The only plus is the convenient location of the hotel. To the sea 3 minutes. Very close to Heraklion - you can get there for 1.5 euros by bus. And that's it, further cons. The food is disgusting - even the locals have already heard about it. They said that the owners buy the cheapest products. But their cook also manages to spoil them so much that it is often simply impossible to eat them. Fruits are practically absent - for a week at dinner twice everyone was given two! tiny pieces of unripe watermelon (remember: it's Crete in September!! ! ). Can't ask for more! On other days, instead of watermelon, they also handed out a small piece of something sweet - and not cake, and not baklava. There are no soups. At the distribution stands a stern man who, with undisguised malice, watches every spoonful of what is put on the plate. The amount of food offered is minimal.
By the way, the dishes are persistently asked to clean up after themselves.
Classic room. Hairdryer did not work, but they gave a portable one at the reception. The sink was leaking - while you wash yourself, there is already a flood on the floor. They didn't fix it in a week. They just put my towel under the sink, but that didn't stop the flood. To turn on the air conditioner, you need to find a certain position of the balcony door: if you close it completely, then the air conditioner does not work. There is a kettle in the room, but it was so "overgrown" with plaque that I did not want to use it. Cleaning is mediocre. Very rude manager.
There is a swimming pool. Sunbeds must be taken by ourselves and after use, also cleaned by ourselves. Next to the pool ajar manhole-the smell is appropriate!
Here is such an experience of staying in Amoudara.
Well, Crete is amazing as always! But not in this hotel.

There were almost no fruits. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the waitresses and the bartender. Owner George tries to resolve all issues and almost all the time in plain sight. On the day of arrival, I arrived at 21.30, and dinner from 19 to 20, but the owner took me to a restaurant where they fed me. Such a meeting of the guests was very pleasant. Room (235) is quite spacious, shower, toilet, hairdryer, air conditioning, safe, refrigerator, large TV, kettle, dishes - everything works fine. There is a balcony with a table and chairs. The bed is very big and comfortable. The light in the room at night can be turned off without getting out of bed, the 2nd switch at the head. Cleaned every day, towels were changed in the same way, you could ask for one more and take it to the beach. The bed was changed after 4 days. I slept with an open balcony, it was quiet and there were no mosquitoes, but people who lived on the 1st floor overlooking the pool complained that there were mosquitoes. In general, I had a good rest. If you are looking for an inexpensive and relaxing holiday, this hotel is suitable.

I will write only the facts:
1. My flight arrived late, I was definitely late for dinner. However, the owner of the hotel, George, settled me very quickly. When I entered the room, I found that a warm dinner was waiting for me - rice with vegetables, grilled meat, vegetables. It was just super, I didn’t even realize how hungry I was until that moment.
2. The room is clean (No. 222), plumbing is in order, there is hot water. The room has a refrigerator, kettle, air conditioning, TV. Cleaned every day, towels changed every day. Although I remember one of the guests was indignant about the replacement of the bed - they say, we have been sleeping for 5 days, and they don’t change us. Straight pipets disaster, at home you probably change the bedding every day !!!!
3. View from the window - the pool and the cozy courtyard of the hotel, everything is clean and well maintained. During the day it is noisy, as people bathe in the pool, squeal, clamor. But during the day I was mostly on excursions, or on the beach, or somewhere else I walked. At night I slept with an open balcony, because I will breathe air-conditioned air in Russia too. And so you sleep, a light breeze flies from the balcony - a blunder. True, mosquitoes also fly - but I took plates and a fumigator with me. So not a single mosquito got to me
4. Food - breakfast and dinner. For tomorrow - tea, coffee, cereal, milk. Bread, butter, yogurt, honey, jams, croissants, cake. Cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, ham (I think soy). Those who are used to having a hearty breakfast are certainly not enough, but I always ate. Dinners were amazing - always vegetables, salads, always hot (meat, fish), side dishes. Hot food is served in portions. You are not allowed to bring your own drinks, only for an extra charge. But this is the norm for hotels. They have to make money in the end.
5. Wi-Fi - does not reach the room, it takes well downstairs by the pool. I used to chat with my family on Skype there in the evening. Communication was good.
6. Staff - polite, smiling. The owner George is generally always in sight, communicates with the guests, does not allow scandals and conflicts. I remember a couple of times I was late for dinner, so he always instructed the staff to feed me - this, of course, was no longer a buffet, but they brought me hot with a side dish.
7. A rather funny story happened to me at the hotel - I bought Greek-style sandals and forgot them on a chair by the pool in the evening. Went out in the morning and they were gone. Just terribly upset. Here George runs around (I must say he gets up early, he is already on his feet in the morning, he is always energetically doing something, he greets the guests) - well, I’ve lost my shoes to him, they say, anyway. He launched a frantic search for them, forced me to write an ad in Russian, and asked other guests himself. In general, he was imbued with my problem, he was very sympathetic, consoled that there would definitely be shoes. In the end, they were found, the girl that was sitting with me in the evening, saw that I had forgotten them, took them to me to give them back the next day, but we missed each other due to excursions)))
8. Two significant advantages of the hotel for me - the sea is 2 minutes away, there is a bus stop nearby - you can ride sightseeing buses yourself and easily return.
9. They evicted me exactly at 12 on the day of departure, and they were supposed to pick me up from the hotel at 19.45. I was taken in by an absolutely wonderful woman, a Muscovite, Larisa Ivanovna. So I still hung around the hotel until the evening, went to the beach. None of the staff said a word to me, they didn’t make me pay extra for anything.
10. Safe - paid, 1 euro per day. I took it, because there is nothing to tempt people with your trinkets and currency.
In general, I had a great rest, I have no complaints about the hotel. I express special gratitude to the owner of the hotel, George, he is great. You can feel the owner's hand in the hotel. He saw me off very warmly, even kissed me on both cheeks)))
I recommend the hotel for people who are not pretentious, who understand what they pay for. No need to wait for a 5* service from a 3* hotel. You are guests in this country and hotel, please behave politely and you will be happy))))

My husband and I chose the hotel ourselves, remembering from the experience of Cyprus that three stars is very good. But they were wrong. . . But they were wrong. . .
Acquaintance with the room began with a feeling of falling into the eighties - old, shabby furniture, dirty. It was disgusting to even sit on the sofa, the Spartan decor in the bathroom was amazing. Instead of a shower cabin, a tiny nook, fenced with oilcloth, falling off a towel rack.
After the air conditioner could not bring down a degree from 32 for two hours, the owner was called. His stormy joyful speech boiled down to one fact - why do you need air conditioning when you can open the windows and there will be a fresh breeze? And it doesn’t matter that there is a swimming pool under the windows, and the curtain is almost transparent.
After ten minutes of bickering, he took us to another room, which had a working air conditioner (it went off quite rarely when it didn't have enough power) and blinds on the windows. The room overlooked a small road, but I can not complain about the noise from the cars - there were few of them.
One thing can be said about the breakfast - poor. A loaf of bread, buttercreams on it, a modest amount of thin slices of ham, cheese, old grainy cucumbers, and corn flakes. Savings is the main motto of the owner... I didn’t want to get up for such a breakfast at all, as a result, we began to take scrambled eggs in a nearby cafe for locals, where there was a very nice owner (Lazaros-mese-cafe was called a cafe), generously supplying me with lemons for water own cultivation.
The sheets are downright dirty. Bed linen was changed once, and even then it would be better not to change it. Even sleeping on them was disgusting. The cleaning lady came at a random time - half past nine, eleven, twelve, four o'clock.
Wi-Fi in the rooms almost never worked. The signal just didn't get through.
Judging by the open windows in the daytime, the air conditioners did not work almost anywhere.
And the final touch to the picture - one night, in a nearby hotel opposite (Albatross) for two hours, from two to four, a dog barked. I love animals, so I think the owner is to blame. However, I believe that the guests expressed their opinion to the owner on this matter, and the dog remained culturally silent in the future, only occasionally uttering a couple of woofs about the company returning too late.

We were first settled in apartments located next to this hotel (Lastella), not at our request. We agreed, we only planned to stay at the hotel for the night, we always rent a car and return for dinner. There was a stove and I fried potatoes 2 times, the owner of the hotel immediately noticed this and offered us to pay an additional fee of 20 euros per day for staying in these apartments. Then he billed us (3 euros) for using the safe, which was not there! We refused and he moved us to a room, which turned out to be large with an uncomfortable bed with protruding springs and two sofas that we did not need. It was disgusting that the hotel staff monitors each guest, who ate what, drank what, where he went, what he brought with him, who rented what car. The owner is just insanely greedy, ignoring any request until you pretend to look for the guide's phone number on the information board. He himself sits at the reception when we first arrived at this hotel (9 am), for 10 minutes he simply did not pay any attention to us. In the evening, during the broadcast of the World Cup, he simply approached and turned off the TV in the hotel lobby, said that his hotel was closing and offered to watch it in his rooms or in a nearby cafe. I do not want to swear on vacation and wag my nerves. But the most disgusting was the food in this crappy hotel. Breakfasts are simply poor - rubber, inedible sausage, laid out on a tray at a distance of 3 cm from each other, and the same tray with disgusting cheese. I'm not picky, but even yogurts were every other day, for some reason they were replaced with halves of canned peaches cut into eight pieces. Omelets, no eggs. . . Tomatoes, cucumbers always every other day, never at the same time. The flakes were the cheapest, you always had to ask for milk. Dinner was even worse. There is simply no choice of food. 3 times there was meat, 2 times chicken, once some small fish, the rest of the time there were vegetarian dinners. Somehow my husband approached the cook (who stood at the distribution every day) for a second piece of meat, he was refused, after that my husband turned to the hotel owner for clarification, who immediately sat next to him and, as always, followed everyone. The owner explained that if the husband was given more meat, then someone might not have enough! ! CAN YOU IMAGINE THIS?? ? Another dinner was vegetarian tomatoes, which the chef also handed out, stuffed with some kind of herb, the chef asked how we liked them (obviously scoffing! ), To which we replied that it would be nice to stuff the tomatoes with meat. The cook said it was a great idea, and he never knew it. Drinks at dinner were paid and we basically did not buy them. They drank wonderful Greek dry red wine, bought in the city of Daphnes (not far from Heraklion) at a small factory, but in their room. In general, all people were dissatisfied. By the way, dinners were strictly from 19.00 to 20.00 hours. For comparison, a year ago we rested in Rhodes (Greece) in a 3-star hotel, came for dinner by 21.30, the food was good, even for dinner and lunch there was always ice cream, they even gave mussels, there were 3 types of eggs. Yes. . . there is something to compare! I would NEVER recommend this hotel to ANYONE. And I really liked Crete, and the Greeks, too, are very responsive and friendly. But, as you know, in any family is not without its black sheep!

The representative of Mouzenidis (damn them! ) loses interest as soon as you do not buy excursions for 250 euros and do not interfere in anything. They write correctly - the owner is greedy to the point of impossibility, he will not give water to children if the bracelet is removed. Who wants to spoil their vacation, you should go to Marirena. Although I will say about Amoudara, the sea is excellent, the taverns are decent.
