This is my first trip to distant Thailand, before that it was mostly Europe, Israel.
We didn’t prepare for a very long time, although we dreamed for a long time)) We chose a hotel together with a tour operator for about 3 hours. As a result, we settled on the Amaya hotel. patong. Phuket. I was traveling with my husband and 11 year old child.
Flight: we flew from Yekaterinburg for 8 hours (at night), I was tall and it was sooo crowded, unfortunately we didn’t manage to book seats in the aisle and had to suffer, but these are trifles that were no longer remembered upon arrival. Met and delivered without incident.
Hotel: the hotel pleases with greenery and location, go out and across the road immediately the sea. If you are with a car, then the problem is with parking, this did not affect us. The hotel is small, homely and very cozy. A small but comfortable pool, in a circle, is surrounded by greenery. One building with 3 floors. All rooms face the pool. We had a two room suite which was very comfortable. Room on the 3rd floor, 2 full rooms with their own shower, toilet and balcony in each room, as well as on TV. The room has a kettle, tea and one of the rooms had a sink. every day they put new bottles of water (even if the previous ones did not drink).
Breakfasts: I read reviews that breakfasts are monotonous, well, don’t tell me. Even in the best hotels, the assortment does not change much in 10 days. So, I personally had nothing to complain about (great experience). We left full for half a day, and everything was delicious, except for the bacon. It seemed to me a couple of times with a smell, but I react sensitively, no one else felt it.
Excursions: It turned out to be a very sore subject. More precisely, a fly in the ointment. From the very beginning, our hotel guide, Erkin, showed himself to be a disgusting boor, I want to note not in relation to us personally, but to the rest of the group of tourists who were not the first time and they were not interested in him. As a result, I decided not to pay attention to this and order a tour from him, as a representative of a travel agency. Two days for $200 each, to the islands. The day before, at 10 pm, he called us and said that the tour was canceled, I was shocked (not 5 minutes ago I found out). She said that I didn’t want more excursions and I want to get money, my 600 dollars. As a result, we received them for 4 days. He fed me full breakfasts, I don’t even want to remember, one thing surprises me how he still works there. Everything turned out to be in shock. Hamlo in full. Well, other tourists taught me, it turns out that it wasn’t us alone who returned it for so long, while he could return it in small bills, and in Thailand they roll less than 50 or 100 bills. So in the end I got my 600 dollars (100 bills), but how much did it cost me.
As a result, they ordered excursions not through our travel agency, but through acquaintances in a local company, they were very satisfied, but unfortunately they did not get to the islands. Thanks to such individual hotel guides, the company is losing customers.
Exchangers: I can not help touching on this topic. The best one we found is right next to the hotel. As you exit immediately to the left to the traffic light, it is on the corner on the side of the hotel. ))
Market: If you turn right from the hotel, after 50-70 meters there will be a market with food. Open hours from 19:00. Sometimes we had dinner, everything is delicious, try the crocodile).
Also, if you go left from the hotel, exit onto Bang Road and follow it to Jungle Ceylon (local shopping center). There is also a larger food market.
