Georgia. Batumi, Adjara. Our family time. Part 2
Georgia. Batumi, Adjara. Our family time. Part 1 >>>
I think that vacation by the sea in Batumi is, of course, good and wonderful, but you should not limit yourself to this, because Georgia is beautiful and worth seeing!
The best option for a family is the opportunity to travel with the help of a company like gotrip. Here are good rates, excellent drivers and the opportunity to enjoy Georgia to the fullest, without rushing to the bus, as is the case with travel companies. On the company's website, you can build a convenient route, upon completion of which you will see the final cost of the trip and travel time (meaning the time for which you will be delivered there and back). At the end of the reservation, for which you pay nothing, and therefore you can make it in advance, until the best drivers are sorted out, as is the case in high season.
The confluence of two rivers
Life hack along the route. What is the best way to build it? Yes, very simple! Find websites of Georgian travel companies. Choose a suitable excursion and build a route using a Google map. Yes, it takes a little fiddling, but it's worth it. You will not be busy in buses, rushing after a crowd of tourists, but you will enjoy swimming in waterfalls, gorgeous views of the mountains as much as this day allows you.
So, what can you see in Adjara?
The confluence of two rivers. At the time of our stay there, one river was dirty, and the second was just crystal clear. In the mountains, to the crystal clear river, we went further.
Makhuntseti Waterfall, admission is free, you can swim in the heat, the water is not even too cold, but crystal clear, you can drink it. Yes, yes, I'm not kidding, people collect water under the waterfall and drink. We also tried it, but higher in the mountains, the water is really delicious. A lot of souvenirs are sold near the waterfall, and the cost of some is cheaper than in Batumi. It is also possible to purchase homemade wine, berries and fruits. On the other side of the road there is an opportunity to visit the stone bridge of Queen Tamara.
And as it turned out, on the way to the mountains you can see more than one bridge, and all of them are also Queen Tamara, since they were built during her reign. Apparently, the queen was very fond of the mountains and so that she could visit these places, such stone bridges were erected.

Oh, yes, all this beauty is located in the Makhachela National Park, founded in 2012 and covering an area of .8733 hectares. It is located just 30 km from Batumi, in the Makhachel Gorge. There are tourist routes on the territory of the park, at the entrance to them there are signs and the length of this route. 95% of the park is covered with untouched forests! In Georgia, forests are not cut down just like that, there are no such bald patches in the mountains as in Ukraine. This process is really controlled at the legislative level and a certain area has been allocated for deforestation.
The road to the Mirveti waterfall, further along our route, passes through the Arched Bridge, which at first seems to be pedestrian, it is so narrow. But after passing the bridge, nevertheless, you will have to walk a little to the waterfall on foot. Entrance is still free, fabulous boxwood forest along the way, all tree branches are covered with moss, which looks amazing, although this forest is actually sick. It turns out that these trees are very beautiful even when they are sick.

I strongly advise you to climb higher into the mountains and enjoy this incredible breathtaking beauty! Here you can go hiking, as well as climb in an ordinary car along a chic serpentine. The road is smooth, so this is not a problem. Initially, we could not understand how people live in houses, so high in the mountains? But having seen the road to them, and after learning that public transport runs every day, doubts about the difficulties of local living were dispelled.
Do you want to buy a house in these places? And try! The locals value what they have and will not want to sell their valuables. They pass them on from generation to generation. They say that you can buy only for a very high price, and that is not a house, but a piece of land where you can build it. Well, I'm not surprised, because there is everything that your heart desires! Mountains and forests, rivers and waterfalls, and therefore clean air and water.
It was very hot on the day of our trip, so swimming in the mountain river and waterfalls seemed like heavenly pleasure to us. And the unique places of untouched nature, fried trout, khachapuri and a glass of wine made our stay in Adjara unique.
