Recommend a hotel in the center
We need a decent 3 * hotel in the center (I don’t know the center as such, so to be close to everything if possible, the goal is to take a walk, maybe a hotel closer to the Elis. fields) without frills but not sharamy

There is a wonderful site booking.com Even if you do not know where the area you need is near the city, you can request a hotel near the station, for example, or some palace. From what you will be offered, choose according to your wallet and reviews (there are reviews there who have already stayed).

we stayed at the Best Western Acadia Opera (address - 4 Rue Geoffroy Marie), a hotel in the center of the Jewish quarter. Near the metro station, very convenient to get to any attractions. The hotel is a trio, no frills, with a modest breakfast, but clean and in a good area. In general, look at the hotels of this chain - they have a lot of triplets in different parts of Paris (although it can be difficult here, without knowing the features of the area, you can get into the black quarter, as it was with friends).

check out the website of the Citadines hotel series, their hotels are in many areas of Paris. Personally, I was in Citadine in La Defense (a two-room huge room with a kitchen) right next to the metro station Explanada de la Defense (1st line). Several stations and you are in the center. It is very profitable if you are going to rest in four, as hotels in the center of Paris (Opera district) are very tiny and expensive, but even so this particular hotel is cheaper. In other areas of Paris, they already have one-room suites. Paris is not big. It has an extensive metro network, so it makes no sense to pay a lot of money to live in the center. Choose in other areas and save on the price, there is something to see in Paris in any area, and you can get anywhere by metro.

Believe me, after visiting Prague, I was convinced that it is better to overpay for the center than to take the metro and spend the same money on moving back and forth, given that it is not so cheap; plus we were also fined for getting off the subway 5 minutes later than it was indicated on the travel card. After that, I'm not a walker on the subway)))

in Prague travel card for a certain time?
In Paris it is easier - there from one point to the second. We just said at the box office to which station we were and they gave us travel cards and said the amount. The trip cost about 2.5 Euro per person. In this way, we even went to Versailles (there is a transfer to the commuter train in the metro). It's just that the center of Paris is big, you can't get around all the sights on foot. We didn’t have time to go everywhere we planned during the 5 days of our stay and active festivities, and every day we simply fell from fatigue and impressions.

Many sights of Paris are located not only in the center, many sights are scattered around the outskirts, the same La Defense area, where one of the famous arches is located, is not in the center. Find a map of Paris attractions and select those that interest you and, depending on their location, select a hotel. You will have to ride the subway in any case, wherever you live. I have not been to Prague, but in Paris you can buy a week pass (in 2006 it cost 16 euros) and ride as much as you want. Every part of Paris is beautiful. If the question of the cost of a hotel is not important to you, then choose any one near the Opera, there are a lot of them. In Versailles, Disneyland can be reached by train, which can be reached directly from the metro. Find a map of subway zones. In general, at the airport before, you could take a map of Paris for free with all the sights and metro stations, and the map shows that Paris is not such a big city. But to review everything, of course, 5 days is not enough, and is it necessary to watch everything :)

There are also hotels of the Citadines series right in the center (near the Louvre and near the Opera), but the rooms there are already small and there are already more to stand. Go to their website and compare prices. Have a good trip and a good choice :)

The metro in Paris is divided into zones, most of Paris is the first zone, you buy a ticket for it and that's it, or you can buy tickets in bulk (10 pieces) then they are much cheaper. If you plan to take a travel card, then when you buy it, they give you a card where you paste your photo. And enter the number of this card in the travel card itself. Sometimes there are checks. When I was in Paris, I regularly used the metro and in general they have it very convenient, its stations are near all the sights.

we lived in Pavillon Monttaigne. booked on booking.com. It turned out 500 Euro for 4 days for 2 people. breakfast is modest. but 2 steps from Champs Elysees. if I return, definitely go there. On the website, the pictures of the hotel are bad, in reality it is better.
