Georgia - all year round: from ski season to summer rafting.
Georgia, pierced by the mountain ranges of the Greater Caucasus and marked by riverbeds and rivulets, is truly a country of contrasts. And tourists from this only a plus! With such a relief and an abundance of sun, they ride on the snowy slopes from December to April and raft down turbulent and muddy rivers from May to October. The events we are talking about here are not one, but a couple! There was a worthy reason to get together: on Victory Day, May 9, the winter season in Gudauri was closed and summer rafting on the Aragvi River was opened. The initiators of these promotions for active travelers are Tebulo Tour from Tbilisi, the Gudauri Hotel and the Georgian Rafting Federation JOMARDI. It was they who shared with us a photo joke under the code name "Zima-Leto Super Season in Gudauri". Participants of the performance in a raft in the snow: Georgians, Ukrainians, Russians, Bulgarians. For the uninitiated: *Gudauri is a dynamic run 120 km from Tbilisi along the Georgian Military Highway of excellent quality; ski area from 1990 m to 3300 m; prepared tracks - 13 km, hotels - from $40/person/day. * Aragvi - a mountain river along the Georgian Military Highway, difficulty category 2-3, rafting with an instructor on a section 15 km long. In addition to outdoor activities, in those parts you can: - explore the medieval fortress in Ananuri, - taste trout and eat khinkali in a roadside tavern, - arrange a photo shoot on the shore of the Zhinvali reservoir. The beauty!
