cream cakes, jelly, delicious cream in bowls. Desserts are monotonous, but if you do not eat everything at once, but alternate, then completely.
What else? Internet? Wi-Fi for a fee. You need to buy a card at the reception. We bought a card twice for 200 minutes for 10 euros and for 100 minutes for 6, I think. Enough for 2 weeks to talk on Skype, check mail, etc. The signal is not very strong, you need to look for a place with good reception. Near the building on the beach there is a Dolphin bar, where wi-fi is free, but only if you buy something. If you buy a cocktail, ice cream there, you won’t be able to meet 10 euros, but you will sit for an hour, so it’s unprofitable.
It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the nearest public transport stop. In the heat, this is essential. We used it a couple of times, went to the Cretan Aquarium, the neighboring city of Hersonisses. You can go to Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos, but my daughter refused to travel because of the heat.
This no longer applies to the hotel, but we took three excursions from LeGrand to the Palace of Knossos, the Lassithi plateau with the cave of Zeus, Spinalonga, a transfer to the Aquapark. I liked the guides, buses, but there are tourist offices near the hotel where excursions can be bought cheaper. I just didn’t bother with it, walk, compare, bought it at the hotel. We ourselves went to the ruins of the Minoan palace in Malia. It's up to you, but it's a long walk for about an hour!!! ! The hotel said that it would take 15 minutes to walk and I regretted 8 euros for a taxi. Still, we caught a taxi back)))) Not far from the hotel there is LeGrand's office, where we were given a diagram of Malia with all the notes, very clear. It was useful to us in our trip to the ruins. Yes, and we found a stop on it. I liked the hotel guide Gulia. Maybe because we bought excursions from her, but she was friendly, sociable. Well, I solved the problem with the number at the very beginning. It's just that someone wrote about her not very well.
I apologize for the wordiness. I'm glad if someone helped.

1. Arrival / departure. We took a taxi from the airport and back. 2. We were settled in a two-room suite on the ground floor. We liked the room, although the furniture is old. There was a balcony where you could sit. There was also something like a small patio where we dried things. You can hear the animation of the neighboring hotel, but after a while we got used to it, and no longer paid attention.

Another, one more thing, a hair dryer in the room for a deposit of 10 euros.
3. Sea/beach. Sandy beach, suitable for children. The beach is clean, sunbeds and umbrellas are free. Towels on deposit 10 euros, change 2 euros.
4. Cleaning. Above all praise. Cleaned up every day. Change of towels daily. Bed change after 2/3 days.
5. Nutrition. Cooked in general very tasty. The choice of meat is very good (there was veal, lamb, lamb, beef, pork). There is a children's table (french fries, pasta . . )
6. Animations, we can say that they are not. There was a Cretan evening, and one evening a saxophonist.
7. Very friendly staff.
8. In the evening you can walk around the shops.
9. Excursions from the host country are expensive. We took from the host side the Palace of Knossos, the cave of Zeus, a pottery workshop and a monastery - 120 adults / 105 children. And so there are travel agencies on the street, we took the company from McDonald's.
And so all the reviews can be read about the hotel Hight Beach ****.
