Paris for the first time.
Good afternoon. I'm going on a bus tour "French Caprice" (Germany-Paris), who was on this tour or similar? How much money should you take with you?

Thanks! And another question is what will the weather be like in the first decade of April?
аватар Margo23
I would take a minimum of 100 euros / day, and preferably more.
The weather should be spring and pleasant, but I remember how on March 28 I was in a down jacket, hat and gloves, because. it was terribly strong wind and rain all week. But Paris is beautiful in any weather!
аватар nikotenok
ATP, but it seems to me that 100 euros / day is a bit much, although I understand that they will not be superfluous.
I calculate 50 euros / day + optional excursions all 125 euros.
аватар Olyane4ka
If all additional excursions have already been written for you, then choose what interests you, calculate how much it will cost, + about 35 euros per person for food at least a day (or better, more, I join the previous comment).
Then do not forget a separate expense item for public transport if you want to independently explore the attraction of your choice + the cost of the entrance ticket there.
I don’t know about anyone, but in my travels, books and souvenirs are the biggest expense item (I always write a list of relatives, friends and colleagues so as not to forget or offend anyone) and these magnets, bottle openers, spoons, key chains, postcards, cups, T-shirts, perfumes, beer, cognac, wine, etc. a pleasant trifle delays more than my food, travel and additional excursions. That's it in a nutshell and that's it. And if you have time - read, ask around, if you know in advance, then you can always find a way to save a little on something (so that the trip will later be a pleasant memory, and not a ruinous trip))
In any case, good weather and only the best impressions from the tour!!!

Thank you very much! I think it's worth listening to the advice of knowledgeable people.
But about souvenirs, a friend asks to bring French perfume. Is it worth it and what is the price?
аватар Olyane4ka
Their markets, just like ours, are littered with fake goods, and when buying perfumes in beautiful packaging somewhere in the subway or on a street stall, you can hardly hope that you have the originals in your hands. What can not be said about large supermarkets such as Galeries Lafayette, they value their reputation. I will not say that it is worth doing, but it seems to me that good perfumes are always worth the money spent on them, this is a memory!
Perhaps the guide, smiling sweetly and telling a century-old story, will drag you all to the Fragonard perfume museum, where after a long walk, a ban on photos and videos, in a tiny basement you will be offered supposedly exclusive perfumes, soaps and various creams. Believe me, their prices are too high, and they only take Russian tourists there to peel them like sticky, the French themselves buy such products at sales in large supermarkets. Yes, my mother could not resist and bought perfume, the fragrance is really charming, but they are not persistent, and after two hours there is not even a barely perceptible hint. If you want to know the prices for cosmetics, look for ww.marionnaud.fr ww.galerieslafayette.com and compare with the museum ww.fragonard.com, look in advance for what you want to buy, otherwise your eyes run wide, temptations will leave you without money)

Wasn't exactly on this tour, but was just in Paris. My savings tips are as follows: if you know that you will ride the subway yourself, then think it might be cheaper to buy a weekly pass. Some museums have days with free admission, for example, on Thursday to the D'Orsay Museum, but it's better to look at the websites of the museums of interest. In many places there are discounts for tourists under 25. dish) at good prices, this may include a main course, a salad and a dessert (but pay attention to the word "au" (or)), i.e. it can be a main course + drink or a dish + dessert). signs, but if you do not pay attention to the "or", it seems that all this is included in the price, and if you do not specify the waiter, then you can order, and separately these dishes are expensive. So check what to include. a huge number of restaurants with a very decent and varied cuisine. But knowledge of English at least at some intermediate level is very desirable. If you go to Disneyland, you can buy tickets for it at some metro stations (for example, La Defense) and take the train to Disneyland there

I was only in Paris for a week with my granddaughter and daughter in June 2010. I advise you to buy tickets for the Eifel and Disney in advance through I-no: firstly, it’s cheaper, and secondly, you won’t stand in long lines - first to buy a ticket, then in another one - to go upstairs! It makes no sense to buy perfumes - you can, indeed, run into a fake, and the prices there are no different from Moscow (before the trip, they were specially fixed first in Moscow, then in Paris). Good luck! I envy you in white!!!

"Girlfriend asks to bring French perfume" - keep your way to Sephora stores, an analogue of our L'Etoile, that is, of course, vice versa! ))) The prices are not exorbitant, but the products are native, made in France!
Take more money. Paris is the most expensive city in France and in Europe. For example, the cheapest coffee is 6-7 euros! Irish, Viennese, latte, cappuccino, etc. - already 12 euros!
Tip: in Paris, the cheapest souvenirs are in the Notre Dame Cathedral area, exit the Hotel de Ville metro station, on the way to the cathedral there are a whole bunch of shops, mostly Indians. You can buy all sorts of garbage for cheap! ))) Buy drinks in supermarkets, wine from 3-5 euros per bottle and up to infinity, Pastis (aniseed vodka, yummy!) - from 12 euros, foie gras - from 15 euros and more.

nikotenok, if without "show-offs", then 50 euros / day should be enough for you even for dinner in an inexpensive restaurant.
bebeshka, the "free" day in the museums of Paris is the first Sunday of the month. But this is a VERY dubious savings - queues for entry increase dramatically.
Orsay on Thu is open until 22:00, but there is no free entry.
аватар Lidia47
You can enter the Louvre EASILY on a free day - we spent 10 minutes - and that's only because it's so "long" that you have to go through a metal detector ... We must go along the street. Rivoli walk along the wall of the building almost to the end, there will be an entrance through the gate, sort of like a shop, and through it - a passage to the Louvre !!! And no queue!

Advice about souvenirs - the best is wine, because even for 4-5 Euros, this is a completely different wine compared to what is sold here. Moreover, you are on the bus, it is on the plane that you are worried about the advantage. As for food, I also ate in medium-sized restaurants - the largest plate of salad was 16 Euros, beer 7-8 Euros, just don’t really rush to restaurants where there are a lot of people and Arabs - attendants .. You can also buy something in the supermarket , they sell a lot of cooked salads, hard rolls, dairy and cheese .. Good luck!

"For 4-5 Euros, this is a completely different wine" - to be honest, the French do not drink wine for this price, they use it for cooking, but it is an order of magnitude better than what is sold here!
аватар Lidia47
We walked around the Latin Quarter, dined in a cafe on Sorbonne Square - krap (pancakes) with ham and a MOUNTAIN of salad - 11 euros + cappuccino 4 euros, I just could NOT get up from the table!
аватар 4Ever
I have many French friends, and they said that for 4-5 Euros they drink wine every day, this is an ordinary young wine, and for cooking they use it in large liter bottles. That's it!
аватар Stanka
Gee, and my French friends will never buy wine for less than 20 euros per bottle, but for me it will do for 4 euros! And I didn’t even see wine in large liter bottles, here is Ricard - yes, it flows like water! )))

I bought a tour for May 22. I think to prepare carefully)
аватар nikotenok
I arrived from the tour yesterday)))) Mega!!!
And their wine is all natural and very tasty. We tried it in packages (1.2 euros each) and in glass bottles of 4-6 euros.
аватар Len_OK
tell me more))
аватар nikotenok
Lenok are you interested in French whim tour or just Paris?
аватар Len_OK
I'm interested in the tour. Because I'm going to it on May 22. Well, at least impressions, emotions))))
аватар Lidia47
And I'm wondering - I would also like to go to them, I'm terribly drawn to Paris - I can't forget since last summer!
What did it cost you financially? Where, in what hotel did you live?
аватар nikotenok
Emotions are only positive! The main thing is to set yourself up for positive.
It is very beautiful in Germany, Dresden and "Saxon Switzerland" were especially impressed.
Paris is naturally gorgeous. I recommend going to Versailles - incredible beauty.

and tell me what happens in Paris with free time? for 3 days if you do not go to Disney, do you have half a day?
аватар Lidia47
I would like to share my impressions: we went to Paris on our own, without tours, we were in Paris for 6 days, on the penultimate day we went to Rouen. EVERYTHING is amazing and unforgettable! But most of all I remember the day when my daughter and granddaughter went to Disney, and I stayed "at home" - and walked around the center. Slowly, slowly, she walked from our house (we lived between the Pompidou Center and the Louvre) through the Palais Royal, past the Comédie Francaise to the Opera (I bought a ticket for 9 euros - I went inside) and back: I turned into side streets, walked along the Capuchin Boulevard for about two hours, I wandered around the Galeries Lafayette for a bit, had lunch, and on the way back opposite the Louvre, I ordered a cappuccino at a table on the corner... And I remember THIS day to the smallest detail - and I want to repeat IT!
Good luck and only positive emotions to everyone who goes THERE!!! The main thing is to set yourself up for a MEETING with this one and only city!

and tell me what happens in Paris with free time? for 3 days if you do not go to Disney, do you have half a day?
First day in Paris:
we left the hotel according to the schedule at 8.00 on the road, there were some (trifle) difficulties and because of this we arrived at the appointed masto at 15.00 (we lost about an hour). The sightseeing tour (on foot and by bus) is very interesting, it only takes your breath away and you have time to turn your head. In Notedrama, admission is free, 20 min. to see and take pictures (not enough, but time flies very quickly in Paris). We walked, got on the bus and went to look. By 20.00 we barely had time to reach the tower, since it was not far from the pier. We went on a boat and at 21.00 we left for the hotel.
Day 2 (free or optional) we chose Versailles (some Versailles, Louvre and Montmartre). Departure at 8.00 until the guide was picked up on the road lost about an hour of time due to traffic jams (((At the entrance there was a big queue, we had a coupon for the group to enter at 10.10, entered at about 10.40 but it was worth it. WOW !!! There would be little time until 13.00 2 days to wander. At 15.00 - we don’t sew the Louvre.

Continuation:
At 14.00 we were at the Louvre, brought to a perfume shop (I didn’t like it, some ladies were stingy) from the Louvre we began a personal acquaintance with Paris. We took a map, consulted with a guide on how best to get to the hotel and forward. From the Louvre we walked to Mulyan Rouge, then we took wine in the market (uuuuuuuu) and on foot to Montmartre. The view of Montmartre is awesome!!! .We wandered through the streets of Paris and enjoyed the spring. So we got to the hotel without the help of the metro by 21.00
On the 3rd day we chose Disneyland, those who decided to walk on their own were instructed how to get to the center from the hotel on the RER and the metro. I know that they had time from 8.00 to 13.00, since the bus brought us to Disney, and then went to 13. for the rest to the Louvre and back for us to Disney, and at 15.00 we left this FANTASTIC world!!! See you France )))

nikotenok, did you like Disneyland or is it better to stay in Paris? And how much did you spend on this tour, if not a secret? I'm going on this tour in June and I also don't know how much to take at a minimum?
аватар nikotenok
From Disneyland, if I honestly expected more, maybe if there was more time for a walk, then maybe it would be better ...
For the money, I took 500 euros, while still a little "shopping" in Dresden and Weimar. And so it seems that everything was enough. In Germany, the prices are of course lower than in Paris!
