Fabulous Georgia (August 2014)
About Georgia))
I'll tell you about my weekend in this wonderful country)) I flew to Vizeir (Kyiv - Kutaisi, round trip about 2.5 thousand UAH).
As soon as I went down the ladder, the Georgians attacked me. All are very friendly. Often “Wow! I will take such a beautiful girl for free, I will feed, drink, if necessary I will settle, I will conduct a tour! Whatever you want - choose!
I didn't choose. )) My friends took me. Let's go to Kobuleti. The town is special. This is where the locals mostly hang out. We checked into the Edemi Hotel, Wi-Fi on the balcony, the beds are small, the shower is poor, the room is cramped, but it’s okay to spend the night. I don't know how much it costs (didn't pay). The town is noisy, dirty, untidy. Something similar to me to a mixture of Odessa and some non-kosher resort of the South Coast. There are many restaurants. Noisy. Tasty. They took barbecue (I recommend, of course), cornbread, cheeses, a dish (I forgot the name) such as porridge from suluguni and corn, salad. On the very first day I fell in love with Georgian lemonade!! ! It's something with something! The taste is incredible!! ! Georgians divide wine into three types: light, medium, black. The most intoxicating thing is Saperavi, be careful with him. We got drunk and ate for 40 lari (rate: 1 dollar = 1.7 lari).
In addition to lemonade, of course Borjomi! in stores 0.8 liters within one and a half lari. Lemonade is even cheaper)
Stop number 2 - Batumi! The city is a completely different world compared to Kobuleti! Clean! Handsome, tidy. Something even reminded me of my favorite Barcelona. The beach is rocky. The sea is clean and warm. We sunbathed right in the water))) Because it's hot and because it's so good))) the beach is very similar to the beaches of Alushta) And the contingent is somewhere the same. Corn and pickles (?????? THIS SHOCK!!! ) are sold right there. Everything that is sold near the beach is naturally with a specific markup (for 2 ice creams and 0.5 water, they gave 10 GEL). People gather in the evening. I dozed off at 5 pm, and when I woke up people were lying on top of each other. We dined at the khachapuri restaurant with cheese, butter and egg. This is a magical food! honestly! We did not stay at the hotel, in the evening we moved to Tbilisi.
About 400 km, several hours on the road, stopping along the way for coffee and “closed” khachapuri. And we are there.
Lived at a friend's house. Shocked the house. More like an elevator. Feeling like it's in the 50s. You open the door. Come in. You see the mine. Brrr… the first couple of times it was scary.
Tbilisi is a city of amazing beauty! And you have to watch it day and night! Don't like museums? The National Museum will surprise you. Very interesting and colorful! From the hall dedicated to the occupation - goosebumps. But what surprised me: many Georgians are sure that all Slavs admire Stalin (????? )... They even sell souvenirs with his image (????? ).
We walked along the main street of Tbilisi - Shota Rustaveli Avenue.
Rustaveli is considered the central artery of the city, through which the life of the capital flows. The street is named after a Georgian poet who lived in the 12th century. ? The avenue was founded in the 19th century with the support of Prince Vorontsov. One and a half kilometers of a busy street are crowned by two squares - Freedom and Rustaveli. Throughout its length you can see a lot of green spaces. It is difficult to find a more popular place, because Shota Rustaveli Avenue is full of museums and theaters, monuments, ancient churches and temples, shops and shops, restaurants and eateries. At the same time, all establishments are distinguished by hospitality and simplicity. ?
The main cultural attractions that can be seen on the avenue are: the Academy of Sciences, the Georgian National Museum, the Drama Theater. Griboyedov, theater. Shota Rustaveli, Parliament of Georgia, Kashueti Church and many other breathtaking places.
Climbing to the top of Narikha was worth the effort!
The city view is breathtaking! I advise you to look at the night city on the cable car. A peaceful bridge, a dancing fountain, like all of Georgia on fire - truly magic!
Further according to the plan - 2 monasteries - Krestovsky and ____, in the second the things of the crucified Christ are kept.
Lunch in the mountains. The restaurant is not conceptual. Tables - chairs - everything that was, then collected. But delicious! Khinkali. . . it looks like dumplings, of course, but it's something else. And very tasty! ) 2 kebabs, 10 khinkali, 3 lemonades, salad, watermelon and melon - 45 GEL. It seems that it will not get better here is simply unrealistic! There are many mosquitoes in the mountains. Stock up on them.
In souvenir shops, prices are almost the same. Magnet, for example, from 3 to 10 GEL. Basically 5.
Dinner at turtle lake. Beautiful and pleasant. There is also a disco that we wanted to go to))
The next day, or rather the evening, unfortunately, I flew away. I almost missed the flight, more precisely, the registration was already closed for about 20 minutes, but I was lucky, and I still flew away)))
From the inexpressible: I have never met anyone more hospitable than Georgians !!! ! Bright, kind people! Although not fully understandable to me attitude towards women, marriage and sex. And to pedestrians)) be vigilant: in Georgia it is not customary to let pass even at pedestrian crossings! There is NO such law))) But the roads, as for me, are much better than in Ukraine. And to roll around the country, looking at its picturesque views, is a pleasure!
I don’t know how Georgia lived before, but from everything I saw, only one question arose: why does a country with such natural wealth, beauty and minerals, incredible people, look like a poor stepdaughter? Cinderella, honestly. I hope this country has a fabulous future. And I will probably come back here.
