Glass bridge - a new miracle of Tbilisi
Walking around the city on the feast of St. George, the patron saint of Georgia (May 6), we observed the commissioning of a funny structure - an openwork glass ribbon, which is officially called the 'Peace Bridge'. They installed it in a few weeks. The bridge-gallery hung over the Kura in the area between the old Metekhi bridge and the Niko Baratashvili bridge (it is easy to recognize him by ironic scenes cast in bronze). From there, we examined the new bridge. It hung right under the residence of the President and leads from the Berikoni complex (right bank) to the square. Rike (left bank). The author of the project is Michele de Lucci, an Italian with a Georgian passport. He is known in Tbilisi by the bizarre building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is also extravagant - an openwork-transparent three-dimensional structure made of glass and metal seems to sprout from the ground and flow along the highway. I think the bridges of Tbilisi could become milestones of the excursion route - there are more than 10 of them in the city! And each has its own story, woven into the history of the capital.
