Artex or Fairy??????
I found tours almost identical both in terms of the program and the price of Great Britain + Ireland. I don’t know what to choose ... or are there other tour operators? it seems like I heard that Artex is of better quality or something, but I didn’t deal with them, I went to the Czech Republic from Feeria - no complaints. But on the Internet (and here in particular) - there are very negative reviews about this and that company, but about the extravaganza - more ... But I understand that it cannot always be ideal - everyone has negative reviews ...
or is it easier not to go on a group tour, but to go on your own (but through a travel agency), but then order an excursion on the spot at the meeting party? I'm thinking - who was in the UK - share your experience

I just got back from a trip to Paris for New Years. I went with Artex, I liked it very much, everything was organized, the bus was comfortable, there were no night crossings, the hotels where I stayed 2 and 3 *, but clean and comfortable. Most of the tourists who were with us have already traveled with Artex two or three times, the reviews are only positive.

We have been working with Artex for a very long time, reliable, proven partners. They always have good guides in Europe. And the managers are very kind and quick to respond.

I traveled with Fairy and Artex on various bus tours, so I made up my mind about these tour companies. There are both pros and cons, this is influenced by various circumstances. In July 2010 I went on a tour with Artex called "On the other side of the Channel" (England, Scotland, Wales). The tour is wonderfully organized, I liked everything, except for the train with the Euroclass car - this is terrible, but the travel agency is not to blame for this. The biggest advantage of this tour is the guide Tatyana Gerasimenko. She is a Pro! Everything is organized, thought out, presented! It seems to me that she is the author of this tour. So, as last time it was not possible to visit Ireland. decided to go again to the UK + Ireland. The tour is called "Legends of the Irish Sea" from 04/24/2013 to 05/12/2013. I think what my decision is to go with this company, or rather with this guide, something, yes it means! I invite you to the same tour, I think you will not regret it. If you are interested or have any questions, write in a personal, I will be happy to share my impressions and answer all your questions ...

I went on a tour "from London to Loch Ness" with Fairy - I don’t remember any organizational complaints. Yes, the guide was not very experienced in terms of team management, but she no longer carries this tour.
In London, there was a gorgeous guide - Natalia. I still remember her, not only knows a lot, but also knows how to captivate and inspire her to self-education upon her return from the tour.
By the way, thanks to the meticulousness and scrupulousness of the manager of this direction, Yulia Rafizade, even my friend with a CLEAR passport received a visa.
Fairy has a big tour of Scotland coming up in August, I'm on my way! But by air connection. I hope that through London :-)

and I remember the Prague guide of the extravaganza - just a fairy tale, Igor - this is something - this is a talent. and the accompanying guide is average..
that's why I'm torn between tour operators ... in the extravaganza, the tour seems to be called Great Britain + Ireland: Celtic heritage
Ultimately, I'll probably still decide in a travel agency ...
but - you have to get a visa personally - how can a manager help here? Of course, in terms of consultations - yes, but it won’t affect the result here ...
add. question - anyone insured against recognizance? (I plan to do this, I don’t want to lose a lot of money for the tour in which case (this is again about a visa)))

well .. to attend personally - yes, but with the collection of documents - the manager helped a lot. Well, she either has more experience with English visas than we do, she suggested which additional docks to bring, and which ones, on the contrary, are not necessary, based on marital status, work, visa history, etc.
so Yulia helped us a lot, because in the embassy itself - she handed over the docks, handed over the imprint, answered questions - and is free

I would choose not so much between operators as between guides! You can find out who accompanies the group on certain dates, and compare reviews on the Internet.
And why insure against non-departure, is it not first a visa - then payment for the tour?
As for visas - my husband and I were 5 times in the UK, on our own, without travel agencies, we opened visas ourselves twice - the first for six months (this is the minimum period for which they give), the next one was asked for two years. There are no particular difficulties in collecting documents, the main thing is to carefully and scrupulously fill out an extensive questionnaire, extra pieces of paper are also not needed. How to do this - everything is described in detail on the UKBA website.
Z.Y. And yes, the embassy does not accept documents, all these procedures are carried out by the visa center.

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably do that :)
as for insurance ... for a visa, as far as I know, you need confirmation of the hotel and air ... and according to the reviews that I read - payment first. and when I went to the Czech Republic it was like that, I just didn’t have a dual to insure - I didn’t know about it, and secondly, for some reason I was sure that it was not difficult to get to the Czech Republic)))
I read articles about insurance - they say that 10-20 percent of those who are insured use insurance (in terms of returning their money).

I paid for the tour in Feeria AFTER the visa was issued.
Yes, I paid 100 euros to book the tour, but in the contract I asked for a clause on the return of the prepayment in case of refusal of a visa. There were no objections on the part of Feeria regarding such an addition to the contract.

thanks for the info
I want to know all the nuances before communicating with a travel agency)))

yes, Pachok, you are right - collecting docks is not problematic. I wrote incorrectly - the manager did not help in the collection itself :-) I collected everything myself :-)
But what exactly - I advised the same :-)

Arteks asks to make an advance payment in the equivalent of 200 euros, they pay for the tour in full after receiving a visa, if a visa is denied, then you only lose the payment to the embassy (about 1000 hryvnias), and the travel agency returns the advance payment.

thank!
now I'm back to the beginning - the choice is not easy ...
I'll probably find out about the guides and I'll be guided by them)))

"And that's exactly what - advised the same :-)"
Good advice is a big deal, I agree :)
For those who want to receive it themselves, everything you need to provide is on the official website. Agents very often ask for completely unnecessary documents. The forum has a thread on visas to the UK.

That's exactly what I wrote about - about extra documents. The UK is one of the few countries where you do not need to take out insurance at all! Emergency care on the territory of the state is provided free of charge to everyone, including foreign tourists, and the consulate does not require insurance.
Bookings and tickets, as written, we CAN provide, but the word "should" is not there. And it is separately indicated that they do not recommend paying for these reservations until there is a visa.
