Hello everyone who is going to AKC MINOA PALACE in Crete! And we have just returned (20.07-27.07. 2014) We were in Crete, and in Greece for the first time, before that we rested in Turkey. The hotel is small, family, located 7 min. from the airport and 20 minutes (by bus number 7, stop near the hotel, fare 1.5 euros, tickets at the reception) to Heraklion.
We were met at the hotel by the staff very friendly and throughout the rest the staff was just great. all accessories in the bathroom). Cleaning and change of towels daily.
So:
BEACH - just a class, especially for those with children, and there were a lot of them, sand and a shallow long entry. There are enough sun loungers for everyone, no need to take up seats in the morning.
POOL - small, for children - 0.35 cm. Large -1.35 cm. Fresh water.
ANIMATION - all sorts of entertainment for children, on Wednesday - Greek evening (folklore arrives). Beach volleyball.
WI-FI is everywhere, even in the rooms and on the beach.
FOOD - not as diverse as in Turkey, but we, and I think the rest had enough.
Meat - chicken, turkey, lamb, pork.
Seafood - swordfish, crabs, squid (stuffed), mussels and oysters (in salads), salmon, anchovies.
Various salads (including Greek).
Side dishes - rice, potatoes, spaghetti, pasta, moussaka.
Fruits - watermelons, melons, kiwi, pineapple, nectarine, apples, orange, grapefruit, dates.
Sweet - cakes, cakes, cookies, muffins, crackers, lemon and orange candied fruits, peanuts, raisins, cherries, prunes.
Alcohol and drinks - alcohol (beer, crayfish, azu, white wine, red (local) - free of charge, cola drinks, fanta sprite, soda - free, cocktails - paid and all other alcohol.
We did not take excursions, but went on our own. To Heraklion by bus (every half an hour, schedule at the reception) (they took maps from the Internet and what interesting things you can see) visited the Palace of Knossos (before that, read the information on the Internet) (adults 6.00 ervo, for children under 18 free of charge) ( if you take an excursion, then 35.00 euros per person) (we went to the palace from the bus station by bus (1.5 euros). We walked along the pier, in the city center, went to the Museum of Nature (8.00 euros for adults, children-5 euro) (my son (13 years old) liked it, (especially the imitation of the green crack)). St. Catherine's Cathedral. We walked from Lviv Square (bought magnets and souvenirs). So decide for yourself whether you want to take a tour or not.
We rented a Toyota Yaris automatic car, I advise everyone if you want to travel around Crete, the winding mountain road (98.00 euros per day with full insurance (lights, mirrors, wheels, the bottom, everything that would be included) and a zero deductible !!!! ! !! (this is very important). . We drove around the ring from the hotel down south to Matala, Agia Galina (very beautiful city), Spili, Kourtaliot gorge (Super), Armeni, Rethymno, Kourna lake (very cool), Bali beach, Heraklion The road took with stops and swimming from 7.00 to 20.00). Do not break the rules of DD, if they want to overtake you, give them this opportunity and watch the locals, they know where the cameras are and when you can give speed and when not.
So enjoy sunny Crete!! !

Advantages: Decent food. The restaurant is a solid five, tasty, appetizing and satisfying, the variety of dishes is quite sufficient. Its own good beach, soft sand, gentle entrance. Friendly staff (several people know Russian, and you will always understand what you want). Disadvantages: Modest animation (despite the presence of 2 Ukrainian or Russian girls) Lack of territory (except for the beach and a few palm trees, nowhere to walk) Review: We traveled as a family of 2 adults + 2 children (5 and 7 years old).

We traveled as a family of 2 adults + 2 children (5 and 7 years old).
First, about the tour operator... they came for tickets to Pegasus, where it turned out that Sabey (TUI) employees worked, in turn, they ordered from Biblio Travel, upon arrival in Crete, it turned out that they were met by a representative of Biblio Globus. The travel agency representing the interests of the Biblio Globus is Beleon tour. Therefore, the rating for everyone is three. (Reasons: they ordered visas, regretted that they did not do it themselves. For a month and a half, the travel agency made visas !! ! We never called from the travel agency, we made all the calls , 7 hours before departure, we received only vouchers, passports with visas and other documents. In Greece, the situation with excursions is to tear such money, while everywhere on excursions you pay yourself for entrance tickets, this is redneck, in no country is this I remember, moreover, the training of guides is extremely weak, before that I thought that there were no guides only in Egypt and Turkey, it wasn’t here, here the training of people responsible for excursions was carried out at best in a construction vocational school, but not at universities with a historical slope). Despite the fact that the representative of the Beleon tour, at the hotel, is trying with might and main, thanks to her for this, but in general the picture is miserable. I advise you to go on your own and look at their beauty and historical places for yourself, stock up on a guidebook, it says even more, especially for you it will be much cheaper.
All the flaws of tour operators are smoothed out by the hotel and its staff. With minor shortcomings, which in general cannot be called shortcomings, I still think that the hotel justifies its 4 stars. , well, or water aerobics with visitors to the pool, in the evening for 15-20 minutes some competitions from the repertoire of the school). Territory... From the facade it looks very beautiful, palm trees and flowers, on the flanks - a garden where they grow all sorts of greenery for a restaurant, and from the right. cat bushes on the sides, pools on the rear - one 30 cm. deep and 125 cm deep. Further, the beach, to which there is not a single claim, is always clean, soft sand, the entrance to the sea is gentle. All sunbeds and umbrellas are free. There may not be enough space by the pool, but there are always free sunbeds by the sea. Lifeguards are working, whistling zealously if you swim behind the buoys. The only thing I didn’t like was that during our vacation, the sea was quite stormy, and if for adults, big waves are not a hindrance, then for kids, it’s not good... But despite the waves, we swam every day.
The restaurant is worthy of praise, the food is excellent, all dishes are delicious, meat, fish, fruits, salads, ice cream, muffins, roissants, gourds... Drinks - cola, orange and lemon lemonade, concentrated juice, water, beer, rose wine and white (you can drink), tea, coffee with milk.
The staff is friendly, courteous and responsive. In general, the Greeks liked it, very nice people. Probably every second one understands Russian, although only a few people speak, but you will not have problems understanding.
Cleaning on 4-, they seem to be cleaned, but without diligence, so after cleaning you can find someone's hair in the room, either from a rag or from somewhere else, this is not affected by tips.
The room had a double bed, and a bookcase bed for two children, a refrigerator, a TV (3 Russian channels, the image is true for 3-), a table, a wardrobe, a safe (it seems you have to pay for use, we didn’t use it, nothing was lost), bathroom a room with a combined toilet. Very good air conditioning, copes with its task and does not bother with noise. Balconies even on the first floor. The hotel has a souvenir shop, prices are almost the same as in the city, the difference is small. hammam (I think the price is too high).
The hotel is located in the village of Amnisos, in which there is no liveliness, there is nowhere to go. But there is a rental of scooters, and a shop with a Russian-speaking hostess, who turned out to be a very pleasant woman, the prices in her shop are reasonable, even in Heraklion most of the shops they sell at slightly higher prices (although there are those in which prices are lower). It’s just that there were good reviews about the owner of the store before (they themselves encountered it on their own example... a child walking on the street touched the exhaust pipe of a scooter and burned himself. and complaining to us about the burn, attracted the attention of the store owner, she took an interest, and then brought a cream and ointment with which she smeared the burns and treated our child with sweets, completely free of charge)
There is a bus stop next to the hotel, 25 meters away, so by bus number 7 you will reach the center of Heraklion in 12 minutes. So despite the lack of entertainment in the village, the hotel is located close to the city, which is a definite plus. The airport is generally located a 10-minute drive from the hotel. Despite the plentiful number of plying planes, they don’t really bother with their roar, you don’t pay attention to them during the day, and at night, you close the door to the balcony and it’s inaudible.
Liked the hotel. The hotel itself can be put five.

Hello! I am writing a review for the first time, so do not be strict, dear future tourists of the AKS Minoa Palace 4 * : -). On the bus, the guide told us that it would take 15 minutes to get to the hotel, but we were at the hotel in 5 minutes (during this time we managed to pick up our suitcases from the bus)! we were one of the first tourists of the 2013 season, we were met very friendly: we filled out a questionnaire, drank juice (yupi), received the keys, took our suitcases and we were in the room (the whole procedure was 10 minutes).

The room is cozy, clean and comfortable. There is a lot of storage space: a closet where there are a large number of coat hangers, niches, places for shoes and even for suitcases; two bedside tables; TV cabinet with drawers for things. Nowhere and nothing was broken, no noise, no squeaking, no dripping, no blowing. The territory of the hotel is small, but we did not have time to walk around it anyway. Well, the swimming pool overlooking the sea - it was my dream, and the main reason why we chose this hotel. and with hotel reviews we had problems, reviews are either very old or in Italian. so we looked at the pictures and off we went. Indeed, as in the photo - the pool was overlooking the sea : -). It was very nice and comfortable. The pool is clean, not deep 1.25-1.35 m. And the children's pool is very shallow. The beach is clean and sandy. The sea is clear, cool (we were still out of season) - we still swam !! ! comfortable sun loungers, umbrellas, beach towels, free of charge. The restaurant has a big place enough for everyone, there is also a barbecue restaurant (but it didn’t work with us yet), 2 bars. we had an ALL soft food system: all food at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and from alcohol - wine, crayfish, beer from barrels - free of charge both in the restaurant and at the bar. Everything from bottles (wine, beer, vodka, brandy, etc. ), as well as cocktails for a fee. Tea and coffee from the machine for free all day. In the lobby bar you can read what is included in the ALL soft system, so it's better to read first and then order boldly. Because we ordered coffee for 2.5 euros (as our guide Londa said - free of charge), but it was an instructive lesson and we learned it. The food is just excellent.... our company, apart from the words: excellent, wonderful, wonderful, excellent, etc. , did not say anything else at the table. The Italian chef is just a wonderful person and an excellent specialist! everything was from meat: pork, veal, and lamb; chicken; duck; all kinds of fish. Side dishes, too, for every taste could be found. From fruits were oranges, apples, grapefruits, strawberries. All I can say about desserts is.....mmmmmmmm. . . You just have to try it - you won't regret it! a lot of olives and cheeses, dried fruits, various nuts, homemade jams, jams, chocolate (not soy!!!! ). Oh yes, and what kind of croissants are there !! ! EVERYTHING about food is no more a word!! ! The staff is very friendly and if you greet them in Greek, you are all their best friends! they really like it! I advise you to learn a couple of words in Greek - good morning, good evening, thank you and please! Excursions are not cheap, to put it mildly - from 50 euros (for this money you will be taken to the city of Heraklion, guided through it and you will visit 2 museums. We did it 14 euros: 2 euro bus to Heraklion and back, 10 euros - entrance to the Archaeological museums (but honestly there is nothing to do) and the Palace of Knossos! ! for 1.5 euros - you choose! . It will be more interesting, and more comfortable, and cheaper. We were 9 people, we took 2 cars (small) for 2 days for 130 euros. Petrol from 1.70 euros. It was two wonderful days. We took cars not from a guide (Londa), but from the city - of course it's cheaper. Everything was wonderful and fun! I can’t and don’t want to find fault with anything except animation !! ! whether they just arrived, or they didn’t care what the vacationers do - I don’t know. , but I have never seen such passive animators (a boy and two girls). But this did not overshadow our holiday for a second, we had a great company. we all demanded a club dance from the animation, but did not wait ; -), maybe you will dance a club dance?! ! But if you dance the Macarena in the evening, then you should know that this is not the merit of animation, it was revived by us and our friends from Moscow (out of boredom). Something I talked about : -) it's time to round off -REST IN THIS HOTEL WAS UNFORGETTABLE and gave us a charge of vivacity and positive emotions, sun and warmth until the next trip to the sea (and this will not be soon), and also new friends! Hi Yana, Pasha , Tanya and Kolya ; -). And to you, dear tourists, a pleasant and unforgettably positive holiday on. Crete at AKS Minoa Palace 4*

But in fact - we were even lucky)))) The hotel is Italian, positions itself as 4+. It is very close from the airport - something about 7-9 km, from the balcony we watched the landing of aircraft. The territory of the hotel is practically absent, but the presence of its own large sandy beach with free sun loungers and towels makes this drawback almost invisible.

The territory of the hotel is practically absent, but the presence of its own large sandy beach with free sun loungers and towels makes this drawback almost invisible. The sea is very clean, beautiful))) The rooms are quite modest, but clean and tidy. Everything you need is there and works, no noise, no buzzing, no dripping. Upon arrival - a huge plate of fruit))) Animators are trying to entertain tourists and aqua aerobics, and all sorts of competitions, and dancing. The restaurant has a variety of food, the main direction is Italian. Pasta in several varieties, seafood risotto, pizza, meat, etc. . . Fruits - melons, watermelons, grapes, apples, bananas. Lots of sweets and ice cream. From alcohol - wine for lunch and dinner. In the bar on the beach - beer (in the same day and snacks). Strong drinks and cocktails - in the lobby bar, but already for money (although a rather symbolic amount - the most expensive cocktail is 6 euros). Such a system seems to be "All", but however in a soft version))) Some tourists who also came with us to replace the hotel refused, but everything suited us. Some, however, later returned. The only drawback is that the hotel is only open during the season, from October until spring it is closed.
