In principle, this building is quite convenient in the sense that it is not noisy, you can not hear music and noise from the restaurant, all bars with activities are in the distance, close enough to the sea. To the restaurant 5 minutes walk, to the sea about the same, a little longer.
The downside is that there is no Internet, only at the reception, and the bathroom . . it is of course completely antediluvian. A small tray in the shower and a sticky curtain, the water pressure was always different, but more often good. A one and a half year old child was afraid to wash in such a shower, washed in the sink with persuasion) an important point, Mosquitoes! Here, of course, everything is for sale, but on the first day you may not have time to buy and be bitten, me and the child, even with a fumigator, are all in bites.

Everything is locally prepared, we don’t eat such porridges in Russia, plus they are very sweet. But there is always cheese, vegetables, eggs. For lunch, you can find pasta and some vegetables steamed or stewed. All meat and fish in spices. For dinner, there is no choice at all for the child. We asked the employee who works at the restaurant at the entrance to ask the chef to cook a soup without salt and spices with vegetables and chicken breast for the child - they cooked all week meekly, for free.
The new rooms at the water park seemed uncomfortable to us, because. there is a strong smell of bleach, stuffy and next to the amphitheater, which hosts a mini-disco at 20.45, then an hour later a disco for adults. The new pool rooms in front of the restaurant are also inconvenient in that well, very noisy from the music in the bar and amphitheater.
In general, we did not understand where it would be better to live)

We rested with a family with two children in July 2013. We booked a family room (2 rooms). Upon arrival, they settled in a remote building on the ground floor near the passage to the sea. Opposite the window is an abandoned wasteland with a homeless person who every day made some smelly brew on a fire. The murdered number resembles more a ward of a domestic hospital.

They asked to be moved - there were no rooms. They offered to come the next day at 9 am for relocation. We arrived on time - there were no rooms. The girl at the counter asked me to come at 12. We came, they showed us a better number than before. But it hasn't been removed yet. They said they would move to exactly the same as they showed, but in a different block. They said to come back in an hour. I asked several times - is it exactly the same? ? Confirmed yes. We went to lunch. Since they ran at the request of the staff to them every time like clockwork, as they asked, this time they were no longer in a hurry, they dined calmly. Came in an hour and a half and ran into frank rudeness of the staff. The girl attacked us in a raised voice: "Where do you go, why are you tearing down my settlement, why don't you come on time. " We were shocked.
As a result, we were moved, but when we entered the room, we saw that it was absolutely not the same as we were shown before, but completely different. Moreover, worse than the one from which we moved. The children's room was without a single window!! ! Pantry. How can a hotel with such rooms be 4 stars???
We returned to the reception, asked for the number that was shown to us - it was not there. They asked to return to where they were - they refused us and said that they could not help us with anything else.
Only an appeal to the tour operator with a demand to return the money for the ticket helped us to solve the situation. On the 5th day of our stay we were given a normal room. But the first 5 days of rest were spoiled very seriously.
Wouldn't recommend this hotel if you don't want to ruin your holiday.

To the delight of children and adults, there is a mini-water park. Everyone's favorite pizza is cooked in the oven for almost a whole day. Throughout the day, the hotel has an international team of animators - well done, they try. There is a mini-club for kids, but we didn't go there anymore. City municipal beach is 3-5 minutes walk from the hotel. Sand, very gentle beach, two sun loungers and an umbrella for 6 euros. And, of course, an evening entertainment show in the amphitheater, how could it be without it. To be honest, it left a double impression - just thanks for the effort. We did not rent a car, although there was a desire.
The palace of Knossos remains one of the most impressive sights of the Minoan era. As part of the group, we visited it, as well as a walking tour of the city of Heraklion. It was very interesting. The staff at the hotel is friendly. Nui in conclusion, I would like to note that the Gouves Park Holiday hotel in terms of price-quality is just an ideal place to relax. The main thing is a good mood and positive. Have a nice holiday everyone!
